Life is a long battle, and death is the ultimate conclusion that no one can escape. Lin Yi did not think that far ahead; he just wanted to live a peaceful life, free from the constant anxiety and endless running around. 0

"How about it, everyone? If we want to leave here, we need to go hunt some Zombies, but I can't say how dangerous that might be," Lin Yi said, throwing the question to the group. He couldn't make such a big decision alone. 0

"Why do we have to leave?" Flower Cannon looked at Lin Yi and asked. 0

Lin Yi was taken aback for a moment before realizing. His desire to return to Lion City did not mean everyone else felt the same way; his thoughts were ultimately one-sided. 0

"Mr. Lin means we should find a safer place to stay since the military strength here isn't very strong," Pachy, who came from a government armed organization, stated with authority regarding the strength of the Armed Forces in their current location. 0

"Actually, I still want to return to Lion City. I'm not a qualified Captain," Lin Yi suddenly felt selfish, having never considered his teammates' feelings. 0

"Boss, don't think like that. We all support you; just make the decision!" Douglas said sincerely, looking at Lin Yi. After all, Lin Yi had once saved his life. 0

"Yeah, our Captain always charges to the front and has killed so many Zombies; there aren't many who would doubt him!" Jimmy, who was impulsive, directly expressed his thoughts. 0

Witerson II nodded seriously in agreement; he had always supported Lin Yi and considered himself one of Lin Yi's most loyal followers. 0

"Yes, Captain doesn't need to think too much. It doesn't matter where we go; it's all the same for us," Flower Cannon added. He couldn't help but like a Captain who didn't put on airs. 0

Seeing everyone looking at him with smiles, Lin Yi felt warmth in his heart. He had always thought his abilities were somewhat hollow, leaving him anxious about his position. Now that he had everyone's support, he felt more at ease. Perhaps whether or not he returned to Lion City really wasn't that important after all. 0

"Since that's the case, let's go back and discuss what we should do next!" Lin Yi looked around; there were still quite a few armed soldiers guarding the training camp, and it wasn't ideal for them to stay there indefinitely. 0

Everyone nodded in agreement and drove back together. The journey was relatively calm, though they couldn't help but sigh when passing by organized Armed Division troops. 0

"We can't stay here forever; we still need to go out and hunt some Zombies to earn some Contribution Points. Otherwise, our future actions will be severely restricted," Wu Hao stated before anyone could relax, expressing his opinion clearly. 0

In the hall, a group of people either sat, stood, or leaned against the walls. No one immediately responded to Wu Hao's suggestion. Everyone craved stability; no one wanted to exert themselves unnecessarily. 0

"Then let's all take a good rest. We still have time, and we can make our decision in a few days," Lin Yi said. The continuous battles had not only exhausted them physically but had also drained their spirits. Lin Yi had managed to rest well these past few days, but the other team members were not as fortunate. 0

Upon hearing Lin Yi's words, many people cheered. Jimmy and Tony even embraced each other, expressing their excitement at this moment. It felt like students who had endured a semester of classes finally looking forward to a long-awaited break. 0

With no constraints, everyone naturally went about their own business—some returned to their rooms while others headed out. 0

"Wen, I'm going out with Pachy for a bit," Lin Yi called out to Pachy and then turned to Li Qiweng, who was standing beside her. 0

"What? Sneaking out behind my back? Are you planning to chase after girls?" Li Qiweng raised an eyebrow and pinched Lin Yi's arm. 0

Lin Yi winced in pain repeatedly until Li Qiweng finally let go, though she still held onto his arm. 0

Pachy watched from the side, trying to suppress a laugh. "What can I do for you, Mr. Lin?" 0

"Pachy, you're Wen's leader, so there's no need to be overly polite with me. Just call me Lin Yi," Lin Yi said, disliking excessive formality directed at himself; he wasn't sure if that made him seem ungrateful. 0

"Well, that might be inappropriate," Pachy replied awkwardly. 0

"Boss, it's fine. That's just how he is. If you're polite to him, he'll only be more polite back," Li Qiweng said lightly as she leaned on Lin Yi's shoulder. 0

"Alright then. I feel uncomfortable being overly formal with you too. What do you need now?" Pachy was not one to put on airs; he was simply constrained by certain realities. 0

"I think after we rest for a few days, we should go hunt some Zombies. For now, let's get everything prepared to avoid any surprises later," Lin Yi stated. As the Captain, he naturally had to think ahead; he couldn't afford to rest while everyone else was taking a break. 0

Pachy nodded, deciding to head out now to handle the related matters. At that moment, Li Qiweng insisted on going with Lin Yi. Originally, Lin Yi had planned to let her rest for a while since she had been taking care of him without proper breaks. 0

The three of them drove to a location based on the address provided by Kachi. It was an old European-style building, its walls weathered and covered in unknown creeping vines. Various vehicles, mostly old and worn, were parked outside. Burly men with fierce expressions occasionally entered the building, but when they emerged, some looked cheerful while others appeared dejected. 0

"Is this the mission office?" Lin Yi glanced at a simple wooden sign hanging at the entrance, where the words were handwritten in a crooked manner, resembling a child's scrawl. 0

"Could we be mistaken? This place doesn't look like a government office at all!" Lin Yi widened his eyes at the dilapidated structure, struggling to believe what he was seeing. 0

"Let's go in and find out!" Li Qiweng said without hesitation, pulling Lin Yi inside. 0

As Lin Yi stepped into the building, he immediately felt a chill run down his spine. Outside, the sun shone warmly, but inside felt like stepping into an ancient graveyard—cold and eerie. 0

Upon entering, Lin Yi's gaze fell upon a tall reception desk where a burly man was arguing with the staff member. 0

"I told you, you can only get three hundred Contribution Points; there's nothing I can do about it!" The staff member tossed a black card to the burly man, clearly uninterested in continuing the conversation. 0

The burly man seemed furious but restrained himself, almost pleading, "But we lost two brothers this time; at least give us some compensation!" 0

"I can't make that decision. If your people died, it's because of poor skills. Other hunters don't come to us asking for more Contribution Points just because someone died!" The staff member had noticed Lin Yi and the others arriving and moderated his tone towards the burly man. 0

The burly man shook his head helplessly, took the black card, and left, nearly bumping into Lin Yi. Initially annoyed by his rudeness, Lin Yi swallowed his words upon seeing the man's despondent expression. 0

"Hello, we were sent by General Khaki. We plan to go out hunting Zombies after five," Pachy said calmly. However, upon hearing General Khaki's name, the staff member immediately shifted his attention from Li Qiweng to Pachy. 0

"Hello! Welcome!" The previously indifferent staff member suddenly adopted a respectful demeanor and bowed to Lin Yi and the others. 0

"We're here to find Mr. Wu Di and discuss our mission for the fifth phase!" Pachy continued, not wanting to bully anyone, but the staff member's behavior was simply too exaggerated. 0

"Alright, I'll call the Director over right away!" The staff member immediately used the internal communicator to notify Wu Di. 0

In just a few seconds, a short and stout man burst through a door from the work area. At first glance, no one would expect someone of his build to be so agile. 0

"This must be Mr. Lin Yi. The General instructed me to take good care of you all; let's go inside and talk!" The Director, Wu Di, rushed towards Lin Yi, extending his round palm for a handshake. Just as he attempted to shake hands with Li Qiweng, Lin Yi pulled him aside and said, "Let's get down to business!" 0

Wu Di's office was not as dim and cold as the outside; although it wasn't lavishly decorated, it was quite modern, with various smart devices visible everywhere. As soon as Lin Yi and the others took their seats, a mechanical arm next to the coffee table prepared drinks tailored for each of them. The room's temperature was comfortable, and paired with some delicious tea, Lin Yi felt as if he were on vacation. 0

"General Khaki has instructed me that you are our esteemed guests. Please feel free to make any requests; we will do our best to accommodate you," Wu Di said respectfully, indicating that Khaki had given him prior notice. 0

"I'd like to ask first, what exactly is a corpse hunter?" Lin Yi had heard this new term outside and was filled with questions. 0

"Ahem, a corpse hunter is someone who makes a profession out of hunting zombies. They use the clues we provide to hunt zombies in exchange for Contribution Points," Wu Di explained simply, but Lin Yi understood perfectly. 0

"So does that mean we'll also be considered corpse hunters in the future?" Lin Yi couldn't help but self-deprecate at the thought of his future endeavors. After all, those who walk on dark paths often encounter ghosts. He wondered if he might end up being killed by zombies while hunting them. 0

"Well, in a broad sense, everyone participating in this extermination of zombies is considered a corpse hunter. It's just that everyone has different roles; for instance, I am responsible for providing support from behind the scenes, doing my part for everyone's safety," Wu Di said, his round face squinting into a narrow line as he spoke. 0
