In a remote small town, there lived a man named Songgen. 0

He lost his father at a young age and had only his mother to rely on. As his mother grew older, he chose to stay home and make a living by growing and selling flowers to take care of her. 0

Songgen was an extremely filial person. He understood his mother's love for flowers, so every morning, he would carefully select the most vibrant and red flower from their garden, filled with affection, to give to her. 0

One day, while his mother was cooking in the kitchen, she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her chest. 0

Songgen, anxious and alarmed, hurried over to ask what was wrong, urgently insisting that he should take her to see a doctor. 0

However, his mother endured the pain, forcing a faint smile on her face. She worried that it might delay Songgen from selling flowers and stubbornly insisted that she was fine and just needed to rest for a while. 0

Without thinking much of it, Songgen turned and went out to sell flowers. 0

But when he returned after selling all the flowers, the sight before him left him horrified. His mother's room was in disarray, and she was nowhere to be found. 0

Panic-stricken, beads of sweat rolled down his forehead as he frantically searched around. Finally, he discovered his mother in the backyard, barely clinging to life. 0

This time, he quickly called for a doctor, but it was ultimately too late. 0

Before passing away, his mother used her last bit of strength to say, "I will come back. Mom, I will definitely come back!" 0

Though Songgen heard her words, he dismissed them as mere ramblings of someone nearing death and did not take them to heart. 0

The next day, with immense sorrow weighing on him, Songgen buried his mother. 0

The sudden death of his mother left Songgen in unbearable grief. He clutched the rocking chair where she used to sit, crying out in anguish until he was utterly exhausted and fell asleep without realizing it. 0

Who could have predicted that while Songgen was sleeping soundly, a fierce storm would suddenly erupt outside? He jolted awake, his brow furrowed with worry that the rain might wash away his mother’s grave. In a panic, he rushed outside to check. 0

To his horror, he discovered that his mother’s grave had been dug up, and her body was missing. At that moment, Songgen recalled the strange words his mother had spoken before her passing, sending chills down his spine. He hurried back home. 0

Looking at the muddy footprints scattered on the ground, a sense of foreboding washed over him. Taking a deep breath, he mustered the courage to push open the door. 0

“I will return, I will return,” an eerie voice echoed within the house. 0

Terrified by this scene, Songgen felt his heart race. He understood that it was his mother wanting to come back to be with him, but he also knew she had passed away; the living and the dead could not coexist as they once did. Thus, he buried her body properly once more. 0

This time, to prevent her from rising again from the grave, Songgen secured the coffin with long nails and placed several heavy stones on top. He thought this would finally allow him to live in peace. However, who would have imagined that the very next night, his mother appeared in their home again. 0

Unable to bear such fear and torment any longer, Songgen rushed to town early in the morning to report it to the police. But the officers looked at him with skepticism and waved him off impatiently, completely disbelieving his claims and unceremoniously shooing him away. 0

Despairing, Songgen returned home. That evening, while shopping at a convenience store, some officers ran into acquaintances and began chatting. During their conversation, they brought up Songgen’s situation. Coincidentally, a psychologist happened to be present at the store. Upon hearing about it, the expert explained Songgen's bizarre experiences from a psychological perspective. 0

“What you all just described is known in psychology as sleepwalking. I believe Zhang Songgen has been sleepwalking every night and unknowingly brought his mother’s body back home with him. When he wakes up, he forgets everything he did in his sleep and thinks that she has crawled back to be with him. This phenomenon occurs because the patient attempts to symbolically resolve related fantasies and psychological conflicts or expresses daytime situations through actions while sleepwalking.” 0

It turned out that it wasn’t his mother who had crawled out of her grave; rather, it was Songgen’s overwhelming longing for her that led him to dig up her grave during his sleepwalking episodes and carry her back home. 0

The psychologist added, “Not only did he dig up the body; when he wakes up, he finds it back where it belongs. The psychological pressure of enduring such fear could potentially lead him into madness or even cause harm to himself.” 0

"Do you mean he will kill himself?" 0

Upon hearing this, the police grew concerned that Songgen might harm himself and hurried to his home. Meanwhile, Songgen had just awakened from a state of sleepwalking, only to discover the decaying body of his mother. In that moment, he completely broke down. His eyes bloodshot, he frantically grabbed an axe and began to hack at his mother's corpse, a scene witnessed clearly by his neighbor, Aunt Wang. 0

Once Songgen regained a bit of composure, he looked at his mother’s lifeless form, filled with guilt and despair. He picked up a rope and slowly approached a withered tree. 0

"Mom." 0

"I'm coming now." 0

By the time the police arrived, Songgen had already stopped breathing, leaving this world forever. 0
