The battle raged on for ten minutes, but in that brief span, Lin Yi and his team had achieved astonishing results, having eliminated around five thousand Zombies. Although their speed was impressive, the Zombies were not simply lined up for slaughter; the efficiency of their kills slowed considerably as they progressed. Among them were only ten Giant Zombies, which Lin Yi and Beatrice easily dispatched. 0

These five thousand Zombies included hundreds that had recently been infected by the Corpseification virus. Of course, this long convoy consisted of far more people; the vast majority had been devoured by the Zombies, who needed to replenish their energy. 0

Under the streetlights, the fleeing convoy was now a chaotic mess, with vehicles overturned and many already ablaze. The acrid smell of burning metal mingled with the strong scent of blood and decay that permeated the air. 0

"Two thousand one hundred sixty-five!" Beatrice exclaimed after slaying the last Zombie in his vicinity, returning to his normal size. He was slightly out of breath; even he could not withstand such intense combat without feeling its toll. 0

Lin Yi smiled slightly and said, "I won! I took down two thousand three hundred fifty!" His strength had unexpectedly surged during the battle, and his mood was even higher than if he had won a competition. 0

"I can't believe I lost to you! But when it comes to a direct confrontation, I’m seventy percent confident I could beat you!" Beatrice boasted, confident in his own abilities. He relied solely on his physical strength to defeat the Zombies, while Lin Yi used a blade; thus, he felt Lin Yi hadn't truly bested him. 0

Lin Yi didn't mind much; he had seen that Beatrice's speed remained undiminished even after growing larger, and his strength had increased as well. With such power, Lin Yi felt uncertain about defeating him. 0

"Captain, I’m embarrassed to say I only took down a little over a hundred Zombies!" Jian stepped forward to Lin Yi's side, her chest still slightly heaving from exertion, stirring something warm within Lin Yi. 0

Lin Yi inwardly scolded himself for feeling this way after being lonely for so long. However, he quickly reassured Jian, "You've done very well! Remember when we were trapped by a thousand Zombies with just a few dozen of us? We were desperate then. Now just the few of us can slay five thousand Zombies; that's quite remarkable." 0

"Boss, more Zombies are approaching!" Old Black whispered as he approached Beatrice. Most of his body was hidden in the shadows; Lin Yi could barely make out his features. Such a person was indeed an expert at stealth and assassination. 0

Lin Yi focused his mental energy outward and was startled by what he sensed first—dozens of Giant Zombies. These Giants surrounded several larger black Zombies that resembled shield-bearing foes he had encountered before the city fell. As for how many ordinary Zombies were behind them, Lin Yi estimated there were no less than one hundred thousand. These were not ordinary Zombies; if they were surrounded by this horde, they would be exhausted and perish. 0

"The Zombies we just killed must have been just the vanguard of the Zombie Army behind them. What we face next could be an even greater Trouble!" Lin Yi analyzed before continuing. Their team lacked heavy weaponry; if they wanted to break through the encirclement, they would likely be left with very few survivors. 0

"Let's wait until they finish retreating before we move!" Beatrice frowned. He knew Old Black's capabilities; his long-range reconnaissance skills were even more sensitive than high-tech surveillance equipment. Although thousands of powerful Mercenaries stood behind Beatrice, who could easily escape from the vast Zombie Army? 0

"Beatrice, let's buy some time for our retreat!" Lin Yi felt a deep unease in his heart. Though the mountain stood alone nearby, if the Zombies attacked recklessly, they would be in danger. 0

"Alright, every Zombie we kill counts!" Beatrice replied with determination; clearly, he hadn’t reached his limit yet. 0

The recent breach of the Milan Defense Zone began with the collapse of Government Forces. Now, their united team was perhaps the only remaining force capable of resisting the Zombies in the entire Milan region. 0

Suddenly, Lin Yi sensed a chill approaching from behind him. Just as he prepared to react instinctively, he realized it was Renesmee who had arrived with Nicolas closely following her. 0

"Everyone, I sincerely apologize for earlier," Renesmee said as she bowed slightly. In doing so, her figure became fully visible to all present. 0

Renesmee's voice was no longer cold and distant; it now carried a lightness, melodious and captivating. Lin Yi waved his hand dismissively, saying, "It's fine, Sister Renesmee. We just appeared too suddenly." 0

"If it weren't for Nico and me, I wouldn't have realized how serious the situation has become. Although we are different from you humans, it hasn't escalated to this extent. So I, Renesmee, sincerely ask for everyone's forgiveness." She glanced at Nicolas beside her, her expression serious. 0

Lin Yi stole another glance at Renesmee but dared not linger, especially with a powerful psychic presence nearby; he didn't want to draw attention to himself. 0

"Sister Renesmee isn't here just to apologize, right?" Lin Yi quickly changed the subject as the Zombies were already two hundred meters away. 0

"Of course not! I'm here to help everyone eliminate these Zombies!" Renesmee declared confidently, her chest puffed out, drawing attention to her striking figure. Beatrice and Old Black exchanged uneasy glances, perhaps disturbed by the growls of the approaching Zombies. 0

Feeling the looming threat nearby, Lin Yi set aside his admiration for her beauty and tightened his grip on his Silver Soul. "Nicolas, take care of Sister Renesmee!" 0

"Captain Lin, you don't need to be so polite; I'm here to assist you. Let me take the lead!" Without waiting for a response, Renesmee darted past Lin Yi, a unique fragrance wafting through the air—a blend of youthful innocence and something distinctly different. 0

As a vampire, Renesmee might not be as fast as Lin Yi at full throttle, but her speed was still impressive. Before Lin Yi could react, she had already dashed fifty meters ahead. 0

"Roar!" The shadowy Zombie Army had closed in on them. Seeing their comrades defeated by just a few people sent them into a frenzy of howls. 0

"Wind rise!" Renesmee suddenly spread her arms and threw her head back in a fierce cry. In an instant, the previously clear night sky darkened with clouds, and an invisible pressure surged through the air. Lin Yi and the others felt a suffocating lack of oxygen. 0

"Ice Sister!" Nicolas shouted urgently, but with the howling wind around them, Renesmee couldn't hear him. 0

"What's wrong? Lin Yi's consciousness feels off; if Renesmee is using such power now, winning won't be easy," he thought anxiously. 0

"Ice Sister is going all out! She's preparing to summon a massive force of ice and snow, but it will take a toll on her. This is the first time she's done something like this in years!" Nicolas's face was filled with panic. Yet he knew better than to try to stop Renesmee; once she made up her mind about something, no one could change it. 0

Lin Yi looked at Renesmee with a strange expression. He couldn't fathom how such immense power resided within her delicate frame. 0

"Everyone, let's go help Sister Renesmee!" Lin Yi urged as he noticed several Giant Zombies charging toward her—clearly aware of the threat she posed. 0

In a flash, several figures rushed to Renesmee's side. Though the wind she summoned was powerful, it was primarily effective against ordinary humans. 0

Lin Yi took the lead and charged directly at one of the approaching Giant Zombies. The first few Zombies were merely ordinary Giants; facing Lin Yi's sudden assault, they stood no chance against him. 0

With a sharp metallic clash, Lin Yi sliced through the iron rod in his opponent's hand. In the next moment, there was a tearing sound as the Giant Zombie was cleaved in two by Lin Yi's strike. The foul, dark blood gushed out along with the already decayed entrails, splattering onto the ground. 0

"Gather!" At that moment, Renesmee called out again in a low voice. Lin Yi suddenly felt as if the air in front of him had been sucked dry. The next instant, a bone-chilling cold enveloped him. 0

"Get behind me!" Renesmee shouted with wide eyes, her once pale face now flushed with color. 0

Lin Yi responded quickly, darting back to take his position behind Renesmee. They had just taken down several Giant Zombies that had attempted to attack her. 0

"Freeze!" Renesmee shouted once more, her arms raised as if holding an immense weight. Veins bulged on her fair forehead, and her previously delicate features twisted into a more ferocious expression. 0

As soon as Renesmee's words fell, a flurry of sparkling white snowflakes filled the air. It felt as though they had been transported to the far north, where the howling winds surrounded them. Even Jian, who was usually robust, rubbed his cheeks in disbelief at the sudden chill. 0

Suddenly, the entire space tightened as the white snowflakes seemed to respond to some command, swirling toward the approaching Zombies with a rush. 0

The atmosphere turned chaotic; all they could hear was the roaring wind around them and the occasional brush of white ice crystals passing by. 0

In that moment, the earth fell silent while the world went mad! 0
