"Good day, sir. May I ask if you have an appointment?" A qipao-clad receptionist approached, her demeanor and movements strikingly lifelike. The production cost for an NPC model of this caliber must be at least in the millions. 0

It seemed that the funding behind "Paradise Space" was indeed substantial. I glanced at the receptionist's program code and was surprised to find that her design style resembled that of the plugin from the launch event, both featuring specific encryption characteristics. 0

"I was referred by 'Phantom,'" I stated the code word while activating the data recording program that Zhang Lei had given me. 0

The receptionist's expression showed a slight unnatural pause—this subtle program delay was a sign of processing special permissions. Sure enough, they had already set up a response mechanism. 0

"So you are a distinguished guest introduced by Mr. Phantom," her tone noticeably shifted. "Please follow me; a spot in the VIP area has been reserved for you." 0

As we passed through the hall, I noticed a familiar figure in the corner. The trader's operating style was strikingly similar to Li Wei's. But logically, he should have been deterred by my warning... 0

Navigating through the bustling hall, the receptionist led me into a quiet corridor. The virtual decor became increasingly luxurious, with even the carpet shimmering faintly with golden light. Such effects cost thousands in rendering fees per hour in Origin Awakening World, all to make these investors feel the "difference in status." 0

The information Zhang Lei provided indicated that high-end virtual clubs like this had suddenly increased in number. They were often linked to suspicious financial flows, yet regulatory bodies found it challenging to pinpoint any breakthroughs. 0

At the end of the corridor stood a room with an antique charm, styled after Tang Dynasty architecture. I scanned the few individuals present; they were unfamiliar big shots, dressed in suits and wearing serious expressions. However, by professional instinct, I suspected they were mostly "Shadow Walkers," system-generated false identities. 0

"Thank you for your patience," a middle-aged man wearing gold-rimmed glasses stood up. "I am the Technical Director of Future Vision Technology. You can call me Old Wang." 0

As he spoke, I noticed his left ring finger twitching slightly—this was a common habit when using advanced virtual devices. During police academy training, we specifically studied such details in surveillance. 0

Ironically, this detail mirrored Li Wei's habitual gestures perfectly. I recalled what Zhang Lei had told me earlier that morning: "This circle really consists of just a few people; it's always the same old faces." 0

"You all should be aware of the news about the upcoming update for Origin Awakening World," Old Wang said, opening a holographic projection with a hint of mystery in his voice. "But the information circulating out there is not accurate." 0

The lights in the room dimmed, and the projection displayed several data points from Virtual Community. My heart tightened when I saw the logo of Creation World—the platform where Zhang Lei had worked ten years ago, the very place where the internal hacking incident he mentioned had occurred. 0

"Origin Awakening World is preparing to acquire several large Virtual Communities," Old Wang continued confidently. "The announcement will come soon, and at that time, the Virtual Assets of these platforms will at least triple." 0

The others in the room visibly perked up. This news was indeed enticing; if they positioned themselves early, the profits could be substantial. However, I noticed that as Old Wang spoke, his gaze drifted toward a corner of the room—where a young man sat with his head down, engrossed in his phone. 0

The man's attire was quite ordinary, standing out among this group dressed in suits. Strangely enough, it seemed as if no one acknowledged his presence. I caught a glimpse of his ID out of the corner of my eye; it was a string of random gibberish. 0

This did not conform to the ID rules of Origin Awakening World. Unless... he was using a system more advanced than my own "Shadow Walker." 0
