Li Ning was injured, and the wounds were severe. The main issue was that the Vital Energy within his body had begun to spiral out of control, with the power dispersing dangerously. He would recover in a few days, but the lack of energy would cause his Superpower to drop to an awkward level after he advanced to the Fifth Level.
If he wanted to maintain his formidable fighting ability in the future, he needed to replenish what he had borrowed.
Right now, he required Superpower, needed Vital Energy, and even more so, he needed some essence from his own body.
It was akin to the force that had aided Zheng Yifan during his advancement, like those waves of sublimated Vital Energy.
Now Zheng Yifan had already entered the Sixth Tier; otherwise, he would have to watch helplessly as Li Ning fell apart.
Just as they stepped out of the Ecological Sphere, they saw a dozen people gathered around a stretcher, urging each other to find any means to save Li Ning.
Tears filled everyone's eyes; to them, Li Ning seemed almost certain to die. There was no presence of Vital Energy in him, yet his body continued to forcibly absorb energy from within.
What did he have left? Inside him remained only the Avatar of the Believers that had not completely vanished, along with some remnants of his Superpower.
Fortunately, the Avatar of the Believers had stayed within him; otherwise, Li Ning would have turned into a mummy or even been consumed by his own Superpower.
However, now that the Avatar of the Believers was gone, Li Ning resembled an old man. The fat on his body had been entirely consumed, and his muscles were beginning to break down. If this continued, death would be inevitable.
"Quickly put Li Ning down; I need a Quiet Environment!" Zheng Yifan said decisively as he moved swiftly. The Power of Faith and Vital Energy within him surged like turbulent waves, ready to support Li Ning at any moment.
He too had endured battles; his Vital Energy had not fully recovered yet. After just one meal's time, he had regained only a portion.
That portion was enough to save Li Ning.
Upon hearing Zheng Yifan's command, everyone suddenly dispersed, creating ample space for him. Each person held their breath in silence, afraid even to make a sound.
Li Ning was their brother, fighting fiercely for them. The final attack was nothing short of astonishing in their eyes. Previously, they regarded Superpowered Individuals as mere superheroes, but now, in their minds, Superpowered Individuals had ascended to the status of mythic figures. Zheng Yifan's superpower was not as exaggerated; his strength often coalesced into a singular force.
However, Li Ning was different. He had always been able to create a domain of his own.
When he reached the Fifth Level, this power was pushed to its limits. Although the release of all that power was scattered, its range and lethality remained formidable.
In the final moments, Li Ning unleashed his ultimate move, successfully taking down the Sixth Tier Zombie.
Though it was just an ordinary Sixth-Stage Zombie, it was still beyond their capability to handle. Once a Zombie reached the Sixth Tier, its strength increased exponentially—not just in speed but also in attack power. Even more daunting was their physical resilience.
If Li Ning hadn't released all his potential at the last moment and executed a move he had never truly mastered—one he wouldn't be able to master for a long time—the Sixth-Stage Zombie would not have died; it would have pursued them relentlessly, eliminating everyone in its path.
Fortunately, Li Ning saved them all but ended up lying on the ground.
Now, before Zheng Yifan, Li Ning's clothes were completely torn apart, leaving only tattered scraps covering essential areas. Zheng Yifan could sense that when Li Ning used his final move, he could barely distinguish friend from foe; after all, that power had exceeded his limits. It was only natural that he lost control, resulting in his clothes being shredded and his body sustaining injuries.
Scars on a Superpowered Individual were supposed to vanish; their bodies evolved towards perfect genes.
But now, Li Ning's body was riddled with wounds. The most severe was a gaping hole the size of a fist in his abdomen—a penetrating injury that severed his spine completely. If he wanted to recover, even a Superpowered Individual would need at least half a month, requiring an immense amount of food—essentially energy—to heal.
Only then could he begin to recover.
Yet now, he lacked not only the strength to heal but even the power to advance normally.
His muscles seemed to be slowly melting away like spring snow, and the flesh on his face had nearly vanished entirely. Due to the sudden drastic weight loss, his skin hung loosely and wrinkled, resembling that of an elderly man.
The more crucial aspect was Li Ning's Vital Energy; the area around his heart resembled a swirling vortex, continuously absorbing Vital Energy.
Zheng Yifan gently placed his right hand on his chest.
In an instant, Zheng Yifan felt that the Vital Energy within him began to stir restlessly, eager to rush forward.
However, Zheng Yifan knew that if he recklessly used his own Vital Energy to replenish Li Ning, it would only serve to harm him. The mixing of two different powers would not result in fusion but rather an unprecedented explosion.
What Zheng Yifan could utilize was Li Ning's Power of Faith. His devotion to Li Ning was akin to worship; no force could shake his belief.
It was this conviction that made the Avatar of the Believers within Zheng Yifan exceptionally powerful. Even though he had already absorbed one Avatar of the Believers, that was outdated, and Zheng Yifan's current strength had significantly increased; the Avatar of the Believers was entirely different now.
Gradually, a golden light began to emerge from Zheng Yifan's body. This light seemed to want to take on a humanoid form, but Zheng Yifan clearly wouldn't allow it to fully materialize just yet. If it took shape immediately, he wouldn't be able to do anything else. While the light mass had not completely formed, Zheng Yifan pressed his hands against it, allowing the Vital Energy within him to continuously elevate and then enter the Avatar of the Believers.
This Avatar of the Believers possessed intelligence; although not complete, it still understood what Zheng Yifan was doing. The longer it took to gain Zheng Yifan's power, the more it could absorb.
However, forming the Avatar of the Believers had its time limits; it was impossible to complete it at will.
After a few seconds, the body of the Avatar of the Believers had coalesced. Zheng Yifan took a breath and looked at the Avatar before him. He couldn't create too many of Li Ning's Avatars of the Believers; this was his last hope. If this didn't work, Zheng Yifan would have to find another way, perhaps using something like the Primordial Pearl. (To be continued)
