Suddenly, it felt as if the air had been sucked dry, and the surrounding currents came to a halt. Lin Yi found himself in an environment that felt almost like a vacuum, a sense of pressure weighing down on him.
This uncomfortable sensation lasted only a moment before Lin Yi sensed five new forces joining the fray of the Nine-Star Level battle. The situation on the battlefield shifted to two against one, with human Nine-Star Masters ganging up on a Zombie Nine-Star Master!
Although Lin Yi could not join the fray, the profound nature of the battle inspired him. Despite currently being at the Seven-Star Peak level, he believed he would soon reach the Eight-Star Level, Nine-Star Level, or even stronger!
Fueled by adrenaline, Lin Yi threw himself back into the fight. The Nine-Star Zombie was surrounded, and the strongest remaining opponent was merely at the Eight-Star Peak level, so Lin Yi had no reason to worry. Furthermore, it was clear that this battle was orchestrated by the Allied Forces, with these Zombies caught in their scheme.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!" With the aid of his War God Suit, Lin Yi's power surged to the Eight-Star Peak. Just moments ago, three Seven-Star Zombies had attempted to surround him, but Lin Yi chose to confront them head-on, sending all three Zombies sprawling! In the next instant, Silver Soul danced wildly as the three Zombies barely had time to register their shock before Lin Yi severed their heads! However, these Super Zombies were not so easily dispatched; they continued to struggle even after losing their heads until Lin Yi's Laser Beam pierced through their skulls, ensuring they were dead beyond any doubt.
"Whoosh—" A gust of wind rushed from behind Lin Yi as his Intelligent System warned him of imminent danger. He knew that an Eight-Star Zombie was approaching from behind. He swayed slightly as the Zombie's iron rod swung toward him but found it was merely an afterimage!
"Target locked!" As soon as the command echoed in his mind, a brilliant beam of light erupted from Lin Yi's arm!
"Thud!" The clean sound rang out as the Zombie that had just missed its strike never anticipated that Lin Yi would have time to fire back after dodging! In less than a second, this newly awakened Eight-Star Zombie barely caught a glimpse of its enemy before being shot through the head by Lin Yi's weapon. Just as it regained consciousness, it felt itself slipping back into chaos—this time without any chance of awakening again!
Lin Yi didn't dwell on it; the feeling of hitting his target was exhilarating! At this moment, knowing escape was futile made the remaining Zombie even more frantic. Having just taken down one foe, another Eight-Star Peak Zombie had already set its sights on Lin Yi.
"Let's finish this quickly!" Li Qiweng said as she swung her black blade effortlessly, cleaving a Seven-Star Zombie's head in two. In an instant, she blurred and appeared beside Lin Yi.
"Okay, dear!" Lin Yi responded enthusiastically to Li Qiweng's words; he felt uplifted knowing she was slowly forgiving him. Although he hadn't done much yet, her attitude had improved significantly.
"Dragon's Roar! Go!" With a sharp sound of metal unsheathing, Li Qiweng drew her equally dark Black Gold Blade.
"Flank from both sides!" Seeing Li Qiweng's serious expression made Lin Yi drop any underestimation. An Eight-Star Peak Zombie capable of working alongside a Nine-Star Zombie was certainly formidable!
In the next moment, that Eight-Star Zombie suddenly blurred and vanished from sight! Lin Yi unleashed his Psychic Power but bizarrely found only a flickering energy in his perception—an energy rapidly approaching Li Qiweng at an alarming speed!
This was bad. It was a half-step into Nine-Star Combat Power Zombie! A jolt ran through Lin Yi’s heart as he felt panic rise.
"Wen, watch out!" he shouted urgently. His previously reserved Psychic Power surged forth entirely. He needed to halt this Eight-Star Zombie's movement—even if just for an instant!
However, it was clearly too late. The Eight-Star Peak Combat Power Zombie had already closed the distance that Lin Yi's Psychic Power could not block!
The Eight-Star Zombie tore through Lin Yi's Psychic Power barrier and stepped right up to Li Qiweng! A gleaming golden Alloy Stick came crashing down, aimed directly at the top of Li Qiweng's head.
"Special threat, all power activated!" Li Qiweng gasped nervously, feeling the intense pressure from the Eight-Star Peak Combat Power Zombie!
Blue flames erupted from beneath Li Qiweng's feet, and the power system in her arms whirred into action. Just as she regained her composure, Li Qiweng thrust both hands forward with the Dragon's Roar Black Gold Blade.
"Clang—" A violent clash echoed as the Zombie's Alloy Stick collided head-on with Li Qiweng's dual blades!
In the next moment, Li Qiweng, who had been floating thanks to the blue flames propelling her upward, was slammed down by the Eight-Star Level Zombie with a single blow!
The power devices in her War God Suit worked desperately, but it sounded like an ancient wooden windmill creaking under strain. Li Qiweng's arms bent instantly as the Alloy Stick was about to strike her head.
"Hah—" Li Qiweng held her breath for a long moment before exhaling forcefully. Her previously bent back began to straighten.
"Hmph, we are the true masters!" The once hideous Zombie now had its features twisted together, and its tattered clothing fluttered as if caught in a wind. A surge of even greater power erupted from it in an instant.
Li Qiweng gritted her teeth but still felt an overwhelming force pressing down on her! Even with the propulsion from her feet, her legs sank further into the ground. The Dragon's Roar Blade was pushed down to its limit, threatening to sever her own arms!
Everything happened in an instant. Lin Yi had just realized that his Psychic Power could not withstand this Zombie's monstrous tearing strength! But now that his wife was being bullied, he would bite off a piece of flesh from this Zombie even if it meant death!
"Huh—" Lin Yi moved with utmost speed. Just as Li Qiweng was about to collapse under the pressure, he swung his blade at the Eight-Star Peak Combat Power Zombie.
Suddenly, Lin Yi sensed that the Zombie had vanished; what he saw was merely an illusion! The Zombie had instantaneously abandoned its attack on Li Qiweng and dodged Lin Yi's strike!
"Special threat!" The Intelligent System alerted him just as Lin Yi felt a chilling power descending from above! The Zombie had somehow leaped directly above Lin Yi in an instant! At this moment, since the system identified it as a special threat, it meant there was still a chance to evade.
Fortune favors the bold; Lin Yi knew he had to take risks to eliminate such a high-level Zombie! As his thoughts began to form in his mind, his hands were already raised!
"Whoosh!" Two crimson Laser Beams shot out in an instant, and at that moment, Lin Yi felt a metallic force piercing dangerously close to the top of his head!
Suddenly, Lin Yi felt the War God Suit react violently, as a tremendous force slammed into his back, causing him to drop flat onto the ground!
With a sharp "thud," a golden rod appeared beside Lin Yi's ear, its surface marred with bright red burn marks. Although there was a distance of over ten centimeters between them, he could still feel the intense heat radiating from it! Just moments ago, Lin Yi had risked firing two Laser Beams that had burned through the body of a descending Zombie, yet the alloy rod remained intact for now. If it weren't for the War God Suit's system reacting in time, Lin Yi would have been impaled by that glowing red rod.
At that moment, an area in the air that had previously shown only weak energy fluctuations suddenly erupted with a violent surge of energy. This energy was powerful but extremely unstable. In the next instant, Lin Yi sensed a Zombie with half an arm missing and tattered clothing.
Suddenly, a hand as white as jade appeared in the air. Before Lin Yi could blink, the hand expanded rapidly and reached for the Zombie's neck. With a swift chop, the Zombie's head fell to the ground with a thud, and its headless body collapsed, kicking up a cloud of dust!
The jade-like hand vanished just as quickly, and soon after, a second Nine-Star Zombie revealed itself. As this Zombie attempted to break free, three hands appeared simultaneously and hacked it into several pieces. Even after falling to the ground, the Zombie continued to writhe for some time before finally succumbing to death!
This scene repeated itself continuously; the remaining three Nine-Star Zombies stood no chance against these three human Nine-Star Level Super Warriors. In less than a minute, these once-mighty Super Zombies were reduced to piles of minced flesh and tossed into the Furnace to be burned to ashes.
Seeing this unfold, the remaining Seven-Star Level and Eight-Star Zombies lost all confidence in resisting. However, humans did not accept Zombie heads; ten Nine-Star Level warriors swiftly annihilated all remaining Zombies with thunderous might.
Then an elder-looking Nine-Star Level powerhouse seized one person from among the crowd—it was the Mercenary Leader whom Lin Yi had tried to negotiate with earlier, someone commanding over a thousand members!
"We owe our overwhelming victory this time to this Zombie follower who informed them about our mere three Nine-Star Warriors," said the elder. "Now let this follower continue to serve his Zombie master!" Without hesitation, he hurled the Mercenary Leader into the Furnace that was still emitting black smoke.
