The direction of the One Hundred Thousand Expeditionary Force was towards the Libyan Desert, where scattered human resistance units were located. Although Zombies were formidable, they were also affected by the harsh conditions of the desert; dehydration was a significant enemy for them as well. 0

The Nile Defense Zone only covered an area of about two hundred kilometers on either side of the Nile River, and beyond this range lay the officially occupied territory of the Zombies. However, this vast land had seen a significant decrease in human presence due to Corpseification, resulting in a lower density of Zombies compared to what had been encountered in Addis Ababa, where most humans in Central and Eastern Africa had already undergone Corpseification. 0

As Zombies continued to evolve, they became an organized force, gathering together and using available resources to fiercely confront humans. 0

Lin Yi's massive army had already entered the Zombie-occupied area for several hours, yet the only Zombies they encountered were solitary ordinary ones; not even a single Giant Zombie was sighted. 0

The hundred thousand troops were not moving as a single unit but were dispersed within a thirty-kilometer radius: twenty thousand on each flank and thirty thousand in the front and rear. Lin Yi was positioned in the middle with his Blood Envoy Mercenary Corps, accompanied by one hundred so-called Guard Camp members and a Staff Team. 0

Accompanying them was a reporter. Despite the dangers of this operation, Lin Yi had not anticipated that a reporter would actively follow them. It was the Blonde Reporter he remembered well; any man who had seen her ample bosom found it hard to forget her presence. At that moment, she was inside Lin Yi's command vehicle, fiddling with her equipment while continuously asking him questions. 0

"Captain Lin... Oh—no, I should say Commander Lin! Do you have confidence in bringing everyone new surprises this time?" The female reporter realized her mistake and instinctively patted her fair chest, causing her slightly trembling curves to leave onlookers breathless. 0

Lin Yi's gaze momentarily faltered. Although the command vehicle was primarily for his use, it wasn't convenient for him to indulge in his desires. However, he quickly steadied his emotions as the camera focused on him. 0

"This operation is part of a long-planned initiative by the African Union. I cannot guarantee immediate success. But I can assure you that as long as there is breath left in me, I will not give up fighting!" As Lin Yi spoke, he reclined on a single sofa while his eyes gazed out of the vehicle. 0

Outside was an expanse of yellow sand. The air was thick with swirling dust. The camera lens shifted to capture the outside scene. Within seconds, a group of ragged individuals appeared on screen. Each person looked disheveled and emaciated, clearly suffering from malnutrition. Yet their eyes reflected a fierce determination unafraid of death. 0

Lin Yi felt a jolt of surprise as his Silver Soul Battle Blade emitted a low hum behind him. The "Silver Soul" Battle Blade had been re-engineered into a Monocrystalline Metal Battle Blade, its sharpness now intimidating even to Lin Yi himself. However, crafting this Silver Soul Battle Blade was not without cost; the latest technology came with a staggering price tag. Lin Yi had nearly exhausted all his personal income to forge both his "Silver Soul" and Li Qiweng's "Dragon's Roar" Silver Soul Battle Blades. Fortunately, being deployed in the field meant that any Zombies he killed would earn him substantial Contribution Points. 0

As those people drew closer, it seemed they were specifically heading for his command vehicle. Lin Yi found it strange how they had crossed his defensive line to reach the central area. After all, surrounding them were one hundred thousand troops; how could a group of over a hundred people approach silently? 0

Lin Yi halted the vehicle and swiftly exited. His mental perception indicated that these individuals were not Zombies, but he could not ascertain whether they had allied with them. 0

The others quickly sensed something was amiss; one staff officer appeared distressed as he whispered into his communicator. Lin Yi subtly adjusted his ears and realized he was contacting Ibn, who was responsible for leading the forward troops—a critical role indeed. 0

At that moment, Lin Yi felt an unusual energy wave flash past him. In just an instant, he lost track of its source entirely. 0

"Surely you are the Nile Expeditionary Force Commander Mr. Lin Yi!" Just as Lin Yi was feeling puzzled, a scruffy-looking man stepped out from the crowd, placing one hand on his chest and giving a slight bow to Lin Yi. 0

"An Eight-Star Level!" Lin Yi instinctively exclaimed as he sensed the power radiating from the man. 0

"Haha, compared to your ability to slay Nine-Star Zombies, my humble skills are truly insignificant!" The scruffy man laughed heartily, exuding an overwhelming aura of confidence. 0

Although he seemed to praise Lin Yi's strength, there was an underlying hint of disdain in his demeanor. 0

Lin Yi understood that strong individuals often have a mutual disdain for each other. After nearly two years of experience, he knew this was not the time to dwell on such matters. Moreover, he suspected that their ability to breach multiple defenses might be attributed to this self-assured scruffy man. 0

"I wonder how to address you. What brings you here at such great effort?" Lin Yi noticed that the combat capabilities of the over one hundred people present were impressive, with the weakest being at least One-Star Level. However, most of them lacked stable energy, likely due to having forcibly enhanced their abilities through drugs without proper training. 0

To combat the threat of Zombies, many humans resorted to unsafe Potential Unleasher drugs. While their strength increased in a short time, the extent of harm to their bodies remained uncertain. 0

"You can call me Mod, just an unnamed soldier," said the man who introduced himself as Mod, his eyelids slightly drooping as if recalling something unpleasant. 0

Lin Yi squinted, his mind racing as he tried to recall who this man was. At that moment, one of his aides approached and whispered, "He is the leader of the elite forces of the Libyan Guerrilla Army, a significant figure within the exiled government of Libya!" 0

"Hello, Mr. Mod!" After saying this, Lin Yi fell silent, realizing that this bold man had come seeking his assistance. 0

"Alright then, Commander Lin, I won't waste any more time. We have come seeking help; we hope you can assist us in exterminating the Zombies!" Mod looked troubled, as if it were a matter of great shame. 0

Lin Yi smiled and replied, "Our mission is originally to eliminate Zombies, so there's no question of whether we can help." 0

"As a soldier, it is my disgrace if I cannot protect even the civilians!" Mod's eyes were bloodshot and filled with complex emotions. 0

For Lin Yi, honor was not something he placed much weight on. He gently patted Mod on the shoulder, signaling him to follow him into the command vehicle. Meanwhile, the other members were led away by other members of the Mercenary group to rest first. 0

The air inside the command vehicle was significantly better than outside where dust swirled around. After entering, a disheveled Mod felt as though there was no place for his feet to rest. 0

"Feel free to speak. No matter how good the place is, if we can't eliminate the Zombies, we will ultimately lose it. So, Mr. Mod, just let us know the situation, and we will do our utmost to help you eradicate the Zombies!" 0

Mr. Mod glanced gratefully at Lin Yi, then sat down on a corner seat and sighed deeply. "Our largest Base Camp has been completely surrounded by Zombies for almost half a month now. Those Zombies have somehow acquired electronic jamming devices, and we can't send out any messages. 0

As the losses continued to mount, the Temporary Council finally decided to send people out to break through and seek support. My Special Operations Force, with over a thousand members, is the main force for this breakout, but the power of the Zombies is simply too overwhelming. By the time my team arrived here after fighting their way through, only this many of us were left." 0

At this point, Mr. Mod's eyes reddened as he looked at his companions who had fought alongside him, many of whom had perished at the hands of the Zombies while he could do nothing but flee for his life. 0

"How many Zombies are there?" Lin Yi's eyelids twitched; this Expeditionary Force's first major battle might not be as easy as he had imagined. 0

"At least eight hundred thousand!" Mr. Mod's eyes were fixed on Lin Yi, fearing that he might suddenly back out from rescuing their Base Camp. 0

"How many troops do you have? Or how many people can fight?" Lin Yi was confident in his Expeditionary Force's strength, but eight hundred thousand Zombies certainly included a significant number of High-Level Zombies! 0

"Twenty thousand combat troops!" Mr. Mod replied but then suddenly stood up. "If possible, all two million citizens can also serve as fighters!" 0

Lin Yi smiled awkwardly; it seemed that Mr. Mod misunderstood him and thought he wouldn't help. It wasn't that Lin Yi looked down on ordinary people; their combat ability was insufficient even against regular Zombies, let alone formidable High-Level Zombies. If they were truly needed for assistance, they would likely end up either becoming food for the Zombies or directly Corpseified into Zombies themselves. 0

"Mr. Mod, please provide us with the route; we will set off immediately!" As soon as Lin Yi finished speaking, a three-dimensional map appeared in the center of the command vehicle, displaying the topography of the entire African region. 0
