This idea resonated well with Li Hong. PUBG cannot charge fees because it was created to promote the Virtual Helmet. Since charging isn't an option, they must come up with a reasonable monetization strategy.
In competitive games, items that affect game balance absolutely cannot be sold. Therefore, selling character outfits and skins is indeed a good idea.
Since Mark already had plans in mind, Li Hong didn't press him further. If PUBG were placed on the P Platform, it could potentially make a significant profit. However, placing it in the virtual world would likely only bring fame. Making money would still be quite challenging.
Nevertheless, for the sake of promoting the virtual world, sacrificing some easily obtainable profits is worth it.
After teaming up with Mark, Li Hong quickly clicked to match as the team leader.
With the assistance of robots, the matching process was remarkably swift.
In less than a few seconds, the match was completed, and Li Hong and Mark found themselves aboard an aircraft.
The plane was large, specifically designed for transporting cargo. However, there were no goods inside the cabin—only two rows of seats attached to the sides.
The seats were filled with people, each carrying a parachute pack on their backs.
Li Hong and Mark glanced toward the back of the plane and noticed that it was open, revealing a view of drifting clouds and blue skies outside.
In front of everyone was a high-definition electronic display. On it was a large electronic map.
The map indicated the location where they would soon engage in battle.
Exchanging a glance with Mark, Li Hong quickly tapped a yellow dot on the map and said to Mark, "Let's go; we’ll jump here."
"Airport?" Mark smiled, filled with curiosity.
The airport was the most contested location on the entire map, known only to designers like them. How could Li Hong, who had never played this game, suddenly choose the airport?
However, the plane was already flying over the airport, leaving no time for Mark to voice his doubts. At that moment, Li Hong had already dragged him and jumped out of the back door of the cabin.
Aside from Mark and Li Hong, the rest were robots. The robots had no awareness of choosing a location; they simply sat in the plane waiting to be kicked out.
So when Li Hong and Mark jumped down, not a single robot chose to follow them.
Considering the players' tolerance levels, the parachuting process felt quite safe. Unless calculated deliberately, one would hardly notice they were descending at high speed.
This adjustment was also made to prevent players with weak hearts from being overwhelmed by the sudden impact of jumping out of the plane.
After this change, although it still looked frightening, it was merely scary for those afraid of heights. The descent appeared very slow, so naturally, no one felt fear from hitting the ground.
As they descended through the air, Mark couldn't help his curiosity and asked Li Hong, "Boss, how did you know this airport is the best landing spot on the entire map?"
"I guessed; I don't really know," Li Hong replied with a smile.
He had never played PUBG; how could he know these things? He was simply making a random choice based on his own speculation.
However, Li Hong didn't expect that his random choice would turn out to be the best spot on the entire map. It was quite a coincidence that he couldn't have anticipated.
Hearing this from Li Hong, Mark felt speechless but not surprised. Some people's luck was just too good, or perhaps their intuition was exceptional.
To randomly select such an ideal landing spot was impressive.
Truth be told, although Li Hong understood the PUBG project deeply, it was still his first time playing, which made him slightly nervous.
Fortunately, their opponents were merely mechanized robots. With a chief designer of PUBG by his side, Li Hong felt a bit more reassured.
After descending to a certain height, the System began to remind Li Hong to open his parachute. If he opened it too late, the impact upon landing could be fatal.
Valuing his life, Li Hong quickly followed the System's prompt and deployed the parachute on his back.
Mark estimated that he had played this test game quite a bit and was well-versed in its mechanics.
The two soon landed in an open area next to the Airport Tower.
Originally, Mark intended to land directly on the rooftop, but that was not feasible. Li Hong struggled with controlling his parachute; just managing to land safely was already a challenge, let alone aiming for the roof.
Fortunately, their opponents were all robots, and they had been kicked off the plane at the northernmost part of the map. This eased Mark's worries as he followed Li Hong down to the ground.
As their feet touched the ground, the parachutes behind them vanished mysteriously.
However, both of them were tough-minded individuals and found nothing strange about it.
Looking around, Li Hong stopped Mark, who was about to disperse in search of equipment, insisting that they search together.
Though Mark found it amusing yet frustrating, he abandoned his plan to act alone and reluctantly took Li Hong—the burden—along as they began their equipment search from the tower.
The tower was tall, with only spiral staircases on either side for access. In Mark's memory, the equipment that spawned in the tower was quite valuable.
Leading Li Hong up the right staircase of the tower, they reached a corner on the second flight where a jumble of equipment lay scattered.
As soon as Li Hong stepped forward, an item list appeared before him.

“……” As a designer for PUBG, Mark was feeling utterly overwhelmed.
What was going on? How could the items be like this?
Li Hong had no idea about the complexities behind it; he thought these were just ordinary pieces of equipment.
Happily picking up the gear, he attached the accessories to the 98k, and then, with a bewildered Mark in tow, Li Hong headed towards the next stairwell corner.

Watching Li Hong joyfully gather the gear from the ground, Mark had completely numbed out.
He wondered if there was something wrong with the equipment spawn System.
It was already unscientific to have so much gear spawn at one stairwell corner. The key issue was that all of it was high-tier equipment that seemed unattainable. Although these items were common in late-game circles, getting this entire set right upon landing was truly problematic!
No one has ever seen a level three set refresh like this, except for killing and looting.
This is not scientific! Could it be that the game's refresh system really has a problem? Mark's expression was a bit dazed.
It wasn't until Li Hong happily handed him a frying pan that he snapped back to reality. The refresh system should be fine; they, as designers, had debugged it countless times.
The problem lies not with the system, but with the players.
Thinking of this, Mark cast a forlorn glance at Li Hong, who was walking ahead, his eyes filled with despair and resentment.
Is this what it means to be possessed by a lucky player?
