"Ha, is this really happening?" Li Hong thought in surprise.
He took out his sleek device and unlocked the screen, confirming that the Cheat Code had indeed arrived.
"404: You have successfully ordered the Business Tycoon Package. Starting today, you will receive Wish Fulfillment*1, Diminished Intelligence Aura*1, Prophet's Eye*1. We wish you great success on your journey!"
"Fine, let's go with it," Li Hong said, lighting a melancholic white cigarette and chuckling amidst the swirling smoke.
Was the Supreme God worried that he wouldn't understand? Did they really need to provide such an introduction?
Under the blazing sun, the bright yet gentle rays poured down unabashedly upon Baisheng Building.
In that sunlight, Li Hong's figure appeared somewhat lonely and helpless.
That mischievous River Crab, that Shiny Bald Head who often got flustered over trivial matters—both were truly gone for good.
A flash of white light passed by; on Li Hong's wrist, the reincarnation watch he always carried finally completed its mission and vanished completely.
"Goodbye, Li Hong!"
The Motor Lola, who never liked to talk and always foolishly referred to herself as the boss, was also gone.
He stood quietly in the corridor until a burning sensation tingled through his fingers. Looking down, Li Hong realized that his cigarette had somehow dwindled down to just a stub.
With a chuckle, Li Hong hummed a tune he had been humming since the beginning and shook his head as he left the corridor.
Back at Sweet Potato Films, Li Hong unusually did not linger in the office daydreaming. Instead, he asked Charlie for the financial reports from Sweet Potato Films over the past few months and began to review them quietly.
As he flipped through page after page of documents, Li Hong finally gained a new understanding of his enterprise.
Setting aside the situation with his fists for now, Sweet Potato Films was basically no different from an empty shell.
The only saving grace was that the rights to "I Am Red Riding Hood, I Love the Big Bad Wolf" were still in his hands.
But apart from that copyright, Sweet Potato Films felt entirely hollow. The equipment was merely lifeless; there wasn't a single proper staff member in place. The only professional among them seemed to be Lu Mao, the diligent director. Everyone else was nothing but amateurs.
A single thought led to the establishment of Sweet Potato Films. At that time, they had no idea of the challenges ahead, naively dreaming of becoming a flagship in the entertainment industry. Looking back now, Li Hong must have been out of his mind.
It's no wonder so many people in the industry looked down on Sweet Potato Films. While part of it was due to Sweet Potato's attitude towards others, more likely it was because they never even bothered to acknowledge Sweet Potato Films.
After all, Sweet Potato Films had previously appeared to be nothing more than a shell company. Although they managed to make some money, no one in the industry took them seriously.
"It seems we need to completely overhaul Sweet Potato," Li Hong said with a bitter smile.
They had initially thought it would be simple, believing that with Soulmate and the others, they could carve out a place in the entertainment world. Now, if they didn't make some changes to Sweet Potato, they probably wouldn't get far.
With that thought in mind, Li Hong set down the report he was holding and picked up the internal phone on his desk, calling Lu Mao, Soulmate, Charlie, and the others to his office.
These individuals were truly the core of Sweet Potato: Charlie, Soulmate, Lu Mao, Eastern Maiden, Roshifu, and himself, Li Hong. Aside from them, the rest of the Soul Clan members were just hanging around on set; they couldn't be considered core members.
Once everyone had gathered, Li Hong waited a moment before speaking up. "Everyone, since our first project premiered about half a year ago, I've been thinking. Continuing like this is simply not sustainable. If we want Sweet Potato Films to grow strong and successful, we need to become more formalized. Therefore, I’ve decided to implement a deep restructuring and reform of Sweet Potato Films. If you have any good suggestions or ideas, please feel free to share them so we can discuss together."
"Boss, does this mean you're planning to cut staff? What will happen to our Soul Clan?" Soulmate asked the question he was most worried about.
Although most of the Soul Clan members were scattered across various locations, there were still over a thousand who remained at Sweet Potato Films. These individuals had not found work elsewhere. Despite Soulmate's efforts to encourage them to seek jobs and become self-sufficient, it often yielded little success.
Now that Li Hong mentioned restructuring Sweet Potato, Soulmate naturally began to worry about his people. They had only recently arrived in this Blue Star world and would struggle to find suitable work anytime soon. If Li Hong truly decided to dismiss them all, what would happen?
Li Hong understood Soulmate's concerns. Even if he couldn't afford to support the Soul Clan members' livelihoods—he simply couldn't bring himself to let them go.
The members of the Soul Clan were incredibly loyal employees; only someone out of their mind would consider dismissing them.
Thus, Li Hong reassured Soulmate: "Don't worry; not only will I not let you go, but I also want you to call back those members of the Soul Clan who are outside. The restructuring of Sweet Potato is meant for growth and strength—not for cutting staff."
"That's great! On behalf of my people, thank you, Boss!" Soulmate sighed in relief.
Bringing his people into this unfamiliar world weighed heavily on Soulmate as their leader. Despite his usual cheerful demeanor, he carried a significant burden inside.
As long as their survival issues remained unresolved, Soulmate would never find peace of mind.
For the sake of his clan, Soulmate was willing to do anything. Even if it meant pretending to be a gay man to please the people inside Sweet Potato, he still followed Li Hong into dangerous situations. Everything Soulmate did was for the survival of his clan in this world.
Li Hong looked at Soulmate with gratitude, giving him a reassuring glance. No matter what, he would never abandon the Soul Clan.
With diligent and loyal workers, how could they give up?
After resolving Soulmate's issue, Charlie spoke up, "Boss, I think it's time to clarify everyone's responsibilities. A proper Film Company has each department fulfilling its own role, and our current management structure is too chaotic..."
Li Hong nodded; he knew that Sweet Potato Films was indeed too disorganized. Often, everything relied on his impulsive decisions as the boss, leaving everyone else unsure of what to do.
This was not good. In a company where all departments waited for the boss's instructions, it was certainly not a healthy environment. A healthy company should be able to operate smoothly even in the boss's absence without encountering any problems.
"Let's do this: we will temporarily establish the Artist Department, Production Department, Distribution Department, Public Relations Department, and Internal Affairs Department. I will serve as the chairman of the board, Charlie will also be the head of Public Relations. Soulmate will lead the Artist Department, Lu Mao will head the Production Department, and the Distribution Department will remain vacant for now. The head of Internal Affairs will be Soul Sphere," Li Hong decided.
