Ying Sa glanced at Lin Yi, her face flushed and her eyes sparkling as she looked at him. She softly chided, "It's annoying. Their opinions don't matter; I like what I like, and there's no need for so many explanations!" Lin Yi's hand inadvertently brushed against the soft part of Ying Sa's waist, causing her to shiver slightly. However, she quickly settled into his embrace, completely unconcerned about the gazes of others. Yet, Lin Yi's mind was racing with thoughts; he didn't feel as relaxed about his situation with Ying Sa as he appeared. Deep down, he had always trusted Li Qiweng, but after several close calls where Li Qiweng had nearly taken him out, Lin Yi's confidence in him had begun to crumble. Although he was now with Ying Sa, he couldn't help but remember Li Qiweng constantly, feeling that he had made a grave mistake. The reality of the situation left Lin Yi uncertain about his choices; he realized he couldn't bear to be apart from Ying Sa either. This feeling made him feel utterly shameless.
"Koala Uncle, you've really lost out this time; this woman has become the president of their newspaper!" Wang Zijun looked at Lin Yi with a mischievous grin, and from her expression, everyone could tell they understood the implication. Upon hearing Wang Zijun's words, a hint of displeasure crossed Ying Sa's previously sweet face; she had witnessed the events unfold firsthand. She hadn't expected things to turn around so quickly, leaving her feeling unprepared.
Lin Yi was puzzled about how Wang Zijun knew this information, but given her status, it wasn't difficult for her to find out—after all, there were others present at the time. "The previous battle wasn't in vain; your praises have already taken root in people's hearts. Although later they spread your misdeeds widely, it hasn't completely reversed their opinions. Now that we've released a video of you bravely fighting the Giant Zombie, many people are starting to doubt the authenticity of the smear campaign against you!" Wang Bo stepped forward. He had specifically walked around the military camp that morning and heard quite a few positive discussions about Lin Yi.
Lin Yi nodded. The current situation was much better for him; at least he wasn't fighting alone. If they could seize the opportunity and find enough evidence to prove Lin Yi was wronged, they could turn the tide.
"By the way, Speaker Wang, how is the situation with that Super Zombie you were dealing with?" Lin Yi suddenly remembered this matter upon seeing Wang Kai's serious expression. Wang Kai surveyed everyone before Lin Yi felt a wave of energy envelop them.
"This matter is confidential; I fear it might be overheard," Wang Kai explained before continuing, "Once combat power exceeds ten Star Levels, it becomes god-like in existence. Since it's a god, it naturally becomes very difficult to kill. I fought that Zombie until it was left with just its head; my body was nearly in tatters and my combat power greatly diminished. However, it's not dead yet—this level of injury would be fatal for Ten-Star Combat Power beings, but for those exceeding ten Star Levels, as long as there's still a piece of flesh intact, they can recover. It just takes a long time!"
Wang Kai's words sent chills through everyone; this truly sounded like an Immortal Body. Lin Yi recalled encountering such a Zombie before but knew that it relied on a Bestow Unique Ability. He believed that if such an ability were reduced to just a head, it would also be doomed!
"Such power is truly enviable," Froeman muttered quietly. However, everyone present was skilled enough to hear him; his words echoed what everyone else felt except for Wang Kai.
Lin Yi looked at the now-recovered Wang Kai and asked, "How can this Zombie regain its strength?"
Wang Kai sighed and replied, "That's what I'm most worried about; as long as it consumes enough flesh and blood, it can regain its strength and may even break through again."
"So you're saying it's going to come after us soon?" Lin Yi recalled Wang Kai's earlier statement: if they didn't succeed, they would face a decisive battle. Now that Wang Kai hadn't eliminated the true powerhouse yet, when that Zombie rose again, it would surely lead to confrontation.
Wang Kai nodded in agreement: "That's true; however, it's currently injured and won't recover quickly—we still have time to prepare."
"What do we need to do?" A sense of unease crept into Lin Yi's heart; Australia was already densely populated with Zombies. If that Zombie King truly intended to wage war, the situation here could become dire.
"Haha! Chairman Lin has more important matters to attend to; leave dealing with that Giant Zombie to me," Wang Kai said confidently.
Despite his severe injuries, after injecting himself with that blue liquid earlier, he felt an exhilarating sense of rebirth. Only by battling against other experts would he know how much stronger he had become. Sensing the aura radiating from Wang Kai made Lin Yi realize that he was indeed crucial for Australia's survival. If even Wang Kai fell, then Lin Yi's presence here would be meaningless.
"I'm not afraid anymore; I know there are still many people supporting me," Lin Yi thought as he considered his mission ahead. At least now he wasn't alone—he was no longer just the Mercenary King for show!
Wang Kai glanced around at everyone before speaking softly without making any sound—a testament to how cautious he was being. While these individuals wouldn't betray him outright, Wang Kai knew there were powerful forces watching over them and couldn't afford any carelessness.
In many parts of the Northern Hemisphere, temperatures had begun to drop; however, this small path remained sweltering hot. If not for the lush greenery covering the island, standing here even for a moment would be unbearable.
At this moment, a Bald Man stood atop a high point overlooking a group of about one hundred people below him. These individuals varied in appearance and included both men and women who wore black tactical gear even under the blazing sun while sporting sunglasses.
"This operation will succeed; everyone will benefit! If we fail... well then it's every man for himself! We understand how powerful our enemies are but our nine departments have united before! This time everyone's strength has been enhanced! You are all the strongest from each department—I trust you won't let me down or disappoint Mr. Big! As long as we have confidence, Traitor will surely face justice!" The Bald Man concluded his speech by checking his communicator but received no new messages.
Suddenly without any further action from him, these individuals vanished like popped bubbles into thin air.
Meanwhile, Lin Yi led his team stealthily in one direction without using Spatial Ability to avoid drawing attention from powerful foes due to energy fluctuations. Besides Lin Yi’s group members—Elisa and Wang Zijun also joined them!
As they departed quietly from their location similar teams resembling Lin Yi’s were moving in different directions as well.
Lin Yi’s team continued advancing cautiously without releasing any energy whatsoever. After traveling day and night without revealing their presence through energy use for hundreds of kilometers—Wang Kai suddenly arrived and brought them to Eastern African Coast.
Lin Yi had no idea how powerful Wang Kai truly was but since he acted this way it showed his confidence in executing their plan flawlessly.
At that moment on what seemed like calm waters suddenly emerged a dark shadow resembling a Giant Whale’s back.
"Let’s go!" Lin Yi patted Froeman who seemed dazed; clearly Froeman recognized that shadow belonged to Rover Submarine but didn’t know when Lin Yi gained control over it.
A series of splashes echoed as everyone swam over without using any energy again until they all boarded the Submarine whereupon Lin Yi immediately descended it to maximum diving depth.
Due to confidentiality regarding their target none knew exactly where they were headed—all operations were personally handled by Lin Yi himself.
Five days later when frustrations began surfacing among them—Lin Yi finally revealed their destination!
"Our target this time is Deman!" At last revealing their mission purpose!
"What!" "Global Security Conference Chairman!" "How is that possible!" Upon hearing Lin Yi’s words everyone gasped in shock—Deman’s strength aside who would expect them to eliminate him? It felt akin to bringing toy guns against special forces—a recipe for disaster!
"Don’t worry! We have an insider; he won’t always be surrounded by elite forces! The Armed Forces around him are manageable!" Lin Yi gestured for silence among them—now so close to their enemy even he felt nervous.
