At that moment, the other team members also approached, and upon seeing the scene before them, they were understandably shocked. Fortunately, there were many of us, and it was still midday, so the fear wasn't overwhelming.
"What is the Corpse Raising Ground?" Wen Fei asked as he walked up beside me.

"Why?" Wen Fei didn't mock me; at this moment, he had no reason to doubt my words given how bizarre the situation was.
I explained, "Burial sites are often chosen based on feng shui principles. This kind of Corpse Raising Ground signifies a strong presence of yin energy. Being buried here can allow descendants to rise to prominence and become wealthy! So I believe this place is indeed a grave site."
Zhang Yuru murmured, "But you can't bury so many people here. If their descendants all became rich and powerful, who would they exploit or command?"
I shook my head. "Clearly, this grave has been exploited. The burial ground is no longer what it once was; it has been repurposed for raising corpses. And the purpose of raising them is likely..."
"Drug trafficking," Wen Fei interjected, pointing at a half-decayed corpse nearby. Inside that corpse was a package of Unique Substance! The Unique Substance had already spilled out; it was clear that what the Police Dog had found came from here!
I nodded in agreement. "Exactly—drug trafficking! They hide drugs inside the bodies!"
The people around us slowly moved closer to the corpse.
A single corpse lay there without any foul odor, dressed in jeans and resembling a gaunt old man.
We descended further; aside from the body torn apart by the Police Dog, the rest were located deeper in the Valley. As we walked down a path, an eerie chill seeped into my bones.
I hugged my arms tightly around myself, feeling curious about these corpses—thousands of them! It was quite an undertaking! If we came here at night... not just me; even Yang Gou Dan would be in serious trouble.
We walked down a few hundred meters into the Valley, reaching its bottom, where the sight of the corpses sent chills down our spines. Some bodies leaned against trees, while others sat upright, all dressed in normal human clothing, which was quite eerie.
"Commander, it turns out every corpse hides Unique Substance!" one Narcotics Officer exclaimed as he sliced open a Corpse, revealing the Drug hidden within its chest.
"Thud!"
Lindexi suddenly collapsed to the ground, wiping the sweat from his forehead. "Commander, we... we should go back. We shouldn't be here."
Wen Fei glanced at Lindexi but ignored him. He turned to me and asked, "I have two questions. First, why are these corpses wearing human clothes? Second, even if these Drug Traffickers wanted to smuggle drugs by hiding them in these corpses, how would they carry them away? Would they take the corpses with them?"
I shook my head. "Commander, some things are beyond your imagination if you haven't seen them. In fact, at night, when the Eerie Energy rises, these corpses can stand up and walk on their own."
"What?" Wen Fei looked at me incredulously. "You mean these corpses are Zombies? Like the ones in movies? The kind that can jump?"
I shook my head again. "They're even more terrifying. They don't need to jump; they can walk like normal people and are even more agile than regular humans. Of course, they are controlled by someone, so they won't kill indiscriminately and lack a murderous intent. If they were naturally formed Zombies with lingering Resentment, that would be much more horrifying."
Wen Fei appeared uncertain.
At that moment, a Narcotics Officer approached us and said, "Commander, initial estimates suggest that within these thousands of Corpses, there is at least three tons of Unique Substance hidden inside—both finished products and raw materials—worth at least hundreds of millions." The Narcotics Officer seemed excited; after all their hard work, they finally found results. The key was that he hadn't heard my earlier conversation with Wen Fei and was still unaware that these Corpses were not ordinary.
Wen Fei looked at me. "What should we do now? Can we just burn all these Corpses?"
I shook my head. "That might not be easy. The Chill of Darkness here is too strong; unless heavy firepower is deployed or a large number of incendiary devices are used, it might not burn. Other methods may not work."
Wen Fei sighed in relief. "Don't worry about that; we brought supplies. As long as we can burn them to death, it will be fine." He then instructed everyone, "First take pictures; once that's done, immediately prepare the incendiary devices and fuel to burn all these corpses! Including the Drugs! Also, stay alert for any Drug Traffickers lurking around!"
“Commander, aren’t we going to take them back to the station for disposal?” a Narcotics Officer asked, looking at Wen Fei with curiosity.
Wen Fei waved his hand. “What time is it? Let’s be practical. We don’t have much time left; everyone, get moving. Pair up and be sure to stay safe… Oh, if you see Iron Raccoon, shoot on sight without hesitation.”
Seeing Wen Fei’s decisive attitude eased my worries. My greatest fear was encountering a leader who was clueless and reckless, but clearly, Wen Fei was not that type. Although he didn’t believe in ghosts or spirits, he was evidently very sensible.
Lindexi was still sitting on the ground, no longer scared but mumbling, “Ah, this place really does have a history of people being eaten. It seems the old folks weren’t lying after all.”
Wen Fei walked over to me and sighed, “This is truly unbelievable! Song Fei, I really appreciate you. If it weren’t for you, this drug bust would have been a complete failure on my end…”
I stood there, frowning as I looked at the thousands of corpses. I now understood why that old woman could mobilize the drug traffickers to hunt me down; she was clearly the backbone of this entire drug trafficking organization!
Not only had the old woman raised the cunning Iron Raccoon, but she could also command these corpses. She didn’t want me to go up the mountain because she feared I would discover Iron Raccoon’s secret, but more importantly, she probably wanted to keep me from uncovering this place! I looked at Wen Fei in confusion, unsure why he suddenly shared these stories with me.
Wen Fei took out another cigarette and continued, “That Iron Raccoon was formidable back then. However, when the Red Guards arrived, they beat it to death without mercy. So you see, humans are far more powerful than these monsters. Right, Song Fei?”
Hearing this made me laugh. “Exactly! These corpses are just following orders after all.”
Wen Fei nodded in agreement.
"Woof!"
Heizi suddenly barked and then darted off to the side.
"Heizi!" I called out to it.
Heizi sniffed around for a moment and then ran back to my side, tugging at my pant leg.
I was taken aback and squatted down, asking, "Did you find the Flower Girl?"
Heizi nodded.
I hesitated for a moment.
Wen Fei asked, "What Flower Girl? Your dog is pretty smart, Song Fei. When the dogs in the unit start breeding, can we borrow it?"
I laughed, "It's probably impotent, neither male nor female, so it might not be up to this glorious and beautiful task."
Big Black bared its teeth at me, trying to intimidate me.
Wen Fei burst into laughter.
I continued, "The Flower Girl is the cat I'm looking for. I came here specifically to find this cat, and I didn't expect all this trouble to arise."
As soon as Wen Fei heard this, he shouted loudly, "Li Squad Leader!"
"Here!" The middle-aged man ran over and saluted.
"Wen Fei said, "You are to protect Mr. Song while he searches for that cat. Remember, at all costs, ensure his personal safety."
"Yes!" Li Squad Leader saluted, his expression serious.
I nodded and said, "Alright, I'll look over there for a bit. I won't go too far. You all stay here and burn the bodies. If anything happens, retreat to the upper part of this Valley and wait for me."
Wen Fei replied, "Don't worry, I understand the dangers here. Keep your wits about you. Li Liancheng is our team's elite soldier; he's quite formidable."
"Good."
I waved at Zhang Yuru and then said, "Heizi, go."
