Upon returning home, just as Li Hong settled Yuchen onto the bed, he was faced with a dilemma.
Where should Lin Ruxian sleep?
There were indeed several rooms available, but none had bedding. The bed lacked blankets and sheets; he couldn't possibly let Lin Ruxian sleep on the floor, could he?
Of the three beds in the house, one was occupied by Aunt Chen, the nanny, and another by Yuchen. The only remaining bed was in the master bedroom, which belonged to Li Hong.
Seeing Lin Ruxian yawning on the sofa, Li Hong approached her with a resigned expression. "There's no other way; you'll have to sleep in my room tonight. I'll manage on the sofa."
Lin Ruxian looked at Li Hong, clearly displeased. "What’s wrong? Are you that afraid to sleep next to me?"

"You haven’t done anything yet; how do you know if I would regret it? Who knows, I might even be happy about it," Lin Ruxian retorted with a smirk.
Li Hong fell silent and turned to head toward his room.
"Not sleeping on the sofa anymore?" Lin Ruxian teased.
Without looking back, Li Hong replied, "You can sleep wherever you want; I’m curious to see whether you choose the sofa or decide to sleep with me."
Lin Ruxian's face flushed red as she silently cursed Li Hong for being so unreasonable.
Although she spoke sweetly, Lin Ruxian felt a bit uneasy about the idea of sleeping with Li Hong. It wasn't that she disagreed; it was simply fear.
After all, the first time was supposed to be painful, right?
This fear made Lin Ruxian hesitant to confront Li Hong, so she curled up on the sofa instead.
She didn't know how long it had been, but just as she was about to drift off to sleep, she was startled to find herself being lifted by a pair of hands.
As she prepared to react, Lin Ruxian recognized from the familiar scent that it was indeed Li Hong who had picked her up. With this realization, she dared not move, only curious about what Li Hong intended to do.
