"Kill—"
Lin Yi charged forward without a moment's hesitation. To the vast majority, Lin Yi was merely the Captain of a Mercenary group. Only a few knew his true identity, and seeing the President of the Mercenary Alliance be the first to attack Zombies ignited a surge of excitement in them.
Lin Yi, who had initially appeared calm, fixed his gaze on three figures not far away. It was these three who had once chased him like a lost dog, and it was because of them that Lucy had found herself in dire straits!
"Hey, Captain Lin's combat power has improved quite a bit, but this time you won't escape our encirclement!" A tall man licked his lips with a scarlet tongue. In his dark eyes flickered traces of cruel light.
Lin Yi's hearing was exceptionally sharp; he understood what they were saying. These three were none other than Bull, Old Ghost, and Witch, who had once cornered him in the West Coast region of America! All three had surpassed the Ten-Star Peak and reached a level where they could create their own space!
"You three, as humans, are willing to serve Zombies!"
Lin Yi's anger flared when he realized they were still human. Knowing the dangers posed by Zombies yet choosing to ally with them against their own kind was more despicable than those who had already undergone Corpseification!
In an instant, Lin Yi closed the distance to the three of them. The next moment, flames erupted around him! Facing these traitors, Lin Yi's greatest desire was to burn them all to ashes!
In the blink of an eye, a torrent of flames engulfed an area within a hundred meters. Many Zombies that hadn't managed to escape were instantly caught in the Fire Sea.
The smell of charred flesh quickly filled the air; those Zombies caught off guard turned into wisps of black smoke and vanished without a trace.
"Old Ghost, Witch, what are you waiting for?"
Though Bull appeared to be a brute with his large frame, he was actually quite astute; otherwise, he wouldn't have risen to such heights. As soon as Lin Yi unleashed his devastating attack, he had already prepared himself!
At that moment, Bull raised his hands, creating ripples of dark gray energy. The surrounding Fire Sea seemed to meet its match and began to dissipate.
As Bull spoke, Old Ghost in his black robe and Witch in her red battle attire quickly formed a triangular formation with him, trapping Lin Yi within.
An eerie phenomenon occurred. The once ferocious flames vanished at the moment the three joined forces; only the flames around Lin Yi continued to flicker.
Lin Yi stood in the center with a grim expression. Although he had just taken down dozens of Nine-Star Zombies in the blink of an eye, this was still far from his intended target. He hadn’t anticipated how quickly they would react and how thoroughly they would surround him.
Among these three, Bull was clearly the strongest and served as their main fighting force. However, their Bestow Unique Ability was exceedingly strange; it seemed to absorb energy, rendering any energy attacks against him ineffective!
Lin Yi realized that while they hadn’t created an absolute space yet, they had subtly isolated him from the outside world.
"Crack—"
A bolt of lightning suddenly erupted from Lin Yi's hand, and a curved blade appeared in his grasp, crackling with electricity, exuding an intimidating aura.
"I'll take the first cut!"
Lin Yi glanced at the black-robed Old Ghost, feeling a wave of annoyance wash over him. As soon as his words fell, he vanished from sight!
"Spatial Restraint!"
At the moment Lin Yi disappeared, Witch Scarlet hurriedly uttered four words. The once turbulent air around them instantly stilled, as if it had turned into a stagnant pool. Everything froze in that moment, like a paused movie screen!
"Buzz—"
A light tremor sounded, and the previously vanished Lin Yi reappeared. He was now only an arm's length away from Old Ghost, but the Lightning Blade in his hand hovered less than an inch above Old Ghost's head. If Witch Scarlet had been even a moment slower, Old Ghost would truly have become a ghost!
"Captain Lin, after all these years, you still haven't made any progress, Hehehehe—" Witch Scarlet chuckled maliciously, her voice hoarse and reminiscent of a crow's caw.
"If this is all you’ve got, then I’m sorry!"
A hint of disdain flickered across Lin Yi's brow, and then he suddenly shouted, "Break—"
In an instant, arcs of lightning surged from Lin Yi's body, moving like giant fish swimming through the confined space!
Old Ghost felt his scalp tingle at the sight of Lin Yi’s devilish grin so close to him! Before he could react, the Lightning Blade that had been hovering above him suddenly swung down toward his head.
"No—" Old Ghost realized that his movements were being suppressed; escaping was impossible. He shouted desperately as thick black smoke filled with chilling energy erupted from him and surged toward Lin Yi's Lightning Blade!
In the blink of an eye, a thick layer of black ice crystals formed atop Old Ghost's head! The sharp sensation that had nearly pierced his scalp vanished in that instant.
Old Ghost's face lit up with joy as he felt the energy within him surge, preparing to evade Lin Yi's lethal strike.
At that moment, Old Ghost noticed a cold smile flash across Lin Yi's face. Suddenly, there was a sharp crack sound, and Old Ghost felt a chilling sensation on top of his head.
A powerful burning sensation swept through Old Ghost's entire body, accompanied by a sharp sting. He felt as if the snowmelt of winter had met the scorching sun of summer, and in that instant, his body shattered apart!
At the moment when Old Ghost's consciousness completely dissipated, he finally saw that it was a Lightning Blade, much larger than the one he had just seen, that had cleaved him in two. The blade radiated a chilling aura. However, Old Ghost had no chance to feel that sensation as he transformed into wisps of black smoke, dispersing into the surroundings.
"Then, you are next!"
Lin Yi turned swiftly, his form resembling that of a giant dragon, and in an instant, he pounced in front of the Witch! At this moment, Old Ghost had just been split in half!
The entire sequence of events unfolded so quickly that it wasn't until Old Ghost was dead that Bull finally reacted!
"Witch's heart!"
Bull shouted as he mobilized all his energy to charge at Lin Yi, trying to obstruct his actions! He was confident that his ability could halt Lin Yi's advance!
But then, a strange scene occurred; Lin Yi, who had been standing not far away, suddenly transformed into a colorful portal!
"Alternate Dimension!"
Bull's reaction was swift, but at that moment, all the energy attacks he released were drawn into the Alternate Dimension.
Seizing this opportunity, Lin Yi instantly arrived beside the Witch. Just then, a pink mist suddenly enveloped the Witch. Lin Yi quickly held his breath.
However, at that moment, it was as if the mist had gained eyes and wrapped around Lin Yi completely. In the next instant, scenes of passionate encounters flooded Lin Yi's mind, and his fighting spirit seemed on the verge of collapse.
"Rise—"
In less than a blink of an eye, Lin Yi maintained clarity in his mind as the temperature around him plummeted sharply, freezing all those pink entities into ice crystals.
Seeing Lin Yi escape her seduction in such a short time shocked the Witch greatly; however, she no longer had time to stop him!
The confinement space held no effect on someone of Lin Yi's strength! In the next moment, the icy crystals formed from the originally frozen pink mist expanded their range and completely encased the Witch's entire body in ice.
"Lin Yi, I will fight you!"
Upon seeing the Witch's aura vanish, Bull could no longer care about anything else. He transformed into a massive bull and charged at Lin Yi.
"Roar—"
Lin Yi let out a fierce roar and unleashed a metallic energy block. In that moment, something miraculous happened. The energy block seemed to be transformed by the hand of God, morphing into a gigantic Cage.
With a thud, Bull found himself trapped inside the metallic Cage, which began to spin rapidly, disorienting him completely.
Though he was called Bull, he was still human and had no desire to be confined in a cage. The instant he realized he was trapped, he began to frantically pound against the metal bars surrounding him. However, no matter how hard he struck, the bars showed no signs of yielding. He felt like a baby swinging its fists at ancient trees, utterly ineffective.
"No, you can't imprison me!"
Bull roared as he crashed against the walls of his confinement. Even as bruises formed on his body from the impact, it was all in vain. The vast difference in strength sealed his fate.
"If energy attacks can't defeat you, then I'll simply confine you physically! This metal cage will hold you unless your power surpasses mine; otherwise, you'll never escape!"
Lin Yi squinted his eyes while hovering in mid-air, an air of superiority emanating from him. The once defiant Bull now resembled a beast facing the king of the jungle, gradually quieting down.
"Your black-robed companion has already undergone Corpseification; I cannot allow them to remain. As for you two, considering you are still human, I can offer you a chance!"
