Since the beginning of his memory, Jufeng had never been so intoxicated. Although, as Vera thought, he was still in control even while drunk, he was indeed on the edge. Acting required total immersion; only then could one avoid revealing any flaws.
The next day, Jufeng woke up at the usual time, but his visit to Yang Fang was postponed until the afternoon. Seeing that Jufeng was neither disheveled nor particularly downcast, Yang Fang felt relieved.
"Brother Ju Feng, you won't blame Yang Ge for not informing you of my identity beforehand, will you?"
Although Yang Fang should have been the one to be blamed, there was no trace of guilt on his face. Jufeng chuckled and replied, "Yang Ge, what are you saying? I know we can't make this public. If you didn't trust me as a brother, you wouldn't have taken the risk to involve me. So in the end, I should thank you."
Yang Fang felt even more pleased with Jufeng's understanding. Last night, they had only focused on drinking and hadn't discussed the specifics of joining the Terrorist group. Now that the moment was right, he naturally wanted to clarify things with Jufeng.
"Brother Ju Feng, just follow me from now on. As for your identity, I will inform the higher-ups. From now on, you are no longer a slacker but a supervisor. Sister-in-law can take a break and stay home to take care of you."
Jufeng nodded repeatedly in agreement; this was indeed a blessing he had received, and he felt deeply grateful.
After hearing Yang Fang's arrangements, Jufeng quietly noted them down. However, he suddenly became hesitant and appeared as if he wanted to say something but held back, which piqued Yang Fang's curiosity.
"If Brother Ju Feng has any difficulties, just speak directly to Yang Ge. Things are different now; we can find solutions together—there's nothing we can't handle."
Jufeng shook his head and sincerely said, "Yang Ge is overthinking. I've received your care and am living comfortably now; there's nothing wrong at all. It's just that when I came to this D156 planet seeking a way out, I brought along a few brothers who were old friends from my gang days. One of them is Ning Xin—the fat guy—who came with me. I was wondering if it would be possible for them to join us too."
"Of course," Jufeng interjected before Yang Fang could respond. "I only have this idea and haven't approached them yet. If you disagree, I'll cut ties with them and won't associate with them anymore."
Hearing Jufeng's words, Yang Fang fell into a brief silence and began to contemplate; this was not a trivial matter and required careful consideration.
Yang Fang did not immediately refuse but instead negotiated, "You know our identity is very sensitive. The Cosmic Police are cracking down hard these days; we must be cautious in everything we do. How about this: if you have time, invite them over for drinks and dinner so I can assess the situation before making a decision."
Jufeng felt a surge of joy upon hearing the news and immediately agreed.
In the following days, Jufeng leisurely took on the role of supervisor, frequently visiting the mining site and engaging in lively discussions with the Terrorists. The workers who had once labored alongside Jufeng in a mine were envious to see him rise to such heights. However, no matter how many versions of the story were speculated, none could truly grasp the details.
During his free time, Jufeng met with Hua Cheng several times, under the guise of old friends. The main purpose was to advise him on how to behave and what to say when meeting Yang Fang.
When the time was right, he facilitated meetings between Hua Cheng and Yang Fang.
Thanks to Jufeng's prior arrangements, a rather perfect Underworld connection was created out of thin air. Yang Fang noticed that Hua Cheng and his companions were robust and seemed to follow Jufeng closely, making them easier to manage. Yang Fang also verified their backgrounds multiple times and found no issues. Thus, after several banquets, he decided to lay everything on the table with Hua Cheng and his group.
The confrontation was successful; more accurately, Hua Cheng and his companions' performance was outstanding, even more so than Jufeng's. After a series of astonished reactions and pleasant surprises, the ranks of the Terrorists on Planet D156 expanded further.
Mining operations continued in an orderly fashion. For the entire mining endeavor, Jufeng and Hua Cheng's involvement was merely a ripple; once the winds settled, the surface returned to calm.
As for the infiltration of the Terrorists, it could only progress to this point. Jufeng often casually asked Yang Fang about more details regarding the Terrorists but could only glean superficial information. There was little valuable insight into the overall situation.
Thus, assistance from headquarters would be necessary moving forward.
On a serene afternoon, Jufeng had been in this mining area for nearly a month and had been enjoying his role as supervisor for about three weeks. The tranquil days dulled one's spirit; however, Jufeng had something on his mind.
Supervising alongside a Terrorist in a mine, they would often engage in casual banter as a pastime—nothing unusual until…
"Hey buddy, do you hear something? Listen!"
Ju Feng, the Six Senses Superhuman, suddenly heard a faint yet dense sound coming from a distance. Upon careful listening, he recognized it was the Cosmic Police arriving.
The Terrorist perked up his ears but heard nothing unusual, thinking that Jufeng was just teasing him. Just as he was about to engage in some playful banter, he noticed several Terrorists rushing towards him in a panic. Seeing the anxious and fearful expressions on their faces, he realized something was seriously wrong.
Jufeng followed the Terrorist's gaze and heard one of the leading figures shout, "Notify the Brothers to retreat! The Cosmic Police are here!"
Upon hearing this, both Jufeng and the Terrorist froze in shock. This was their sworn enemy; how could they have suddenly discovered their location?
Without a moment's hesitation, the two quickly ran back to inform everyone.
The workers in the mine heard the commotion outside and stopped their work, gathering at the entrance to observe. They saw that the usual overseers were neglecting their duties and scattering in all directions like frightened ducks, unsure of what was happening.
Before long, a barrage of gunfire erupted, and armed police appeared in the workers' line of sight. It was then that they realized the severity of the situation.
Forgetting about their unpaid wages from the Boss, the workers panicked and began to flee in all directions. Ordinary Common People had never witnessed such chaos. In an instant, throughout the entire mining area—every corner, path, and ravine—was filled with fleeing figures—the whole mountain was thrown into disarray.
...
Jufeng ran out alongside the Terrorist but parted ways midway. The Terrorist went off to find his team while Jufeng headed straight for Yang Fang's residence.
When Jufeng arrived, Yang Fang had already received word of the situation. He pulled out all the hidden weapons, and there were several Terrorists in the room arming themselves and preparing for action.
Seeing Jufeng arrive, Yang Fang felt a surge of relief and said, "Feng, you arrived just in time! Quickly join the Brothers in retreat. The Cosmic Police must have gotten wind of our plans; this time, we can't protect the terror mine."
Jufeng gasped for breath, pausing for a moment before saying, "Yang Ge, I came to tell you as soon as I heard the gunfire. Fortunately, you already knew. But I can't leave just yet; my wife is still at home. I'll go find her and then meet up with Brothers."
Hearing this, Yang Fang felt even more moved. The fact that Jufeng came to find him immediately proved that he truly respected him. Moreover, he did not abandon his wife, which showed Jufeng's deep sense of loyalty.
"That's fine, but you should take this gun. We'll leave from the southernmost mine. Make sure to hurry and join us."
Jufeng took the handgun, nodded heavily, and then started running again.
Watching Jufeng leave, Yang Fang and the others returned to their combat readiness. This was not their first encounter with the Cosmic Police, so they were all quite serious.
However, this time they were overthinking it because the Cosmic Police were not there to eliminate them; they were simply there to drive them away.
