Master Ma did not dare to get too close to the bundle of incense. He circled around it once and then shouted, "Xu Ziwen! Get out here! I know it was you!" 0

"Do you know me?" Xu Bansian emerged from behind a tree. He walked with a slight stagger, but his back was very straight. 0

Seeing Xu Bansian like this, I felt he was on the verge of death; clearly, he was struggling to hold himself together. 0

Under the moonlight, Master Ma's figure appeared particularly ethereal, like an enlightened being. But I knew that this guy's heart was as dark as they come. 0

Master Ma held his sword and pointed it at Xu Bansian. He sneered and said coldly, "Of course I know you. In fact, I know every single person from Shantai Village! Xu Ziwen, you haven't forgotten that heavy snow thirty-three years ago, have you?" 0

I noticed Xu Bansian's body visibly tremble; he was clearly shocked. 0

Xu Bansian's voice quivered as he looked at Master Ma. "You... you can't be... Xu Cuihua's three-year-old son, can you?" 0

Master Ma laughed coldly. "Heh heh, ha ha... Xu Ziwen, so you’ve remembered all along. Your conscience has been pricked, hasn’t it? Yes, I am Xu Cuihua's son. Thirty-three years ago, you killed my mother, my sister, and my unborn brother. Today, I've come here to make sure everyone in your village pays for their lives!" 0

Hiding behind the tree, I listened to their conversation in shock. I finally understood that Master Ma had deceived everyone in the village from the very beginning! 0

Xu Bansian swayed as he took a couple of steps toward Master Ma and then circled around him again. "Yes, you are indeed Xu Cuihua's son; you are... here for revenge." 0

Master Ma swung his iron sword twice and pointed at Xu Bansian. "You know now. Although a Taoist saved me, all these years I've never been able to let go of my hatred. My Daoist Arts have not progressed at all! This time, your entire Shantai Village will become corpses; once my hatred is gone, I can continue my cultivation." 0

Xu Bansian scoffed lightly. "No, you're mistaken. Although we from Shantai Village committed sins thirty-three years ago, you are not a qualified Taoist at all. You have no sense of justice; you will never succeed." 0

Xu Bansian continued to pace around Master Ma, saying, "You are too cunning. From the moment Lian died, you planned to frame our entire village. You captured my Big Black in advance and placed it at the bottom of the coffin. You know Lian died with resentment, so you used her to create panic in Shantai Village." 0

Master Ma remained unfazed, replying, "Yes, I know. In the entire village, there is only one person who can see through my scheme, and that is you. So I plan to pin everything on you and let the villagers tear you apart. But look at you, clever enough to run away first... Xu Ziwen, what good does it do you to stall for time now? You are just an old man on the verge of death; you cannot stop me. Do you see? That bundle of incense is about to burn out completely. Once those wandering souls finish consuming it, they will naturally go back to drain the life force of those foolish villagers. Heh, what makes you think you can fight me?" 0

At that moment, Xu Bansian turned around and looked down the mountain, sighing, "I admit you are smart, but you are too full of yourself. Have you still not figured out why I am stalling for time here?" 0

Master Ma merely scoffed, "Just a ruse!" 0

Xu Bansian walked toward Master Ma and said, "A ruse? No, no, I don't mind telling you now. I have... heh, a stinky salted fish on me, soaked in fresh blood..." 0

Suddenly, Xu Bansian lunged at Master Ma. 0

Master Ma thrust his sword forward. 0

With a piercing sound, the long sword penetrated Xu Bansian's abdomen! 0

The sword was incredibly sharp. 0

I watched Xu Bansian as tears suddenly welled up in my eyes; this old man was simply seeking his own demise! 0

"Thud!" 0

Xu Bansian spat blood onto Master Ma's face while something else from his hand splattered onto Master Ma's face as well. 0

Master Ma suddenly yanked his sword, and with a swift kick, he sent Xu Bansian crashing to the ground. He coldly remarked, "Damn old dog, you brought this upon yourself!" 0

Xu Bansian lay on the ground convulsing, looking up at Master Ma. He began to laugh maniacally, but as he laughed, he coughed up another mouthful of blood and then fell silent. 0

I fought back tears, hiding behind a tree, too afraid to move. I couldn't understand why Xu Bansian would seek his own death; he was no match for Master Ma. 0

While I was still grieving, suddenly a red figure darted up from the foot of the mountain. The speed was astonishing; in an instant, it was already more than ten meters away. 0

I looked closer and gasped—it was Lian! 0

Lian was dressed in a bright red bridal gown. As she ran, her legs moved straight like two bamboo poles, propelling her forward with incredible speed. 0

What was Lian doing here? 0

As I glanced back at the motionless Xu Bansian on the ground, everything clicked into place. 0

Lian must have been lured here by Xu Bansian! He had planned this all along. He carried a stinky salted fish soaked in blood and had deliberately circled around Master Ma, leaving a trail of scent! 0

The reason Lian had turned into a Zombie, such a fierce one at that, was because she had been possessed by Cat Evil. That Black Cat must have loved salted fish in life; now its malevolent energy had entered Lian's body. Naturally, she would be drawn to the smell of salted fish. Moreover, Zombies are attracted to blood and foul odors, so Xu Bansian had soaked the stinky fish in blood and led Lian right to him! 0

Seeing Lian approaching, Master Ma looked startled and quickly retreated. 0

However, it seemed that Lian was captivated by Master Ma; she leaped forward and lunged toward him. 0

Master Ma's face was surely smeared with the foul powder of stinky salted fish that Xu Bansian had thrown at him. 0

"Monster, get away!" Master Ma shouted as he lunged forward with his sword towards Lian. 0

Half of Lian's face was rotten, and her body was similarly decayed, all thanks to the Black Dog Blood I had used yesterday. 0

However, it was clear that Lian was not afraid of an ordinary sword. She opened her mouth wide and bit down on Master Ma's sword. 0

With a crack, the sword snapped in two. 0

Seizing the opportunity, Master Ma quickly pulled a wooden bell from his pocket. He shook the bell vigorously at Lian while chanting loudly, "Spirit spirit, earth spirit, boundless earth, universe lend your power, yin and yang corpse demon, all must obey, hasten as commanded!" 0

"Aw..." 0

Lian let out a fierce scream, then raised her hand and slammed it down onto Master Ma's chest with a thud. 0

"Poof!" 0

Master Ma was sent flying by Lian's strike, spitting out a mouthful of blood as he hurtled toward me. 0

With a crash, Master Ma collided with the large tree in front of me and fell to the ground, the wooden bell clattering beside him. 0

Lian seemed to be in great pain; she writhed on the ground before charging at Master Ma again. With her decayed mouth wide open, she aimed for his neck and bit down hard. 0

I seized the opportunity as soon as I saw it. Grabbing the Black Dog Blood, I jumped up and poured the entire contents over Lian's head and body. 0

I knew this was the best chance to kill Lian. 0

Once the Black Dog Blood was poured on her, Lian erupted in white flames, like ghostly fire. She screamed in agony, rolling on the ground, and then she desperately crawled toward me. 0

I took two steps back and spotted a bell on the ground. I immediately picked it up and shook it like Master Ma. 0

The wooden bell emitted a "clunk buzz, clunk buzz" sound. It wasn't loud, but when Lian heard me shaking the bell, it was as if she had been electrocuted. With a thud, she fell to the ground again... 0

I hadn't expected this bell to be so powerful, even more so than the Black Dog Blood. Feeling invigorated, I stepped forward and shook it vigorously. 0

Clunk buzz, clunk buzz, clunk buzz... 0

The sound of the Wooden Bell was strange; it made me feel a bit uncomfortable, as if a stick were stirring around in my head. 0

However, Lian's reaction was clearly much stronger. She rolled on the ground, and with the Black Dog Blood burning her and producing white smoke, it wasn't long before she turned into a pile of rotten flesh, lying there motionless. 0

"Ah..." I let out a sigh of relief, but then I suddenly felt dizzy. With a thud, I sat down on the ground. 0

What was going on? Low blood pressure? 0

I quickly took several deep breaths. How could I feel dizzy all of a sudden? 0

"Who... who are you?" a faint voice came through. 0

I turned around and saw that Master Ma was not completely dead yet, but he was close. He had been bitten on the neck by Lian, and there was a large handprint on his chest, likely indicating he wouldn't last much longer. 0

I said, "Master Ma, you really are ruthless. Did you want to kill everyone in our village?" 0

Master Ma looked at me, spitting out a mouthful of black blood. He struggled to raise his hand and pointed at me. "Who... who are you? How can you use the Corpse-Subduing Bell?" 0

I lifted the bell and looked at it. "So this is the Corpse-Subduing Bell? No wonder it's so effective. Thank you, Master Ma; I'll keep this bell from now on." 0

Master Ma spat out another mouthful of black blood, his eyes starting to roll back. He choked out, "Master, I really... was wrong..." 0

With that, Master Ma's eyes rolled back completely, and he died with his eyes wide open. 0
