Yama's Wedding
"Wow, these two look so alike!"
Early in the morning, everyone woke up to find two identical Yi Mos at the Bandit Hideout. The crowd gathered around them, staring in disbelief.
"What’s going on?" Jun Ruo asked as she approached the group.
"Head of the Family, look!" The crowd parted to make way for Jun Ruo. She raised her eyes and saw two figures ahead—one grinning widely and the other with a serious expression. Yet, both had the same facial features, the very face Jun Ruo saw every day.
After a quick glance, Jun Ruo turned on her heel and walked away.
The crowd was puzzled by Jun Ruo's reaction.
What could Jun Ruo be thinking? She had just woken up and seeing two Yi Mos made her think she was still dreaming.
"I'm dreaming, I'm dreaming. It will be over soon," Jun Ruo reassured herself.
"Hahaha! Brother, my sister-in-law is quite amusing!" The cheerful man burst into laughter upon hearing Jun Ruo's words, clutching his stomach as he struggled to stand.
"Brother?" Feeling embarrassed by the laughter directed at her, Jun Ruo turned back with a confused expression.
"He is my twin brother, Yicheng," Yi Mo explained to Jun Ruo.
Now everyone recognized who was who among the Yi Mos.
"You two?"
"He is my twin brother. I sent him a letter a few days ago, and today he came to find me," Yi Mo clarified.
"Hello, big sister! I'm Yicheng," Yicheng finally managed to stop laughing and greeted Jun Ruo.
"Nice to meet you!" The way Yicheng addressed her made Jun Ruo blush with shyness.
Yi Mo shot a glare at Yicheng, thinking this guy must be out of his mind to come over and cause trouble at such a crucial moment.
Early in the morning, when Yi Mo pushed open the door and saw Yicheng standing outside, the surprise in his eyes was no different from that of the people in the Bandit Hideout.
"Third Brother, don't scold me. Father sent me to check on you," Yicheng said. He was his younger brother, known for his mischievous nature and lack of ambition.
Yi Mo was about to respond to Yicheng when he heard those words and decided to swallow his thoughts.
"Third Brother, how are things coming along?" Seeing Yi Mo's defeated expression made Yicheng feel quite pleased; finally, he had a chance to see Yi Mo in distress.
"Yes, it's ready," Yi Mo replied calmly. That opportunity should be his best chance to act.
"When will you make your move?" Yicheng asked.
"On the day of my wedding."
"What..." Yi Mo's words startled Yicheng so much that he fell off his chair.
Yi Mo looked at the excited Yicheng with a hint of disdain in his eyes.
"You... you... your wedding..." It seemed he had come at just the right time. When he had previously asked their father for permission to visit, their father had refused. He never expected that this cold-hearted Yi Mo would actually be getting married.
"Yes, I will marry the leader of the Bandit Hideout."
"You... are you joking with me?" Yicheng asked incredulously.
"No!"
It was indeed the Yicheng he knew—carefree and oblivious. Even though he was only slightly older, Yi Mo felt as if Yicheng seemed years ahead of him.
"So, what do you plan to do?" Yicheng was curious about Yi Mo's intentions.
"You'll find out when the time comes." There were some things Yi Mo didn't want Yicheng to know, especially regarding this matter.
"Tch!" Yicheng scoffed.
The scene that unfolded in the morning was nothing short of astonishing. The appearance of Yicheng left everyone in awe; they had never seen such identical twins before. If it weren't for their voices, they might have mistaken one for the other. Yicheng was lively and fond of wearing red, and he was skilled in martial arts. In contrast, Yi Mo was more reserved. Aside from their striking resemblance, the two were quite different in many ways.
"Yicheng, I didn't expect your martial skills to be quite impressive!" Jun Ruo said as she wiped her sword. After sparring with Yicheng over the past few days, she realized that his skills were commendable, though he lacked experience. If it weren't for her years of practice and combat, she doubted she could defeat him.
Hearing Jun Ruo's praise made Yicheng feel a bit guilty. "Sister-in-law, I think so too!"
Yicheng's childishness amused Jun Ruo. "If only your elder brother could fight as well," she remarked wistfully. If Yi Mo had martial skills, they could train together.
Little did she know that Yi Mo's abilities far surpassed Yicheng's! Yicheng thought to himself, "Sister-in-law, my brother and I complement each other—one is scholarly while the other is martial; this is our father's wish for us."
Jun Ruo listened to Yicheng's explanation and glanced at Yi Mo, who was quietly reading under a nearby tree. Yes, this side of Yi Mo was quite nice; unlike Yicheng, he wouldn't attract too much attention. Jun Ruo appreciated the gentlemanly demeanor of Yi Mo. As her gaze fell upon him, Yi Mo seemed to sense it and looked up from his book, smiling at her.
"Tsk tsk tsk, some people!" Yicheng teased playfully beside Jun Ruo.
The moment for Yi Mo had finally arrived. He and Jun Ruo were about to get married! On the wedding day, the Bandit Hideout would surely let down its guard. At that time, with coordinated efforts from both inside and outside, they could capture everyone within the hideout. Watching the bustling activity around the Bandit Hideout lately brought a hint of bitterness to Yi Mo's heart as Jun Ruo's smile lingered in his mind.
Jun Ruo gazed at the wedding dress that had just been delivered to her bed. In just a few days, she would wear it to marry the man she loved. Her heart raced with a mix of anxiety and shyness as she envisioned her future with Yi Mo.
The long-awaited wedding day arrived, filled with excitement for both Jun Ruo and Yi Mo. The exquisite embroidered wedding dress trailed elegantly behind her, and her long hair was styled up with a delicate crown that made her look stunningly beautiful compared to her usual self. As she watched Yi Mo approach her slowly, she shyly lowered her head. Yi Mo—her husband—looked particularly charming today in his red attire, reminiscent of Pan An.
In Yi Mo's eyes, Jun Ruo appeared radiant; her hair was elegantly styled while some cascaded down gracefully. Her large almond-shaped eyes sparkled with clarity; her delicate nose stood proud above rosy lips that rivaled any beauty in the land! Though she wore only light makeup, her beauty remained striking. The enchanting red wedding dress not only preserved her innocence but also added an air of maturity that was utterly captivating. Yi Mo stared at Jun Ruo in a daze. (To be continued.)
