Infinite Strongest G
Jebed was gone, but his threat continued to haunt Li Hong.
However, Li Hong didn’t worry too much. Jebed's words were harsh, but they were nothing more than bluster. He wouldn’t do anything to Li Hong, nor would he dare to. The only real difficulty lay in the fact that returning to Huaxia was indeed going to be a challenge.
The United States wouldn’t let him go; even if Li Hong sprouted wings, he wouldn’t be able to return.
Lin Ruxian came out holding Yuchen and saw Li Hong lost in thought on the sofa. Biting her lip, she asked, “Are you… okay?”
Although she had been hiding inside, she hadn’t missed a single word of the conversation between Jebed and Li Hong.
At that moment, Lin Ruxian was extremely frightened.
She wasn’t like Li Hong; she didn’t have such a strong heart. Offending a superpower ranked number one in the world and being restricted from leaving the country—Lin Ruxian couldn’t help but feel fear deep inside.
But there was nothing she could do; the only person she could rely on now was Li Hong by her side.
“Don’t be afraid, I’m not dead yet!”
Li Hong took Lin Ruxian’s hand and gently reassured her, “They’re just bluffing. Aside from not being able to leave the country, they won’t dare to do anything to us. You just stick with me; wherever I go, you go.”
“Okay!” Lin Ruxian nodded.
Yuchen, confused and unaware of why Li Hong and Lin Ruxian had become so serious, felt a sense of fear from the oppressive atmosphere in the room.
“Daddy, can we go home? I’m scared…”
"Don't be afraid, Daddy is here!"
As a man, even though Yuchen and Lin Ruxian were not his real wife and daughter, Li Hong had to reassure them.
"I promise you, Daddy, we won't be long before we can go back!"
Yuchen didn't understand but nodded anyway.
After comforting the two women in the room, Li Hong picked up the phone on the table and dialed Mark's number.
"Mark, are you ready?"
"Ready, Boss. But are you really coming? I just heard from the CIA..."
Before Mark could finish, Li Hong interrupted him in a low voice, "Not on the phone!"
Mark wasn't foolish; he instantly realized that the call was likely being monitored. He quickly replied, "Got it, I'll come pick you up."
"Get a bigger car; my wife and child are coming too."
"Okay!"
The call ended, and a few agents in a nearby café holding surveillance equipment shook their heads helplessly.
"Boss, this guy has already figured out that we're monitoring the call!"
"I understand. Continue monitoring and report to me immediately if anything happens."
"Okay!"
...
The black Ford Mondeo cruised along the wide Main Street. Mark glanced at the three Cadillacs trailing behind him in the rearview mirror and couldn't help but chuckle.
"These fools are really sticking close!"
Li Hong smiled lightly, not paying much attention to them. He turned to Mark, who was driving, and asked, "How's the preparation for the press conference going?"
"Everything is ready. Many manufacturers have withdrawn their exhibition teams due to the plummeting stock prices, so we have enough space to use," Mark replied casually.
Li Hong nodded. "Good. Let's give the battered American economy another kick while it's down!"
Mark furrowed his brow, curious. "Boss, are we really going to set the price that way? This could cause a big problem."
"Why shouldn't we set that price? It's just a matter of how much profit we make. Right now, I'd rather earn a little less and inject some medicine into this stock market," Li Hong said, his eyes cold.
Jebed's various actions hadn't caused him any direct harm, but they had certainly annoyed Li Hong. He was more than willing to create a bit of trouble for Jebed wherever he could.
Mark clicked his tongue. "Boss, with you doing this, aren't you afraid of a desperate counterattack from them?"
"Please watch your wording. They can only struggle in their final moments; it hardly counts as a counterattack. In the face of the tide of change, no matter how many billions they are worth, they are all just trash," Li Hong said flatly.
Just like him, Li Hong was not unaware of who was pulling the strings behind the scenes, but even if he knew, he showed no sign of it.
History would eventually prove that those who stand against the tide either perish under its weight or bring about their own demise. It seemed that these large corporations had yet to recognize their position and still wished to struggle against the current.
Unfortunately, Li Hong would no longer give them the chance to fight back. When the tide comes crashing in, refusing to yield means certain death.
The car soon drove into the main venue of ES. Thanks to special permission from the Organizing Committee, Mark's vehicle was allowed to bypass the parking lot and head straight into the main hall.
Notably, the three Cadillacs following them also did not stop outside but drove straight in.
Neither Mark nor Li Hong expressed surprise at this. After all, these people were from privileged departments; if they couldn't manage even this, they had no business being in the intelligence field.
After bringing Yuchen and Lin Ruxian through a special passage into the main hall, Li Hong made his way directly to the booth of Sweet Potato Technology Company.
Thanks to Mark's arrangements, the booth had been temporarily transformed into a press conference setup.
The audience was already packed with reporters and ES visitors from around the world. They eagerly anticipated the upcoming Sweet Potato Technology press conference, where the price and release information for the Virtual Helmet would be announced.
Li Hong's arrival did not elicit applause from the crowd; they assumed he was just another visitor there to witness the live event.
Only the media from Huaxia looked thoughtfully at Lin Ruxian.
What brought Lin Ruxian to Las Vegas?
Then, under everyone's watchful gaze, Li Hong tossed Yuchen into Lin Ruxian's arms and, after adjusting his attire, stepped heavily onto the stage.
"What the hell, I remember who he is now! Isn't that Lin Ruxian's previously announced fiancé?" a reporter from Huaxia exclaimed, pounding his chest in realization.
Another person’s eyes lit up as they looked at Yuchen being held by Lin Ruxian, quickly instructing the photographer to capture the moment: "Hurry, hurry, hurry! Lin Ruxian has kept this under wraps for so long; she and her husband already have such a big child!"
These were all entertainment-focused media outlets. Even though other media knew Lin Ruxian's identity, they did not shift their attention to her but instead focused intently on Li Hong on stage.
They understood that compared to any celebrity gossip, the Virtual Helmet was unprecedented big news.
Now that the mysterious CEO of Sweet Potato Technology had surfaced, it turned out to be Lin Ruxian's hidden husband from the Huaxia film industry. This news was truly the biggest scoop!
The chaos among Huaxia media left other outlets puzzled. After inquiring about the inside story, they were astonished to discover that this mysterious CEO of Sweet Potato Technology actually had a superstar wife.
However, this was all trivial information; compared to the upcoming announcement, such matters were merely appetizers.
