I couldn't hesitate any longer. I took out a shard of glass from the pocket of my tattered prison uniform and quickly aimed it at myself. The reflection was initially clear, then became blurry, and suddenly, I felt a wave of dizziness wash over me before everything went black.
"Song Fei! Song Fei! Please don't scare me!"
In my dazed state, I heard someone calling my name.
Slowly, I opened my eyes to see Liu Yiyi clutching my neck, her eyes red. Her makeup was slightly smudged, clearly having shed tears just moments ago.
I managed a hoarse laugh. "Don't... cry. If you cry like that, I won't be able to bear dying."
"Huh?" Liu Yiyi quickly held my face and smiled. "Wow, Song Fei, you really scared me to death."
It turned out that even a goddess could curse, and she did so in such a gentle manner.
I struggled to sit up and looked around. "Where is this?"
"Room 103," Liu Yiyi replied. "You’re back! After you entered the room, you disappeared. I felt so regretful and feared you might never return. So, I waited here for you. Just now, you suddenly reappeared out of thin air. But when you left, you were alive; when you came back, you were dead! You scared me to death."
I felt quite touched. In such a strange room, Liu Yiyi had waited for me without fear.
I rubbed my head. "How long was I gone?"
"About two or three hours," Liu Yiyi said.
I got up and grabbed Liu Yiyi's hand. "Let's go, Yiyi, we need to find Liu Xin. I know how to fix this room completely..."
I pulled Liu Yiyi towards the exit.
"Hand!" Liu Yiyi stood still and said.
"Huh?" I lifted Liu Yiyi's hand to take a look. "What beautiful hands you have. What's wrong?"
"Let go! You jerk!" Liu Yiyi glared at me.
I awkwardly laughed and released her hand. "Sorry, I thought it was my own hand. I won't do it again next time."
"If there is a next time, I'll smack you," Liu Yiyi replied, then headed outside. "This room is too creepy; we need to get out of here."
My backpack and Peach Wood Sword were still with me, and I couldn't quite figure out what was going on with the temporal turbulence. For now, I needed to find Liu Xin and dismantle the Soul Binding Array beneath this room.
Liu Xin was outside, and when she saw me and Liu Yiyi come out, she hurried over. "Thank goodness, you're okay."
"Sister Liu, I've found a way to break the curse. You don't need to seal the teahouse anymore. However, we will need a more professional underground excavation team."
Liu Xin sighed in relief and smiled. "That's great! As long as we don't have to seal the teahouse, but what exactly happened here?"

The jailer was an evil Taoist who kept a ghost pet and used the Soul Binding Array to trap all the wronged souls inside to feed his ghost pet."
Liu Xin listened in shock, her eyes wide open.
I didn't care whether she understood or not; I barely grasped it myself, just guessing and piecing things together. I continued, "Originally, the danger wouldn't be that great. However, over a hundred years ago, an earthquake suddenly struck here, and it killed the Jailer. He died, but the Soul Binding Array remained intact. The people in the prison also perished, but their Resentment surged. The key issue is that those Resentments couldn't be released; they were trapped by the Soul Binding Array. This place has a lot of Resentment, which is why ghostly occurrences and time-space disturbances happen frequently."
"What should we do?" Liu Xin asked, sounding a bit anxious.
I replied, "Actually, after such a long time, the Resentment in the Soul Binding Array should have dissipated quite a bit. Plus, with all these years of construction layered on top, the Soul Binding Array is buried deep now. That's why your teahouse hasn't encountered major issues. After the fire at Meiyuan Club, Jiang Dong already filled this area in. Now that you've built another layer on top, we're quite far from the Soul Binding Array. If we go down and destroy the core of the Soul Binding Array, we should be fine."
Liu Xin nodded. "Alright, Song Fei, you do what you need to do. I'll cover any costs."

I nodded in agreement.

I was at a loss for words; I thought I was on my way to becoming her potential boyfriend only to find out I'm still just her best friend. That really hurt.
Hearing our conversation, Liu Xin chuckled as she walked over and gently ruffled my hair. "What's wrong? Are you feeling sad?"
I nodded, "My heart, liver, spleen, lungs, and kidneys are all hurt."
Liu Xin continued to smile and whispered, "Come on, I see you handling your best friend's situation with the CEO is not a problem at all."
"Really?" I looked at Liu Xin.
Li Xin nodded, "Of course! What do you think I do? I specialize in the romantic business for young people. Before I became the CEO, I studied love psychology. Don't worry. When you disappeared, you have no idea how panicked she was."
I laughed, feeling my mood lift instantly.
The three of us had lunch at a tea house. The food was light but delicious, and it was clear that Liu Xin had put a lot of thought into choosing this place.
Before long, an Audi Q7 pulled up outside the tea house. A man in a suit carrying a briefcase approached us, his hair neatly parted to one side and wearing gold-rimmed glasses.
He didn’t look like a nouveau riche; rather, he seemed like a well-educated professional. I had always thought real estate developers were usually potbellied, but this guy had a slim figure and appeared refined.
Liu Xin glanced at the man and then whispered to me, "Wow, Song, your competitor seems quite formidable. I initially thought he was just some uncultured upstart, but it turns out he's a quality potential candidate."
I lowered my head to eat, muttering to myself that in a few years, I would earn just as much as him. Yes, that's right! For now, I could only comfort myself like this.
Liu Yiyi stood up and nodded towards the man. "Wang Chao, over here."
Wang Chao walked over, smiled at us, then placed his bag beside him and sat down. "I saw the news on social media and rushed over. Look at that; I made it just in time for lunch. I'm here to help you out for free, Liu Yiyi. You have to treat me to lunch now."
Liu Yiyi smiled and had someone bring Wang Chao a takeout meal. "I'll definitely cover the bill; I'm already grateful for your help."
"Hey, that's not how it works. Just leave it to me," Wang Chao said.
We were at the dining table, and I replied, "Well, Boss Wang, here's the thing. We need to dig a pit about ten meters deep underneath this teahouse, maybe even deeper. The area should be roughly the size of a room. Is that feasible? We can't disrupt the normal operations of the teahouse."
"Ten meters?" Wang Chao glanced at me and nodded. "That's no problem. Anything over five meters won't affect the upper structure. I'll have someone start by digging a hole on one side, and when they reach about nine meters, they'll turn towards the teahouse. It's not complicated; as long as we have the right equipment for moving the earth, we can finish it in one night."
After we finished our meal, I updated Wang Chao on the situation. True to his background in civil engineering, he quickly devised a plan and then made some calls to bring in workers.
I couldn't help but think there was a bit of a threat in that. I rubbed my nose thoughtfully.
Liu Yiyi walked over and patted my shoulder. "What are you thinking about?"
I replied, "I was just considering how competitive this guy is. If I had known he could handle it, I would have just dug it myself instead of hiring him. Isn't that digging my own grave?"
"Don't be so boring," Liu Yiyi said with a playful smile. "We're just casual friends." Then she added with a flirtatious grin, "Come on, let's go eat dinner. Wang Chao is treating us to something nice..."
Wang Chao drove his Q7 with Liu Xin and me alongside Liu Yiyi to a manor called Zhongshan Huafu on the outskirts of Donghai City. To be honest, the location was a bit remote, but it was decorated like a palace and encompassed an entire hill. Dining here allowed for mountain climbing, swimming, and boating while enjoying organic food. It truly was a great place.
Of course, Zhongshan Huafu operated on a membership system with annual fees in the tens of thousands, and bringing guests required additional charges.
I was impressed; this place really was something special. Even Liu Yiyi didn't know such a fantastic dining spot existed.
While enjoying some game meat, Liu Yiyi, Wang Chao, and Liu Xin discussed finance—money, stock markets, and so on. Wang Chao showcased his talents; just two years ago he was merely a businessman worth hundreds of thousands. However, during last year's bull market, he leveraged his investments and quintupled his assets before successfully exiting before the market crash. He planned to stay out of the stock market for the entire year because many people were trapped in their investments waiting for someone to rescue them from their losses; entering now would be disastrous.
This meal left me feeling somewhat melancholic.
As we were eating, Liu Yiyi noticed me staring down in silence and said, "Hey, Song Fei, is that hole finished? What are we going to do next?"
Before I could respond, Wang Chao quickly interjected, "Right, Liu Yiyi, Sister Liu, what exactly is that pit for?"
I realized he was intentionally leaving my name out, but I couldn't be bothered. Liu Xin then briefly explained the situation regarding the Ancient Style Teahouse.
Upon hearing this, Wang Chao exclaimed, "Oh, so this is the land where Meiyuan Club is located. No wonder something went wrong! By the way, are we supposed to break that formation? That's no problem; I know a master who’s really skilled—a Feng Shui Master. Whenever I look for properties, the first thing I ask about isn’t the price or environment; it’s always about the Feng Shui. This master has guided me a few times, and every time it’s been a big success. He’s also great at catching ghosts. Should I invite him over so everyone can meet him?"
Liu Xin hesitated a bit and said, "This matter has always been handled by Song Fei..."
