"Boss! Boss! We have to go!" Berry shouted loudly from below. His voice was already quite loud, and the bodyguards behind him were ready for battle.
One weapon after another was brought out, many of which were powerful items that Zheng Yifan had acquired from the Apocalyptic World.
The most formidable among them was a Machine Gun, whose bullets were as powerful as those from a Rocket Launcher, yet it took up only the space of regular bullets.
However, the firing interval was too long. According to reports from the Dollars side of that country, they had already developed a complete version of the firing mechanism. Unfortunately, Zheng Yifan couldn't get his hands on it for now; crossing oceans seemed simple in the real world, but in the Apocalyptic World, it was practically a death wish.
The ocean had become a Human Forbidden Zone. The marine life there was incredibly fierce; Zheng Yifan should not venture into it. Even being near the shore posed a life-threatening risk.
Thus, they could only use domestic firearms. Even so, their lethality was considerable; a reinforced squad could handle over a dozen people easily, given the difference in equipment and personnel quality.
One could not simply look at Hollywood; the movies there tell stories about protagonists, while real wars are fought by real soldiers. Moreover, they would not dispatch troops for such trivial matters.
What awaited Zheng Yifan were those Security Organizations, like IA Alive F that one often sees on television.
Zheng Yifan and his team didn't care; if anyone dared to provoke them, they had enough confidence to repel these individuals.
They brought war, not peace. Right now, Qian Weiping needed protection from Zheng Yifan and his team. The Intelligence Organization had no goodwill towards Zheng Yifan; their upcoming actions needed to remain confidential. Even though Qian Weiping was a bankrupt individual, he was still a world-renowned scientist. If they wanted to escape the situation, they couldn't rely on legal channels.
"What’s the situation?" Zheng Yifan floated down from mid-air. A distance of less than ten meters felt like jumping over a ditch to him; he landed effortlessly and even took a moment to gaze at the distant scenery while floating in the air.
In just over a second, Zheng Yifan's feet hit the ground, and after a strong impact, he finally set Jessica and Qian Weiping down. Among the two, Jessica was startled but not in a panic anymore. It felt like riding a roller coaster, but Qian Weiping was different; he knew how terrifying the cliffs were here. A fall could mean certain death, with nothing but hard rocks below. Initially, he had refused to jump down with someone holding him tightly. Yet, in the blink of an eye, they were already on the ground.
The ground beneath them was incredibly hard, and stepping on it sent a strong shock through their bodies.
Zheng Yifan felt nothing at all. Jessica was especially taken care of by him, while Qian Weiping, as a fellow, had no one to look after him. His feet hit the ground hard, and he immediately felt intense vibrations and sharp pain.
Though it quickly faded, the pain nearly brought tears to his eyes.
This was still thanks to Zheng Yifan's efforts to control his body and reduce the impact multiple times while in mid-air.
"Get out!" Zheng Yifan pointed outside. The laboratory behind them had already been cleared out by him when they weren't paying attention; nothing could be left behind. Of course, the Solar Photovoltaic Panels laid outside couldn't be taken away. They could leave those for further research!
"Yes! Boss!" Several bodyguards nodded and rushed out. Their weapons were top-notch, but their physical prowess was even more formidable. Each one moved like a cheetah hidden in the jungle.
Zheng Yifan was certain that their combat abilities were ordinary yet could almost hold their own against a Second-Level Zombie. As for who would win or lose, that remained uncertain; after all, Second-Level Zombies were incredibly powerful, and these were just ordinary people.
Once back in the jungle, Zheng Yifan and his team moved much faster with clearer objectives. He initially thought about persuading Qian Weiping further, but as soon as that Zombie Crystal was revealed, it captivated this madman completely. All that remained in his eyes was that Zombie Crystal; even while fleeing, he clutched it tightly in his right hand, continuously feeling its curvature.
Zheng Yifan didn’t dwell on it; those from the Security Organization would surely investigate Qian Weiping's residence. That place was far from safe; it was rich in Vital Energy and could be considered a connection point between two worlds. However, this connection point wasn’t meant for people to come and go but rather for Vital Energy to seep into the real world.
"Boss! We're in trouble; those bastards have already caught up with us!" the Bodyguard Captain reported to Zheng Yifan while setting traps along the way.
Since they had been discovered, they might as well play with them. They weren’t afraid because in the jungle, they were kings. More importantly, their weaponry and equipment were from an entirely different era compared to those Mudbugs.
These matters should not have been managed by civilians; they ought to be handled by the military. The bodyguards' thermal power had long surpassed that of the members, and their weapons seemed laughable compared to Zheng Yifan's, akin to mere fire sticks. They could easily take them down from hundreds of meters away, but Zheng Yifan simply did not want to stir up trouble.
This was America, where even the death of a police officer could cause an uproar. Zheng Yifan did not want to deal with lawsuits. Although he would undoubtedly win, it would be a waste of time, and time was the one thing Zheng Yifan lacked the most.
The jungle was dense; if he wanted to break through, it would require some winding paths and might take several hours. Zheng Yifan felt as if he were strolling leisurely, utterly bored.
For him, it was indeed like that. The enemies in front of him were ordinary humans; they were even inferior to First-Level Zombies. To Zheng Yifan, First-Level Zombies were merely targets for practice—a decent sport that at least allowed him to warm up.
Even Second-Level Zombies were no different.
Now, those pursuing Zheng Yifan were chasing a delusion. As soon as they came within a hundred meters of him, he could sense their presence and evade them in advance. They had no idea about Zheng Yifan's power; they only knew that their Boss was shrouded in mystery.
As he passed by them, it was almost as if he were teasing them; these people could hardly tell east from west anymore.
Meanwhile, at Qian Weiping's residence in the distance, the situation was not looking good. After arriving there, a group began climbing to gain entry into Qian Weiping's home. In just over ten minutes, they could breach the place. The initial scouts who went in had already relayed the news outside but remained silent otherwise.
The following individuals continued to climb one after another.
It wasn't until a sudden roar echoed that they realized something had gone wrong here as well. (To be continued...)
