Lin Yi glanced at the still-sleeping Li Qiweng in the car, slowly exhaling the pent-up anxiety in his chest. He gently squeezed the item in his pocket that gave him a sense of confidence. 0

"Even though we are in a dire situation, we can't give up on ourselves," Lin Yi knew that this statement was no different from nonsense, but he still wanted to comfort everyone. 0

"Let's go inside and take a look; maybe we can find some clues. All this time, it feels like we've been led by the nose. We need to take some initiative," Bai said. As a professional Mercenary, if he didn't have a mind of his own, he would have died countless times already. 0

"Brother Bai, let's stick to places with more people," Jiao Jiao said, her fear evident as a woman. Hearing Bai's suggestion to go inside made her legs tremble. 0

"Come on, it's very likely we'll encounter a wealthy, handsome, gentle, and caring man whose parents have passed away at the airport," Flower Cannon said with a glance at Jiao Jiao, already opening the car door and preparing to drive in. 0

"Are you trying to get us killed?" Jiao Jiao's attitude took a complete turn upon facing Flower Cannon. 0

"Get in the car, everyone. Some things must be faced," Gal said before climbing onto the roof of the vehicle, his hefty body causing the SUV to sway slightly. 0

Although everyone felt scared inside, without understanding the problem, where else could they go? 0

The car smoothly drove inside without any security checks or bustling crowds. In the vast space, only they were moving forward in solitude. What awaited them in the future and where they should head were not things they could consider; all they could do was figure out what was happening right now! 0

The vehicle soon entered a large hall where the tempered glass doors had already been shattered. 0

Dim light filtered into the hall, revealing chaos everywhere. The floor that should have been clean and tidy was stained with blood. Trails of blood extended in all directions like devilish tentacles pulling one toward the depths of hell. 0

"What happened here? It looks like there was a fierce battle." 0

Gal scanned the area; tables and chairs were strewn about haphazardly, broken screens lay scattered on the ground alongside various pieces of paper and splattered blood. Everywhere he looked was severely damaged. 0

"Could this place also be overrun by zombies?" Lin Yi's mind was filled with thoughts of zombies; to him, they were the source of this disaster. 0

"No way, the airport security is very strict. If there were zombies, they would be dealt with as soon as anyone got close. After all, as an international airport, inadequate security could easily lead to diplomatic disputes." 0

"This Mr. Bai should know that the ship we took is transporting zombies," Lin Yi suddenly thought of a possibility, feeling a chill in his heart. To transport so many zombies to another country, what kind of power would that require? 0

"Are you saying someone brought zombies to the airport?" 0

As a police officer, Gal was still sharp-minded. However, he was unwilling to believe that someone had brought zombies into their country, and even less willing to accept that his fellow citizens were involved in such matters. 0

"I didn't say that," Lin Yi shrugged; he too was reluctant to admit this possibility. 0

If this was a conspiracy, who would be so heartless as to do such a thing? Sacrificing so many lives—what could they possibly gain from it? Everything has its cost, and Lin Yi truly couldn't understand who would treat life so lightly for their own benefit. 0

"Let's go check out the tarmac!" Flower Cannon shouted loudly and then drove the vehicle out. 0

For these people, it didn't matter where they went now; what was important was to get to the bottom of things. Flower Cannon drove along the terminal, searching until they quickly found an entrance that allowed them to see the massive object parked inside. However, this entrance was clearly not normal; it appeared to be a makeshift exit forced open by something. 0

"It seems something exciting happened inside," Bai's expression was filled with battle intent, looking eager to try something. 0

The SUV bumped along the tarmac, but strangely enough, they still saw nothing. It was as if there were no other living beings in this world besides them. 0

The vehicle gradually came to a stop, and everyone felt an inexplicable sense of urgency. The surrounding light wasn't very good; even with the headlights on, they could only vaguely make out the situation on the tarmac. Many trailers had been overturned, and even one airplane's fuselage had a huge gash in it. The gash was dark and ominous, resembling a monster waiting to devour anyone who approached. 0

"Shall we go in and take a look?" Flower Cannon poked his head out to ask the person sitting above. 0

The three people on the roof glanced around and collectively nodded. To uncover the truth, some risk was unavoidable. 0

The off-road vehicle drove calmly toward the damaged plane, covering the short distance of just a few dozen meters in no time. The surroundings remained eerily quiet, so quiet that it felt unreal. 0

Except for Li Qiweng, who was still in a deep sleep, everyone else got out of the car. No one asked about Li Qiweng's slumber; they all seemed to have an unspoken understanding. 0

"The women should stay outside to keep watch while we go in," White suggested, always cautious. Leaving the women outside wasn't out of a desire to protect them; after all, this place exuded an ominous vibe, and safety was hardly guaranteed. Out of habit as a Mercenary, he simply feared that if they all went in together, they could easily be ambushed. 0

No one objected, and the men followed Gal up the boarding ladder. The police rifles were equipped with powerful flashlights, so there was no worry about visibility ahead. 0

"Why does this Cabin feel so strange?" Lin Yi remarked as he stepped inside, feeling particularly uneasy. 0

"As a passenger plane, it's odd that there isn't a single seat in this entire Cabin," White thought to himself, feeling quite speechless. 0

"I'm sorry; I've actually never been on a plane before," Lin Yi said, his face turning red. Fortunately, the poor lighting meant no one could see his embarrassment. 0

Gal remained silent, simply moving forward quietly. Lin Yi and White exchanged glances before following Gal. 0

"Did you hear any sounds?" Gal's dry voice emerged from his throat, somewhat grating. 0

Everyone held their breath and listened intently. Soon enough, they heard a sound—familiar yet elusive, as if they had heard it somewhere before. 0

"Why does it sound like someone is eating watermelon?" Lin Yi suddenly blurted out. 0

"How could that 'smack smack smack' sound possibly be someone eating watermelon? Who would be eating watermelon at a time like this?" Bai whispered sharply. 0

"Well, maybe it's because I'm hungry," Lin Yi replied helplessly. After drinking so much seawater and then throwing it up, he was now both thirsty and hungry. 0

"The sound is coming from the cockpit. Let's go check it out," Gal said, losing interest in the conversation as he stepped toward the cockpit door. 0

"The door isn't fully closed," Gal took a step back, glanced at Bai, and nodded. 0

At that moment, Lin Yi stood in the middle, feeling a bit dazed and unsure of what to do next. 0

"You open the door, and we'll cover you!" Gal and Bai positioned themselves on either side, their guns aimed at the doorway. 0

The cabin was pitch black, with only a few beams of light from the three of them illuminating the oppressive environment. Lin Yi took a deep breath and reached for the handle on the door, feeling his hand tremble slightly. 0

With a soft creak, the door slowly opened. 0

The beams of their flashlights flooded into the room, and for a moment, Lin Yi felt a sense of relief as he saw someone grinning at him from inside. The person's white teeth stood out starkly, but they were smeared with red juice. Had they just been drinking red wine? 0

"Bang bang bang!" A series of gunshots startled Lin Yi. In that instant, he realized it was actually a zombie inside. The decayed face, already showing bone, had those glaring white teeth. What was even more terrifying was that this zombie was holding onto a person; he could vaguely make out that the person was dressed in a white suit. However, at this moment, their body was drenched in blood, and the exposed parts had been gnawed clean by the zombie. 0

Lin Yi quickly retreated; the zombie was so close that it could grab him with just an outstretched hand. At that point, unless God intervened, there would only be one way out: death. 0

Bai and Gal shot while retreating, aware that getting too close to the Bloodthirsty monster was extremely dangerous. 0

“Bang! Bang! Bang!” The bullets occasionally struck the metal wall, producing a deafening sound. Perhaps the Zombie was also momentarily stunned, giving Lin Yi a chance to quickly back away. 0

Both of their shooting skills were still lacking; after a burst of fire, the Zombie that had been feasting just moments ago was suddenly decapitated. Lin Yi hadn’t retreated very far when the Zombie was completely finished. The head of the person it had been holding had already been devoured, so there was no Corpseification. 0

“We need to get out of here immediately; I have a bad feeling!” Bai tightened his grip on his weapon, ready to withdraw. 0

“On our way here, we’ve only seen one Zombie; I think this place is actually the safest right now,” Gal said, feeling more relaxed now that the Zombie was dead. 0

“You might have a point, but I trust my instincts,” Bai replied confidently. As a professional Mercenary, he had his own way of sensing danger. 0

“The question is, where can we retreat to? The plane is the fastest way to leave. If we go outside, we’re in unfamiliar territory and won’t know where to go,” Lin Yi said, calming himself and no longer looking at the nightmarish Zombie. 0

“Mombasa has become a ghost town now,” Gal said, his expression darkening at Lin Yi’s words. This sudden disaster had turned him into a solitary figure with no one to rely on. 0

“Ah~” Just as the three were lost in their thoughts, a piercing scream suddenly echoed from outside. 0

Lin Yi and the others quickly ran toward the sound. With a glimmer of light, Lin Yi saw a scene that plunged him into despair. In that moment, it felt as if his heart had sunk into the depths of the sea; struggling was futile… 0
