The atmosphere was thick with murderous intent, transforming the entire Hope Gathering Place into a battlefield. Enemies surrounded them from all directions, as Zombies seemed to emerge from nowhere. Across the river, hordes of Zombies and those unruly Fellows began their assault on Fortress Jiang, where the number of Machine Guns and Firearm Espers had reached its peak. 0

Zheng Yifan understood that this war was unavoidable. At this point in the battle, there were no other choices left; it was a matter of life or death. 0

As the fighting reached its most intense moment, Zheng Yifan soared high above, surveying the members of the Gathering Place below as they fought valiantly. 0

Tears welled in his eyes as he witnessed the severity of the conflict. Almost all the warriors had joined the fight, bravely charging forward, yet death loomed over them at any moment. 0

The source of his despair lay in the unexpectedly high level of the Zombies; they were all Fourth Stage Zombies, while ordinary humans barely reached Third Stage. Only the strongest could claim Fourth Stage. 0

The overwhelming power of the Zombies pressed relentlessly against humanity's front lines. A single Fourth Stage Zombie could wreak havoc atop the city walls, and there were so many formidable Zombies. 0

What brought Zheng Yifan to the brink of tears was Han Rui. This woman stood at the southern Ruiguan checkpoint, participating in the battle. 0

With adrenaline coursing through him, Zheng Yifan halted his wings and summoned a Silver Spear and an Adamantium Shield into his hands. 0

Most importantly, he had made a decision based on their desperate circumstances during this war. 0

He thrust the Silver Spear downward with force and dove sharply toward the battlefield. 0

On the battlefield, a Fifth Stage Zombie brazenly stood beneath Ruiguan, tossing Ordinary Zombies into its confines as if it were merely playing a game. 0

They showed no interest in engaging directly in combat because they knew that even if they entered Ruiguan, they could easily be killed by humans. It was better to slowly wear down humanity's stamina; only when they reached their limits would these high-level Zombies deliver the final blow. 0

At that moment, the humans on the walls were nearly at their breaking point. They had been fighting for nights without rest. Most critically, they had no reinforcements; isolated and unsupported, hope was dwindling. 0

The situation at Jiang Fangmian was even more dire. The humans had run out of Firearms and could no longer mount effective attacks against those across the river. They could only launch limited strikes; Jiang's fortress had become crucial. 0

Unfortunately, their Thermal Power was too weak, and their combat capabilities were insufficient. The Zombies continued to besiege them relentlessly, attacking at every opportunity. High-level Zombies were even stationed outside to provide support. 0

Even within Jiang's territory, several battles had erupted among kings, but ultimately they all ended without resolution. 0

However, they knew that the Old Turtle was becoming increasingly weak. It seemed that the people across from them had found reinforcements or perhaps employed some underhanded tactics that significantly diminished the Old Turtle's fighting ability. If it weren't for the treacherous terrain of Jiang, it would have already been defeated. 0

Now, the front line of Ruiguan was more prone to collapse. A large number of Fourth-Stage Zombies were ready to launch a siege at any moment, while a few Fifth-Stage Zombies and the occasional Sixth-Stage Zombie were also prepared to truly eliminate this Gathering Place. 0

The world had almost entirely become a domain of Zombies and beasts, with humans being the easiest prey to hunt. Although humans possessed many means of defense, their sheer numbers made them easy targets. Most importantly, human flesh and blood could promote their evolution. 0

After two years had passed, they had not tasted human flesh for a long time. The only way to savor that flavor again was to hunt. 0

The population of Hope Gathering Place had reached millions and continued to draw in more humans. 0

Before the war began, all external Survivors had entered Ruiguan. The phenomenon of overcrowding was occurring almost everywhere, yet a food crisis had not emerged because Zheng Yifan had already stockpiled a significant amount of supplies. 0

However, it wouldn’t last for many months. 0

Everything depended on Zheng Yifan. 0

At this moment, the city walls were on the verge of collapse. 0

“Brothers! If the Zombies break in, we will perish together!” shouted the Left Guard standing on the wall, wiping the blood from his face—a wound inflicted by a Zombie. Though he hadn’t turned into one himself, it was still difficult to heal. 0

“I would rather shatter like jade than remain whole like broken tiles! The Zombies will absolutely leave no survivors! Let’s fight them to the end!” The warriors roared in anger. 0

Just as they were shouting, suddenly a Fifth-Level Zombie was thrown into their midst. 0

This was a strength-type Zombie, tough-skinned and muscular; its only weakness seemed to be its relatively slow speed. 0

For them, however, this was a nightmare because no one could handle it. 0

The powerful warriors within the Gathering Place had already arrived. 0

Shi Laonian was the main warrior tasked with dealing with the Zombie, as he was the only one among them capable of such a formidable challenge. However, after battling several Zombies in recent days, he was exhausted and bore wounds from the fights. 0

Yet now, he had no choice but to fight; otherwise, the war could very well end in failure. 0

“Roar!” The roar of the Fifth-Stage Zombie was just the beginning. The Observer in the watchtower suddenly gasped. 0

“The Zombie has gone mad! It has gathered so many Mutated Zombies and a Fifth-Stage Zombie; they want us dead!” The loud shout caused everyone to turn their heads in unison. 0

There stood a Fifth-Stage Zombie that resembled a catapult. While other Fifth-Stage Zombies were engaged in combat, this one primarily transported Zombies. Its long arms could hurl Zombies into Ruiguan. 0

Despair seemed to spread like wildfire; everyone braced themselves for a fight to the death. The Left Guard had even prepared to unleash her final move, knowing it would cost her life. But that didn’t matter; preserving Ruiguan was all that counted. 0

At that moment, a brilliant flash appeared above them—a pure white light radiating with a familiar power: the Power of Faith. Everyone's hearts surged with hope; their only remaining hope rested on their omnipotent leader, Zheng Yifan. 0

As this light emerged, their faith transformed into worship. 0

Zheng Yifan, suspended in the air, understood this feeling best. He felt an endless surge of power coursing through him, capable of vanquishing any enemy. Shadows began to materialize around him one after another. 0

They were like the figures of Li Ning from before, but now they were even more formidable. Their faith had solidified; they were nearing a state of worship for Zheng Yifan! They resembled fanatical devotees of the Holy See—wild and fervent!!! (To be continued) 0
