In an instant, a Blood Corpse lunged at me with a swift motion, its hand reaching out to stab at my chest.
I could no longer resist, nor did I want to. No matter how many Zombies I killed, no matter how much witchcraft I used, no matter how many Talismans I employed, there was no escaping this fate. Scenes flashed through my mind in an instant before fading away. This must be death; it wasn’t so difficult after all.
A sudden sound shattered the silence.
It wasn’t the sound of my neck breaking.
I opened my eyes wide and saw a soldier collapsing in front of me, a bayonet still clutched in his hand. His neck was broken, blood gushing forth as his bayonet pierced the Blood Corpse’s chest. But it was futile; the Blood Corpse seized both sides of the soldier's neck and ripped it off!
I stood there in shock.
Blood sprayed out, splattering across my face.
It was hot—scalding hot.
I stared in disbelief.
The Blood Corpse hurled the soldier's lifeless body aside and lunged at me once more.
Another soldier charged forward, his bayonet plunging into the neck of the Blood Corpse.
But it was utterly useless.
The Blood Corpse reached out and snapped the blade in half. Then, with a swift motion, it seized the soldier by the neck and twisted it violently!
Blood sprayed everywhere, splattering onto my head, my face, my mouth, and my nose.
It was hot—scalding hot—and it made me feel sick.
I shouted, "Enough already! Stop coming at me! Just go! I can die alone!"
"I have to bring you back," Professor Wen insisted as he rushed toward the Blood Corpse, a grenade in hand.
"Commander, let me!" Li Squad Leader grabbed Professor Wen and then hurled himself at the Blood Corpse, shoving the grenade toward it.
"Boom!"
A flash of fire erupted!
The explosion left a gaping hole in the chest of the Blood Corpse, while Li Squad Leader was torn apart, chunks of flesh raining down on me.
The shockwave left me dazed; my throat burned from the blood splattered on me. Tears mixed with blood streamed down my face as I watched Li Squad Leader become nothing more than a mass of gore—dead beyond any doubt!
The Blood Corpse slowly collapsed to the ground.
But then, another Blood Corpse charged at me, rushing forward.
At that moment, another soldier charged forward, disregarding his own life. They were fighting for a so-called righteousness, sacrificing their lives for me, all for that one promise—that even in death, they would bring me back.
My heart trembled uncontrollably; death no longer held any fear for me!
I slowly lifted my head, tears streaming down my face, only to swallow them back. I knew it was all futile now because I had seen Wen Fei approaching, a grenade in his hand!
Righteousness! It truly was more important than life itself!
Buddha, I am not as good as hell; who will enter hell?
Only by forgetting the fear of death can one find hope in life.
My heart shook violently as I gripped my Azure Thunder Staff tightly. I stood up once more, a fire burning in my chest—anger's fire, fearless fire, the fire that sought to eradicate all evil spirits!

Wen Fei supported me and said, "Sit down; it's not your turn yet!" With that, he charged forward, unafraid of death!

Another soldier attempted to rush past.
I pushed him back with a firm hand.

"Kekekeke! It's truly useless to oppose me; this is my territory!" the old woman exclaimed triumphantly.
At that moment, the Blood Corpse had already reached for my neck.
The cold Ghostly Energy surged toward me.
In that instant, it felt as if the flames in my chest suddenly found a way to vent!
My arm twisted oddly, and the Blood Corpse in front of me exploded into dust.
Then, an endless Demonic Power surged from beneath my feet! It was an infinite Ghostly Energy, fueled by the wrath of the Underworld!
A sharp pain struck my chest, and my mind went blank with a buzzing sensation. In that moment, I felt myself entering a whole new realm, a true witch's domain!
A witch stands between heaven and earth, connecting with the Gods above and commanding the depths below!
This was the Corpse Raising Ground, belonging to the Netherworld for thousands of years! Coupled with these thousands of Corpses, the Demonic Power surged!
At this moment, boundless Demonic Power flowed from the earth, rushing up through my legs and into my chest.
My body suddenly twisted like a blooming lotus.
The Azure Thunder Staff flew up, spinning in front of me, and then it began to unleash an endless Witch Power!
Hellfire Lotuses bloomed everywhere!
The Demonic Power transformed into an endless Witch Power, released in an instant.
Then, black flames ignited across the Ground, roaring fiercely as they engulfed all the Ghost Corpses, Vengeful Spirits, and Blood Corpses in a heartbeat!
Resentment turned into wisps of black smoke, dissipating into the air.
Perhaps it was just a fleeting moment; in the arena, only we and Heizi remained.
The old woman across from us clearly panicked. All the Blood Corpses before her had vanished, leaving her surrounded by only a few Drug Traffickers.
"Kill them!" Wen Fei shouted furiously.
Then came the Thump Thump Thump of gunfire.
I watched the old woman as a bullet struck her forehead. I laughed, and as I laughed, suddenly my head buzzed, and then I fainted…

I don't know how much time passed.
I awakened from my slumber, my consciousness slowly returning. I heard machines beeping rhythmically; that sound was familiar—it must be the Electrocardiogram Monitor from a hospital.
I opened my eyes, straining to see more clearly.
There was light.
Before me lay a pure white expanse; it must be a hospital, though it lacked the scent of disinfectant I had imagined.
I struggled to move my hands and feet.
"I'll help you."
A clear voice came from nearby.
I turned my head and saw a rather pretty nurse approaching. She smiled at me, then supported me as I slowly began to move. She laughed, "Oh, you finally woke up! Do you know that our director was almost going crazy? If you didn't wake up soon, he might have jumped off the building."
"Your director..." I managed to say a few words, feeling my throat was very dry. I looked around the room; it was quite luxurious, with no smell of disinfectant. There was only my bed in the entire room, along with a sofa and a computer.
"Could I have some water, please?" I asked.
The nurse squeezed my shoulder gently and immediately went to pour me some water. She brought back a cup of warm water and fed it to me spoonful by spoonful.
I felt a bit overwhelmed by her attention. Slowly sitting up, I smiled and said, "I'm not an invalid; I can drink water by myself."
The nurse replied, "Even though you're not an invalid, you are an esteemed patient. Feeding you water here can earn me quite a bit each month."
"Uh..." I chuckled; this nurse must be new and quite amusing.
After feeding me some water, the nurse said, "Take your time moving around. After lying in bed for so long, you need to be careful when getting up; otherwise, you might faint from low blood pressure."
"You seem to have quite a bit of medical knowledge," I remarked as I glanced at her.
"I'm from the Intensive Care Unit!" she laughed. "Although I'm not the best student, I know basic nursing. You've been lying down for seven days; you definitely need to take it slow."
"Seven... seven?" I paused for a moment, looking at the nurse. "Where am I?"
"Kunming, at the best hospital in Yunnan," the nurse said.
"Oh no! Seven! I need to get discharged; I have things to do." I was really anxious. The Mid-Autumn Festival was approaching, and I had a lot to prepare.
I threw off the blanket and got out of bed, only to realize I was completely naked.
I quickly covered myself with the blanket again. "Where are my clothes?"

Wen Fei handed me a business card. He didn’t say much in gratitude; he simply told me to call him whenever I faced difficulties. He would do his utmost to help me for the rest of his life.
That was already the greatest reward.
I carefully put away the business card and saluted Wen Fei.
