Ye Yu couldn't quite find the words to describe the feeling, but he sensed a terror unlike anything he had ever experienced. He had seen powerful individuals before, the strongest being Huang Laowai, yet even Huang Laowai's speed seemed to pale in comparison to this young man's ghostly agility. In fact, Ye Yu felt that this was a state beyond what any human could achieve.
"Alright, Qin Guan, this mission won't be easy, so we've found you a partner. According to the intelligence we've gathered, the two of you should be able to handle this!" Yang Haixiong looked at Qin Guan as if discussing something quite ordinary.
But Ye Yu knew this was anything but ordinary; he finally understood why the other party had agreed to his request. If they were willing to take a step back, then the task at hand must be extremely tricky. If it was something that even official forces couldn't manage, then it was undoubtedly very challenging.
"Old Yang, do you really trust me to venture into the lion's den? You know how dangerous it is there. If I make even the slightest mistake, it could cost me my life! I, Qin Guan, am not ready to die yet; I'm not going!"
Qin Guan didn't even glance at Ye Yu; his gaze was unfocused as if looking past something invisible. Yet his tone was firm and unyielding. Yang Haixiong seemed surprised at first but quickly understood and continued looking at Qin Guan. "Of course, we won't let you take unnecessary risks. The Silver Dragon Guard's ship is always on standby to assist you!"
Yang Haixiong's gaze shifted toward Ye Yu, clearly intended for him to hear. The name of the Silver Dragon Guard was well-known throughout the Federation; with their support, survival would likely not be an issue.
At that moment, Qin Guan finally turned his attention toward Ye Yu, but he wasn't looking at Ye Yu himself; instead, his eyes were fixed on the tall mech behind him—the one with the shattered glass!
"You did that?" Qin Guan raised an eyebrow, asking with a hint of uncertainty.
Ye Yu was young and naturally carried a youthful pride. Seeing Qin Guan regard him with such disdain made him feel irritated.
"What does it have to do with you?"
Ye Yu smiled, his demeanor betraying no dissatisfaction. However, he had already become alert internally; an invisible wave had enveloped the area within several dozen meters around him.
Suddenly, Ye Yu felt a strange wave of energy penetrate his mind. This sensation was peculiar; it didn't feel like an external force impacting his perception but rather a normal fluctuation occurring within Ye Yu's own sensory range.
He moved! Ye Yu quickly sensed it, but he also saw the figure still beside Yang Haixiong, smiling at him.
That was a fake, Ye Yu concluded. The other party must have reached an extreme speed, so fast that his eyes couldn't react in time. But he was certain that the person was charging toward him.
In the blink of an eye, as soon as Ye Yu felt that slight disturbance, he had already moved. Naturally, Ye Yu wasn't as fast as Qin Guan, but he knew the direction of Qin Guan's movement and managed to sidestep just in time!
A strong disdain flashed in Qin Guan's eyes. He understood the severity of the mission and knew he needed a powerful ally. However, this seemingly immature boy before him was definitely not the partner he desired. He wanted to make the other party give up, and the best way to do that was to slap him hard in the face.
Once he made the other party feel pain, it would be embarrassing for him to follow along. He knew that for this mission, the Lord of the City had offered a substantial reward!
Suddenly, Qin Guan felt a blur before his eyes, but clearly, this boy hadn't realized he had arrived yet; there was still a hint of daze and provocation on his face.
Without hesitation, Qin Guan extended his long hand as if to swat away an annoying fly. He felt a thrill; he enjoyed this sensation.
But then, Qin Guan felt his hand pass through the boy's cheek without encountering any resistance. For a moment, he lost control of his strength and stumbled, nearly falling to the ground.
What was happening? Qin Guan froze for just an instant but quickly reacted; the boy he looked down upon had actually vanished!
At that moment, Qin Guan suddenly felt a chill on his back as a dangerous aura enveloped him. With extensive combat experience, he knew he was in trouble.
However, if such a difficulty could stop Qin Guan, then he wouldn't be the one who even Long Yin Yue needed! Sure enough, in the next instant, Qin Guan twisted his waist at an odd angle to the right, making it seem as if his upper body and lower body had separated!
Of course, Qin Guan's upper and lower halves hadn't actually separated; he had dodged the danger! Seizing that fleeting moment, Qin Guan's figure blurred again and disappeared from sight once more.
Ye Yu's lips curled into a faint smile. Mental Power was even more impressive than he had imagined. Although Qin Guan's speed was already quite fast, he could still perceive the subtle trajectory of his movements.
This time, Ye Yu did not hold back. He understood what the other party intended and knew he couldn't let his guard down. Just as Qin Guan made his move, Ye Yu's figure began to blur. He still wasn't as fast as Qin Guan, but he sensed the other's goal—he wanted to circle behind him.
Ye Yu simply turned his body, naturally faster than Qin Guan. At that moment, Qin Guan was already face to face with him, an expression of disbelief etched on his face.
"How did you do that?" Qin Guan exclaimed in shock. Ever since he realized that his speed was extraordinary, he had never felt so flustered.
A faint smile appeared on Ye Yu's lips as he replied, "Everyone has their own secrets; I suppose you are no exception. Besides, we don't know each other yet, so how could I tell you?"
Qin Guan's face showed a hint of strange emotion before he extended his hand and said, "Hello, I am Star Wanderer, Qin Guan!"
Upon hearing the introduction, Ye Yu paused for a moment before revealing an expression full of interest as he looked at Qin Guan. Star Wanderers were a very unique group; theoretically, they were not considered part of the Federation. These individuals wandered between various star systems, undertaking difficult tasks for others in exchange for commissions.
Because they were not Federation citizens, many of the Federation's regulations could not restrict them. However, this also meant that the Federation never really cared about the well-being of the Star Wanderers. These individuals pursued a life of freedom and were numerous in number, which naturally made them powerful. The Federation would not genuinely trouble them; in fact, there were times when they needed their assistance!
