“Beep beep beep—” The piercing alarm suddenly echoed throughout the office. The monitoring screen flashed with Red Light, and my heart raced: someone was aggressively attacking the company’s database! 0

Fingers flew across the keyboard as I quickly pinpointed the source of the attack. The origins were scattered around the globe, employing highly professional techniques. Each IP node was rapidly sending encrypted data packets, and the fluctuation patterns in the data flow were identical to when Li Wei Account was hacked. 0

“Why are they so eager to deliver themselves?” A cold smile crept onto my lips. As a Security Engineer, I had long set up a honeypot trap in the database. This was a special defense system that appeared to be a server riddled with vulnerabilities, but in reality, every port was filled with tracking programs. 0

Several specially crafted bait Accounts quickly showed signs of abnormal logins. The opponent had indeed taken the bait. I stared intently at the screen and began to trace back along the trajectory of the data packets. After years in the cybersecurity field, I had never encountered such an audacious adversary. 0

Reverse tracing wasn’t easy. The opponent used at least seven layers of proxies, with data packets weaving through servers around the world like a game of Tai Chi. Tokyo, London, New York, Singapore... But every seasoned expert knew that the more deliberate the detours, the easier it was to expose patterns. 0

Sure enough, after some analysis, I discovered that all data streams ultimately passed through a specific node for transfer. Following this lead, I found that this node's physical location was surprisingly within the server room of “Future Vision Technology.” 0

“They dare to use their own servers for this; they have quite a nerve.” Just as I prepared to delve deeper into the investigation, the screen flickered suddenly. The opponent cut off all connections, reacting faster than I had anticipated. When I searched again, that suspicious node along with all online traces of “Future Vision Technology” had vanished from cyberspace as if someone had pressed the delete key. 0

“Interesting.” I pulled out a quick-acting heart pill and chewed on one; it was a habit left over from late-night work sessions. The blockchain transaction records showed that three hours ago there had been a large transaction of 470 million between “Future Vision Technology” and “Paradise Space” club. 0

“Old Zhang, take a look at this number.” I sent a screenshot to Zhang Lei, who was always online. As the company’s technical director, he was very sensitive to virtual currency trends. 0

“470 million?” Zhang Lei quickly replied, “With the current market conditions, no one would be foolish enough to exchange such a large sum of real money for Virtual Assets. Unless…” 0

“Unless this is just a ruse,” I interjected. 0

I opened the company’s internal communication and briefly explained, “Old Zhang, help me prepare a set of ‘Shadow Walker’ systems using the tech department’s budget. By the way, let Xiao Lin cover for me tomorrow; I might need to take a day off.” 0

"Are you going to go solo again?" Zhang Lei's voice carried a hint of helplessness. "Do you remember the last case with the drug enforcement team? You almost got yourself caught." 0

I chuckled lightly. "But you guys have my back, right? Don't worry, this time I'm just going to 'Paradise Space' for a visit, and to catch up with an old friend." 0

After hanging up, I marked my calendar: 8 PM the day after tomorrow. Although I knew it was likely a trap, sometimes traps could be the best breakthrough for a cybersecurity engineer who graduated from the police academy. 0

Glancing at the photo frame on my desk, I saw a picture from last year's company annual meeting. Li Wei looked so spirited in that photo; who would have thought things would turn out like this? Sometimes, life really is beyond our control. 0

"I have to head home!" Zhang Lei's voice echoed down the hallway. "My partner said she’s making dumplings this morning and wants me to come back and help with the dough." 0
