"Are you home, Wen?" Lin Yi had access to Li Qiweng's house, and the security door opened automatically as he stepped inside.
"Yeah." Li Qiweng was sitting on the sofa, watching a drama, occasionally covering her mouth to laugh, looking quite happy.
Lin Yi had just walked for two hours and was still recovering from the shock he had experienced earlier. As soon as he entered, he poured himself a glass of water.
"I have to tell you, I just ran into a few people who were completely unbelievable. They were like lightning! In the blink of an eye, they appeared right in front of me. It was terrifying!" Lin Yi chattered while pouring the water, feeling comfortable enough with Li Qiweng after spending so much time together to speak freely.
"Is that so?" Suddenly, Lin Yi felt a soft voice beside him and caught a whiff of a familiar light fragrance.
"Are you all still human?" Lin Yi felt his mind was racing. Thankfully, he still held onto the cup in his hand. Had humanity evolved to run that fast? Was he so dull that he hadn’t noticed his own special abilities until now?
"Do you really think everything you see is human?" Li Qiweng tilted her head slightly, her big eyes staring at Lin Yi with a pure expression, completely ignoring the astonishment on his face.
While Lin Yi was still in shock, Li Qiweng made another lightning-fast move and sat down on the sofa to continue watching her drama.
"Aren't you going to explain?" Lin Yi felt that the Li Qiweng in front of him seemed so unfamiliar. He had always thought he knew her well, but now he realized how strange she felt to him.
"You know where I work." Li Qiweng's voice sounded a bit drowsy when she said this, but Lin Yi only wanted to know if this Li Qiweng was still the one he knew.
"Yes, the Special Operations Department. But I only know that name; you won’t tell me anything else."
"You also work in a national-level department and know many things. Even with the closest people, some things are inconvenient to share." "Do I not look like her?" came the hoarse voice he had just heard. Lin Yi finally acknowledged that the person before him was indeed the woman in black.
"You know my skills. Tonight was just a joke; after all, you were so late coming back without any reason," Li Qiweng said as he stood up and headed toward the bedroom.
"But how could you move so quickly? It doesn't match my understanding!" Lin Yi felt frustrated. Why couldn't everyone just be honest like ordinary people? Although he himself had hidden quite a bit from Li Qiweng, people are inherently selfish and want to know more about each other.
"Do you want to have that kind of speed?" Li Qiweng rubbed his temples, trying to feel more alert.
Without thinking, Lin Yi nodded vigorously. He felt as if he was about to become a hero and then live happily ever after with the woman he loved.
"What are you daydreaming about? Come sit down and chat," Li Qiweng turned back around, and Lin Yi naturally took a seat on the sofa.
"Our biological laboratory successfully developed a Gene Drug five years ago that can maximize human potential, making both speed and strength much greater than usual," Li Qiweng began as soon as he sat down.
"Why didn't I know about this? With such an amazing Gene Drug, wouldn't humanity be able to break out of the galaxy?" Lin Yi felt much better seeing how straightforward Li Qiweng was about sharing such secrets.
Li Qiweng looked at Lin Yi with an expression that suggested he thought Lin Yi was foolish. "Where were you back then, enjoying the moonlight with your beloved?"
"Don't say that! I’ve always been enjoying the moonlight with you," Lin Yi replied, touching his nose with a slightly embarrassed look.
"The Gene Drug isn't as miraculous as it sounds. It has specific requirements; only individuals with exceptional physical attributes can receive the injection. Moreover, it's not easy to produce this drug; there have been fewer than ten thousand doses made in the past five years. It won't be used lightly unless absolutely necessary, and its effects last at most two hours," Li Qiweng quickly explained, not continuing the topic with Lin Yi.
"Can I get it too?" Lin Yi wondered aloud. If Li Qiweng could have it, then perhaps he could become a superhero as well.
"Your physique isn't suitable; you still need some training," Li Qiweng replied, her head already leaning to one side.
"But I'm going out with you, right? That should count as training. If I improve my physique, I want to join you guys! It sounds so interesting. Helping the weak and maintaining world peace has always been my highest ideal!" Lin Yi rambled on until he noticed that no one was responding. He glanced at Li Qiweng and realized she had fallen asleep.
Lin Yi chuckled lightly and picked up Li Qiweng, carrying her toward the bedroom. She seemed tired after completing a mission today; he would ask her about everything tomorrow. As he contemplated this, he began to remove Li Qiweng's clothes. However, just as his hands were unbuttoning her jacket, Li Qiweng suddenly sprang up and kicked Lin Yi to the side, sending him sprawling against the door.
Lin Yi let out a muffled grunt but quickly got back up despite the pain. He needed to explain that he had no ill intentions.
Li Qiweng didn't give him that chance; after delivering that unpredictable kick, she fell back asleep. Lin Yi could only smile wryly at her before stepping out and closing the bedroom door behind him. The room's temperature was moderate, and given Li Qiweng's physical condition, she should be fine and wouldn't catch a cold.
The next morning, Lin Yi woke up to a refreshing piano melody. It was Saturday, and he could go out for a drive with Li Qiweng. After tidying up the house and preparing some bread and milk, he headed downstairs to find her.
Lin Yi's eyes widened as he approached the outer security door of Li Qiweng's house, which opened automatically after scanning his retina. Passing by the bathroom, he noticed the door was open; Li Qiweng was brushing her teeth inside. When she saw him enter, she mumbled indistinctly, "Morning."
"I've prepared a heartfelt breakfast; hurry up and eat!" Lin Yi placed the breakfast on the dining table and began to dance around.
"You dance terribly!" was Li Qiweng's first comment after emerging from the bathroom.
"I've always thought I danced quite sexily," Lin Yi retorted, dancing even more energetically.
"Pfft!" Li Qiweng had already sat down to eat but thankfully didn't spit out her food.
"Rare to see you up so early on your day off," Li Qiweng said, looking at Lin Yi with a hint of happiness in her eyes.
"This isn't your Gene Drug from yesterday, is it? You know I can handle myself like you do, so you don't need to be so obvious about it," Lin Yi replied.
"Oh, I remember now. You want to become the Flash and then flirt with girls," Li Qiweng said, taking a sip of milk with a delicate and graceful motion.
Lin Yi cursed Li Qiweng in his heart for being so perceptive, but he still forced a smile. "Of course I want to be the Flash, but as for flirting with girls, I'll pass. My mind is solely on you."
"But I remember you saying yesterday that your physique isn't up to par. The Potential Gene Drug isn't perfected yet; it's not suitable for everyone," Li Qiweng said, as if pondering deeply before outright rejecting Lin Yi's request.
Lin Yi felt a bit frantic. Who wouldn't want to be a hero? This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity was not something anyone would willingly give up. Even a fool would know what to do at this moment.
"Promise me, Wenwen. In my next life, I'll work like a horse for you." Crying, throwing a tantrum, and even threatening to hang himself were tactics that sometimes worked on someone like Li Qiweng, but only if she truly cared about him. Article One: Absolutely adhere to the confidentiality agreement; do not casually display your abilities in public. Otherwise, all personal earnings will be handed over to Ms. Li Qiweng until she is satisfied.
Article Two: During the learning period, you must unconditionally obey Ms. Li Qiweng's orders without resistance. Any act of resistance will incur a fine of one thousand yuan.
Article Three: Given that the learning takes place during Ms. Li Qiweng's personal time, according to the principle of earning through labor, each learning phase requires Student Lin Yi to pay a tuition fee of twenty thousand yuan per month. If paid annually, a discount applies, totaling two hundred twenty thousand yuan.
