I stopped at the corner between the third and second floors, opening the fire hydrant and pulling out the hose inside. 0

"What are you doing?" the Cleaner asked. 0

"Trust me, I've done extreme sports before," I replied while securing the hose. "Hold on tight and don't let go." 0

In the distance, footsteps grew louder and closer. I took a deep breath, wrapped my arms around the Cleaner, and leaped out of the window. The hose traced a graceful arc through the air as we swung toward the parking lot, propelled by centrifugal force. 0

"Bang!" Another gunshot rang out. The bullet severed the hose, and we crashed heavily onto the roof of the parking lot before rolling onto a nearby van. 0

"Damn!" I gritted my teeth against the pain as I got up. "Are you okay?" 0

The Cleaner said nothing, merely pointing silently at a short distance away. Li Jun's Assault Team was flanking from the shadows, engaging in a firefight with Li Wei's men. 0

"Move!" Zhang Lei shouted in my earpiece. "The police are on their way!" 0

I dragged the Cleaner toward the evacuation point that Li Jun had arranged. The gunfire behind us intensified, but it was impossible to tell who was shooting at whom. 0

Just then, a shadow lunged at us from the side. It was Li Wei! 0

"Hand over the USB Drive!" he shouted, lunging at me with a crazed look in his eyes. 0

Instinctively, I raised my hand to block him, but I didn't expect him to be so agile. An elbow strike caught me squarely on the chin, and my vision blurred as I nearly lost my balance. 0

"Bang!" A dull thud echoed. Li Wei suddenly clutched his head and collapsed. The Cleaner stood over him with a steel pipe—something he had picked up when we fell from the roof. 0

"Run!" he shouted with the last of his strength. 0

Shaking off Li Wei, we continued to sprint forward. In the distance, the sound of sirens was already audible. Just as we were about to reach the evacuation point, Cleaner suddenly faltered and collapsed to the ground. 0

"Don't sleep!" I slapped his face. "We're almost there!" 0

"It's too late..." His voice grew weaker. "Take the evidence and go... Don't let them... succeed..." 0

At that moment, a bright light illuminated us. A black van stopped in front of us, and the door swung open to reveal Zhang Lei's anxious face. "Get in!" 0

I scooped up Cleaner and jumped into the vehicle. As it sped away, I could see Backup Center surrounded by police cars in the distance. 0

"To the hospital!" I yelled. 0

Zhang Lei replied urgently, "No! The hospital requires registration; they'll definitely check. We need to go to our safe house first." 0

The van wove through the night. Cleaner's breathing became increasingly shallow, giving me a chance to examine his face closely. He was wearing a mask, but it had loosened during the earlier struggle. 0

"Let me see who you really are," I said as I reached for his mask. 0

He suddenly grabbed my hand. "No... don't..." 0

But it was too late. The moment the mask was pulled away, my mind went blank. 0

It was a familiar face—so familiar that it made my heart ache. 0

"Qin Yu?" I said, trembling as I spoke her name. 0

"It's been a long time... old classmate," she replied with a bitter smile, tears welling in the corners of her eyes. 0

In an instant, memories flooded back like a tidal wave. Two years ago, Qin Yu was a well-known expert in financial technology. But after a major investment project, she suddenly declared bankruptcy and vanished. At the time, rumors circulated that she had absconded with funds, but I never believed it. 0

"I'm sorry... I didn't recognize you sooner," I said, gripping her hand tightly. "If I had known..." 0

"Don't blame yourself," her voice grew weaker. "For the past two years, I've been investigating the truth. Finally... finally, I've found the evidence. Li Wei... he designed a perfect scam. Not just me, but many others... have been deceived by him." 0

"Stop talking; saving your life is the priority!" 0

"No... you need to know," she insisted. "Li Wei's goal was never money. What he wants is... power. Origin Awakening World is just his first step. Once he controls this virtual world, he can... manipulate the financial system of the real world." 0

My heart sank. If this was true, then the implications of this case were far beyond our imagination. 0

"Promise me..." Qin Yu suddenly grasped my hand tightly, "you must... stop him..." 0

Her grip slowly loosened as she lost consciousness. 0

"Hurry!" I shouted ahead, "She's fading fast!" 0
