Jufeng held the blade against Shangguan Wangyu's neck, with Chuyang anxiously following behind. They left the room but could not escape any further.
Shangguan Wangyu showed no sign of fear, as if the blade at his throat were a mere toy, dull and harmless; or perhaps his neck belonged to someone else entirely, an unrelated person.
"We are not afraid, but not understanding fear does not mean we can be invincible. More often than not, strength determines everything."
Shangguan Wangyu regained the composure expected of a prince, temporarily suppressing his feelings for Chuyang.
"I hate you, truly hate you. You should not have taken my loved ones away. Now Microbirth is infatuated with you. If it weren't for you, if it weren't for that initial disruption, Microbirth would have safely returned to my side, and I would not have suffered from longing for over a decade."
Shangguan Wangyu was genuinely furious, to the point where he could voice such damaging words about his own reputation in front of everyone.
Tony had already arrived at the scene, feeling anxious and distressed.
He paid no attention to Shangguan Wangyu's words; instead, he began worrying about his own fate, contemplating whom to blame to extricate himself from this situation.
Listening to Shangguan Wangyu's words, Jufeng thought the prince was utterly deluded and perverse.
"At that time, Chuyang was only * years old. How could you do such things to a girl? You're truly worse than a beast!"
Upon hearing Jufeng's accusation, Shangguan Wangyu guessed that Romain had uncovered some clues. This person seemed to be fated to oppose him at every turn.
However, those were merely clues; all evidence documenting the events of that year had been destroyed. Romain could never guess that a person's body could truly reverse its aging process.
Shangguan Wangyu sneered and said, "You know nothing! You think you're some noble guardian of virtue, but in reality, you're nothing more than a third party unworthy of comparison to a pig or dog. But none of this matters anymore because a dead person is not worth my anger."
As soon as Shangguan Wangyu finished speaking, Jufeng suddenly sensed something was wrong; he felt all his energy blocked. For a brief moment, he found himself unable to move.
In that instant, Shangguan Wangyu abruptly leaned back, creating distance between his neck and the blade. Then he swiftly slipped away through the gap.
As Jufeng watched Shangguan Wangyu break free from his grip, he suddenly unleashed his power, forcefully escaping that state and slashing the blade towards the departing Shangguan Wangyu.
"Rip!"
A golden collar had appeared around Shangguan Wangyu's neck at some point, protecting him.
The sound was that of the blade cutting against the golden collar.
That sound confirmed that Shangguan Wangyu had truly escaped Jufeng's control.
"Bang!"
Almost immediately, a bullet shot towards Jufeng. However, by then, Jufeng had already moved from his original position, and the bullet only struck the blade.
Jufeng's figure vanished in an instant, and where he had been standing, bullets rained down like a sudden storm.
Shangguan Wangyu stood in front of Chuyang, blocking her path to escape.
He harshly commanded his subordinates, "Capture Jufeng, regardless of life or death."
Chuyang was taken aback by his words. Overcoming her fear, she began to strike and hit Shangguan Wangyu.
"You can't hurt my dad; otherwise, just wait for the bodies to pile up."
Shangguan Wangyu seemed to be in a terrible mood. He ordered those responsible for protecting Chuyang to take her back to her room and coldly warned her, "If you die, he and all those on Earth will definitely not survive!"
Feeling Shangguan Wangyu's genuine anger, Chuyang stopped her outburst, her eyes becoming dull and lifeless.
Inside Huankezhao, the sound of gunfire echoed, a rare occurrence in this place. Many were puzzled, but the official explanation was that it was a military exercise. Given the unusual circumstances, this explanation seemed plausible.
Liu Xing heard the gunfire and felt uneasy. He tried to gather information in Huankezhao but found nothing conclusive. It wasn't until he returned home and saw Jufeng that he finally felt at ease.
"Everyone can relax; Chuyang is very safe now. For some unknown reason, Shangguan Wangyu has been quite protective of her. However, my actions today may have exposed our whereabouts, so we need to be more cautious moving forward. Old Horse, is that alright?"
Old Horse's face brightened at the news and assured Jufeng, "Brother Jufeng, don't worry. The brothers are all veterans of Magellanic Star; there won't be any issues."
Jufeng felt reassured by Old Horse but was still dissatisfied with today's events. He overlooked a crucial point: how could the prince of Huankezhao be merely a frail scholar? The glimpse of Shangguan Wangyu's prowess today convinced Jufeng that his strength was formidable; his martial arts skills likely rivaled Jufeng's own.
"What a hidden talent! Star, remember what happened today. Even if we see Chuyang again in the future, do your best to avoid her; don’t let her see you. She might not be able to control her emotions. You must learn to endure as well."
Liu Xing nodded, knowing the pain in his heart was something only he could understand. To completely rescue Chuyang, a thorough and detailed plan was necessary—clearly not something that could be resolved overnight.
Liu Xing continued his daily work while Old Horse searched for historical data on Huankezhao. Unfortunately, progress was slow, and it seemed they were heading towards an impasse.
Jufeng and Vera were still looking for ways to rescue Chuyang. Later, Liu Xing caught a distant glimpse of Chuyang; she appeared to be doing relatively well but looked somewhat gaunt.
Just as everything was proceeding in an orderly manner, a thunderbolt struck from the Magellan Star.
The Magellan Star had fallen.
Old Horse sent someone to bring Jufeng and Vera back. After returning, Jufeng saw some images and videos transmitted by Liu Gulang, and he was shaken to the core, unable to calm down for a long time.
"Brother Jufeng, please don't be too agitated. Our people have safely escaped. The Dragon Breaker Army protected them and moved them to a safe location. It's just that some property was lost due to the war, which cannot be recovered, and some businesses affected may have gone down the drain."
