"No, this black worm must have fed on the flesh infected with corpse poison!" Lin Yi's expression changed instantly as he looked at Aik and shouted, "Quick, inject Jimmy with the Serum! This worm is infected with corpse poison too!" 0

At that moment, Jimmy suddenly tried to stand up, his face twisted in agony, and even his eyes began to bleed—this was a clear sign of Corpseification. 0

"Bang!" Just as the situation became critical, Aik swiftly injected the Serum into Jimmy's arm. 0

In the few seconds of shock that followed, Jimmy's emotions gradually stabilized, but then he suddenly went pale and fainted. 0

With a sigh of relief, everyone felt a weight lift off their shoulders. Lin Yi immediately instructed Aik to take out a box and store the worm's corpse, then used a strong disinfectant to clean the area where Flower Cannon had just chopped the black worm. 0

"Not good! There’s a whole swarm of worms ahead!" Wu Hao's driver suddenly screamed. 0

Lin Yi felt his heart race; the very thing he feared most had come to pass. If these worms were all infected with Corpseification, it would be a tremendous Trouble. 0

"Seal the Cabin quickly!" Seeing the Corpse Worms approaching, Lin Yi shouted for the driver to secure the cockpit immediately. 0

Wu Hao's chosen driver was no coward; after a brief moment of panic, he sprang into action. All the windows closed automatically, and the cabin's ecological circulation system activated. The helicopter Wu Hao had chosen was a high-performance defensive model designed to prevent biological contamination. 0

The swarm of worms quickly drew closer, appearing terrifyingly dense. Lin Yi and his group felt their scalps tingle in fear; even if they wanted to fight back, it would be futile. Fortunately, there weren't too many worms, and they couldn't match the helicopter's speed. They could only approach because they were coming head-on. 0

The powerful rotor wash from the helicopter kept the Corpse Worms at bay; they could only retreat further away from the aircraft. Many breathed a sigh of relief, grateful to have escaped disaster. However, Lin Yi's expression grew increasingly grim. He knew that if these worms truly possessed the ability to spread corpse poison, it would spell doom for humanity. These worms were too elusive; they could hide anywhere, and current weapons struggled to inflict significant damage on them. 0

"If these worms enter densely populated areas, are we finished?" Flower Cannon bluntly voiced a concern that everyone had thought but dared not say. 0

Upon hearing Flower Cannon's analysis, those who hadn't considered this possibility widened their eyes in disbelief. But this was a reality—a problem no one could escape. 0

"I think even if these bugs can appear, there won't be too many of them. The Zombie Virus is highly corrosive. Generally, after infection, people experience body decay and atrophy. This indicates that the Zombie Virus requires sufficient nutritional support to survive. Ordinary bugs, once infected with this virus, would surely lose all vitality and be unable to survive," Li Qiweng said slowly, pursing her lips. 0

Upon hearing Li Qiweng's analysis, everyone felt it made a lot of sense and nodded in agreement. The terror they had just experienced was now replaced by expressions of Survival After the Catastrophe. 0

"I will report this situation to headquarters when we return; after all, it's better to be safe than sorry," Paul, who had been sitting quietly at the edge, spoke softly, his tone filled with endless fatigue. He had come with great confidence, believing he could achieve something significant, but in the end, they had nearly faced total annihilation. If it weren't for Lin Yi and the others rescuing him, he would have faced certain death as well. Although the mission was completed upon their return, the cost was the destruction of the entire elite team; it was hard to discern whether this was a success or a failure. 0

The helicopter flew on in silence. However, since they were already close to their destination, they arrived at the edge of the wall after three minutes. 0

"Oh no, the City Defense Force won't let us in!" The pilot exclaimed. Lin Yi looked down in response to the voice and saw someone below frantically waving a red flag, seemingly trying to convey some message. 0

"Just push through! We fought tooth and nail for them; are they really not going to let us in?" Witerson II had planned to rest well once they entered the city but was now faced with this frustrating situation. 0

"No way! If we dare to charge in directly, they'll shoot us down!" The pilot hesitated to proceed further as the helicopter began to circle near the city wall. 0

"Lao Wu, what's going on? You guys can come out; why can't we go back?" Lin Yi's voice turned cold as he worried that they might have been set up again. 0

Wu Hao's face flushed slightly with embarrassment as he replied, "It's because we are on a private helicopter. The flight control is very strict right now; it's impossible to fly out privately. So we were just moving around. Everything was arranged beforehand, but the City Defense Force is directly managed by the president now, so we couldn't take any action. In the end, I had no choice but to use some means to get them to let us through. It seems they've changed personnel now; I didn't expect we'd run into this." 0

After hearing Wu Hao's explanation, Lin Yi let out a sigh of relief; as long as they weren't trying to set him up again. He then instructed the pilot to land the helicopter at the main gate and think of a way from there. 0

"I've already contacted General Khaki, but they're currently in an important meeting and I don't know when they'll be able to come!" After landing, Paul looked at everyone and said. 0

Lin Yi nodded. He believed that what he had in hand was valuable enough that they wouldn't do anything excessive. What frustrated him was that they weren't allowed entry at all; not even a legal reason was given. Their familiar contacts couldn't help them either; one of them was stuck outside with them. 0

Paul seemed to guess Lin Yi's thoughts. He walked to the ten-meter-high wall and shouted, "I am Paul, Major of the Third Special Operations Unit. We just returned from a mission, so please let us in." 0

"Sorry, I couldn't find your registration records, so we need to verify the situation and check if you are bringing any viruses in," came a quick response from the wall. 0

"When will you let us in?" Paul asked next. Although the weather wasn't too cold, it was still frustrating for a large group of people to be standing outside like this. 0

However, after Paul shouted, there was no further response from above. 0

Lin Yi's unnamed anger grew stronger, but he had to bow his head under the eaves. 0

"Can you contact anyone else to clarify the situation?" Lin Yi had no choice but to turn to Paul for help. 0

Paul shrugged helplessly and said, "This is a secret mission, and the communication device I brought can only connect me with those related to this secret." 0

After hearing this, Lin Yi's frown deepened. He began to doubt whether he had trusted General Khaki too much. Now that the mission was successful, they couldn't even get into the city, and there was no way to resolve it. 0

Twenty minutes later, there was still no movement from above. Lin Yi felt his anger rising; he could no longer suppress his violent emotions. 0

"Huh~" The effects of the medication were still active, so he felt like a superhuman. When he could no longer contain his agitation, he suddenly sped toward the base of the wall. Then, without any visible effort, he swiftly climbed up the wall like a phantom, seemingly unaffected by gravity. 0

Everything happened in the blink of an eye. Before anyone could gasp in surprise, Lin Yi had already reached the top of the wall. 0

The captain responsible for guarding this section of the wall was still joking with his subordinates about inappropriate topics, seemingly forgetting that there were more than a dozen people waiting below to enter the city. 0

"Hahaha, I managed to handle both of them in just one night, and now they can't even get out of bed. Let me take you to see..." The captain was still laughing wildly when he noticed that the two soldiers standing across from him were holding their guns, their faces filled with terror as they looked behind him. 0

The captain immediately turned around, his gun drawn in an instant. After all, to hold the position of captain, he had to possess some skills. 0

"How dare you trespass into a military restricted area? I have the right to shoot you!" The captain decided to intimidate first, hoping to subdue the intruder without a fight. That way, he could have more leverage when courting those gentle ladies in the future. 0

However, the captain soon became annoyed. Although the intruder had two knives on their back and was dressed in a Combat Suit, they bore no other firearms. Yet, facing the illustrious captain's gunpoint, there was not a trace of fear on their face. 0

The other members of the squad also noticed the stranger and saw their captain glaring angrily at the unknown figure. The captain was infuriated by the stranger's indifference; he felt humiliated in front of his subordinates and wanted to teach this ungrateful person a lesson. 0

"Bang!" The captain fired a shot, but he knew it wouldn't hit. He wasn't foolish enough to kill someone without cause; scaring them would suffice. 0

Just as the captain was lost in his delusions, he suddenly felt a tight grip on his wrist. Then came a sharp "crack," and excruciating pain shot through his mind—his wrist had been broken! 0

The captain snapped back to reality, staring at the stranger who had appeared before him as if from thin air. He had imagined this unknown person would be cowering on the ground in fear, yet here they stood right in front of him, having just twisted his wrist. 0

"Let go of our captain, or you'll only have death awaiting you!" The captain quickly heard the voice of one of his most valued subordinates and felt relieved; he knew he wasn't fighting alone. 0

"Drop your guns, or I won't hesitate to break each of your wrists!" The voice was cold as ice, carrying a powerful resonance that reached every ear present. 0
