Cosmic Starry Sky remained a vast expanse of stars. No matter when one looked up, those constellations seemed to have always been there, unchanged. Time appeared to have no effect on this celestial canvas.
Ye Yu felt a twinge of sentimentality. Decades ago, he and Jin Shan had fled to this place, nearly being wiped out by the Silver Dragon Guard. Later, he was severely injured by a woman from the Blue Seal Empire and ended up in prison.
Now, he had emerged from that prison, only to find himself as a captain of the Silver Dragon Guard, tasked with a mission! Yet he was acutely aware that he remained under surveillance. What exactly did that Dragon City Lord intend? Even Jin Shan could not deduce it.
For now, he could only take things one step at a time. Aside from the Zhou family, Ye Yu hardly knew anyone else. However, it was inconvenient for him to contact the Zhou family; he feared dragging them into trouble. He had a rough idea of who he had offended back then, and that formidable figure was someone even the Zhou family had to treat with caution. He worried that any slight disturbance on his part would reveal his presence.
Even though he was currently in the Northern District Silver Dragon Star, light-years away from the Federation Homeworld, that chilling sense of being hunted had never faded.
“Ye Yu?” Suddenly, someone called out to him. Without turning around, Ye Yu knew it was Qin Guan. They were sitting together in a Cargo Ship, with only the two of them left aside from the two pilots in the cockpit. The rear hold was filled with cargo, leaving just a small area for Ye Yu and Qin Guan to move.
Ye Yu had no idea what these goods were; all of them were packed in metal boxes taller than a person and looked extremely heavy. The metal boxes filled the entire rear hold, leaving only a tiny space for the two of them. In this cramped area, an invisible pressure enveloped them, creating an oppressive feeling that even their strong minds found uncomfortable.
“Mr. Qin, do you have any advice?” Hearing his name called, Ye Yu felt puzzled; it was the first time since boarding that anyone had spoken to him.
“I just wanted to ask if you’re always this quiet?” Qin Guan looked at Ye Yu, his face full of sympathy as if worried about his future.
“Why do you say that?” Ye Yu was taken aback, not understanding what he meant.
“Since we discussed our action plan at the beginning, you haven’t said a word for over an hour!” Qin Guan gazed at him with an exaggerated expression, completely different from the indifference he had shown when they first met.
Ye Yu smiled slightly; it wasn’t that he didn’t want to talk but rather that ten years in the Arrow Camp had instilled in him a habit of silence. More often than not, he preferred to ponder things alone.
"Action is about to begin, but it's more important to conserve your energy." Ye Yu sat cross-legged on the ground, watching Qin Guan pace back and forth. He had always thought of Qin Guan as a very indifferent person, but he was surprised to find that his true nature seemed somewhat impatient.
"Are you some kind of gifted individual? Or do you possess prophetic abilities?" Qin Guan asked directly, observing Ye Yu's calm demeanor.
Ye Yu frowned slightly, unsure of what the other party was getting at. With a somewhat cold expression, he replied, "No, I'm just an ordinary person." As someone from the Special Forces, he naturally disliked inquiries about his capabilities.
"I mean no harm; it's just that this operation is critical, and I need to know how capable my companions are," Qin Guan said, quickly understanding Ye Yu's feelings upon seeing his expression.
As a Star Wanderer, he was more perceptive than an ordinary person. His question about whether Ye Yu was gifted might have been a bit abrupt, but he genuinely wanted to know!
"We've already crossed paths once; I think I can hold my own. Even if you don't trust me, you should trust the Dragon City Lord—he knows whether I'm suitable for this mission," Ye Yu replied vaguely. In truth, he was already aware of Qin Guan's combat abilities.
After all, Jin Shan had been by his side the entire time and only needed to record the brief encounter between Qin Guan and Ye Yu to make a preliminary assessment of the latter's combat prowess. Clearly, Qin Guan's greatest strength lay in his speed—an unparalleled swiftness. Even Jin Shan couldn't capture all of his movement trajectories without fully locking onto him! This demonstrated just how terrifying Qin Guan's speed truly was.
"I understand, but you must also know that I am gifted and my speed is exceptional. So I'm curious—how were you able to perceive my movement trajectory and avoid my attacks?" Qin Guan had been pondering this question for an entire night and wanted to clarify it as soon as possible.
"It can't be because you've trained in martial arts; I sensed your martial arts level is only at the Third Stage. Even if you've practiced some martial arts that enhance your combat skills, there's no way you could evade my full-strength attacks!"
Before Ye Yu could respond, Qin Guan cut him off. There were many people in the Federation who practiced martial arts, but their levels were far inferior compared to those from the Blue Seal Empire. However, that didn't mean there weren't individuals in the Federation who could reach a high level of martial arts practice—Qin Guan certainly wasn't one of them.
So when he realized that Ye Yu was merely at the Third Stage of martial arts, he couldn't fathom how someone with such a level could evade his attacks!
"I definitely am not gifted; at least I haven't discovered any prophetic abilities within myself. But everyone has their secrets. You can interpret my ability to perceive your movement trajectory as being due to my rich combat experience and heightened awareness of battlefield changes!" Ye Yu said half-truthfully. He knew that if he didn't provide Qin Guan with an answer, their cooperation might encounter difficulties. Since they were acting together, Ye Yu didn't want Qin Guan to harbor too many doubts about him.
Qin Guan's eyes narrowed slightly, realizing that Ye Yu had already reached this level, which was quite impressive. After all, it was their first collaboration, and some caution was to be expected.
"I have nothing to hide," Ye Yu replied. "I am capable, and my specialty is speed. I have also practiced a mid-level body technique from the Blue Seal, and I have just recently broken through to the Fourth Stage. However, it's only been a short time since my breakthrough. The martial arts I practice are also related to speed, so my attack power may be somewhat weaker."
Qin Guan hesitated for a moment before continuing, "So when I first saw the high-strength glass of the mech you were piloting being shattered, I was curious if it was your doing. As far as I know, even reaching the Seventh Stage in body techniques makes it difficult to break the high-strength glass of a Type 9 mech.
I've also observed that your body technique is only at the Third Stage, and considering your age, reaching the Third Stage in body techniques is quite rare even in the Blue Seal Empire."
