As the administrative head of the Thirteenth District, Yang Haixiong felt a bit strange. Even during his inauguration ceremony, this seemingly ordinary yet extraordinary lord had not attended. He wondered why the lord had come to this desolate area, which was certainly not a pleasant place. 0

The most notorious feature of this area was the prison known as Wasteland Prison, famous for being a place one could enter but never leave. Everyone in Sin City knew about it, and it was a place that no one wished to visit. The lord must have had a purpose for coming here, rather than just a whim. 0

"I wish to see someone," Long Yin Yue said in a tone that suggested negotiation, looking at the dark-skinned head of the Thirteenth District with a hint of a smile in his eyes. 0

He admired this man; ten years ago, he was merely a self-entertaining rural farmer, but through hard work over the decade, he had become the administrative head of the Thirteenth District. Although agriculture had long been automated, there were still some who remained loyal to nature's ways, planting crops using traditional methods. This head was one of them, which explained his extremely dark skin, reminiscent of genuine field laborers from millennia ago. 0

"May I ask who you wish to see?" The head looked at the casually dressed Dragon City Lord with confusion and slight frown. It was after working hours, and he did not want to discuss official matters. 0

"Your close friend," Long Yin Yue replied calmly, though upon closer inspection, there seemed to be a hint of unease in his eyes. Even though he was the most powerful person on this planet, he had no authority to summon the administrative head's friend. That friend was certainly not an ordinary person and was not even of the same caliber as him. 0

Yang Haixiong's expression darkened slightly. He knew exactly who could be referred to as his close friend, but he hadn't expected Long Yin Yue to know about such private matters. This made him feel uneasy; anyone would find it uncomfortable to feel as if they were being watched. 0

"I would like to ask him for assistance with something. Once it's done, I will allocate a sum for infrastructure development in the Thirteenth District under the name of the lord's office. I can also overlook what your friend did previously," Long Yin Yue stated after considering his terms. He came here knowing Yang Haixiong's needs and was well aware of his friend’s background. 0

Yang Haixiong nodded without making Long Yin Yue wait too long. At that moment, he truly realized how deeply rooted families could possess such extensive knowledge. 0

"By the way, I'll be resting at your place tonight; I need to handle another matter tomorrow," Long Yin Yue said calmly, and Yang Haixiong could only nod in agreement. 0

As night fell with a slight chill in the air, Ye Yu and his group shook off the pursuit of Armed Aircraft and immediately drove their mechs deep into the desert. Perhaps due to their speed, the prison guards only sent three waves of people to intercept them before seemingly losing interest in their prison break; no new pursuers appeared. 0

The journey was marked by rolling seas of yellow sand under the deep ink-like night sky. The two elements intertwined created an atmosphere that made everyone feel as if they had entered some strange cosmic starry sky—an odd sensation indeed. 0

However, at this moment, no one had the mood to appreciate the scenery before them. After continuous high-intensity battles, Ye Yu and the Robed Woman were already physically and mentally exhausted. Fortunately, the Type 6 Mech could operate automatically, but even so, both of them looked pale, as if they might faint at any moment. 0

The desert, even in the deep of night, was much drier than ordinary areas. Ye Yu felt as if his entire body was on fire, yet there was hardly any sweat on him—only salt crystals left behind from evaporated sweat. 0

"Sir, how much longer until we reach your oasis?" Ye Yu forced himself to endure the discomfort and asked the Nameless Old Man. The mech he was piloting was severely damaged, and the temperature control system had failed to activate, leaving him directly exposed to the scorching heat of the desert, which drained him even more than the battles had. 0

The girl had already moved to the Robed Woman's mech, while the Thin Young Man sat beside him. However, this Thin Young Man appeared vigilant as he scanned their surroundings, seemingly unaffected by the desert heat. 0

"About fifty kilometers," the Nameless Old Man replied, a flicker of uncertainty in his eyes. He trusted his memory but knew that the desert's conditions could change unpredictably. Even he couldn't be sure if the oasis he had seen many years ago still existed. However, he certainly couldn't reveal his true thoughts; that oasis was not far from the edge of the desert. As long as they traveled another fifty kilometers, even without an oasis, they would be able to exit safely. 0

Ye Yu looked up at the distance; there were almost no reference points in the desert. He only knew that they had already crossed over a hundred kilometers. 0

Meanwhile, in a heavily guarded area, there stood a black building. Inside its largest hall, a group of people dressed in Silver Uniforms were busy working with various three-dimensional images. 0

Everyone's fingers moved rapidly, causing those images to change continuously as sets of data appeared swiftly. Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be sets of Coordinate Data. 0

However, one particular three-dimensional image was different; it depicted a Cosmic Starry Sky. Amongst it, one planet looked somewhat familiar. This planet displayed a maple leaf red color overall, occasionally brushed by white clouds that floated gracefully—it was Sin City, Silver Dragon Star! 0

Dominating this scene was a long cylindrical instrument resembling a telescope. It seemed to be slowly adjusting its trajectory; originally aimed into space, it was now focused on this beautiful planet. 0

"The Base Defense Weapon hasn't adjusted its firing direction in a long time. I didn't expect we would need to deploy a Base Weapon tonight," said a soldier who appeared to be a commander, puzzled about what kind of crisis warranted such action. 0

"Target acquired!" 0

"Coordinates have been adjusted!" 0

“Countdown Shot!” 0

“Ten!” 0

“Nine!” 0

“Eight!” 0

... 0

The hall was filled with a chorus of voices, and everyone’s expressions grew significantly more serious. For many, this was their first time witnessing the Base Weapon's ground attack, and naturally, they felt a bit anxious. 0

... 0

Having walked in darkness for so long, it was inevitable to feel some discomfort. Ye Yu thought for a moment and said, “Let’s turn on the lights. A little illumination will give us some reassurance.” 0

Just as he finished speaking, Ye Yu suddenly felt an overwhelming sense of dread. It was a feeling he had never experienced in his eighteen years of life—a terrifying pressure brought by the specter of death. 0

A piercing alarm blared from within the mech. Instinctively, Ye Yu looked up. Through the glass window above the mech, he saw a mass of Crimson Light Beam rapidly expanding. The beam was dazzling and contained a violent energy. 0

You must have light; thus, a beam descended from the starry sky. 0
