"Oh no, this is terrible, the worst situation possible. This is why I hate doing business with those poor warlords. I thought this fellow might have some connections, but it turns out a dog can't change its nature." In a shabby room, Fia leaned back in a chair, complaining listlessly.
The entire room resembled a makeshift container, feeling extremely stuffy inside. Fia's clothes clung to her body, damp and unflattering.
"Fia, we're completely dragged down by that despicable fellow. If it weren't for him..." The strong and imposing One-Eyed Woman, Weimar, expressed her dissatisfaction with Yang Xiaoyou and his group.
"Perhaps there's some connection with them. However, since Maximi is such a warlord, even without this connection, our dealings would likely be fraught with difficulties. The Hive Security Company people are right next door; we should meet them. For now, we need to tackle the challenges we face together." Fia Haek Media brushed her silver hair behind her ear, her eyes glinting momentarily.
"No need for that; we're here." At that moment, the already shabby door was pushed open, and Yang Xiaoyou entered with Noah. From here, they could see two armed soldiers standing further out at the entrance.
Fia Haek Media was ultimately a princess of Hli, and neither side had brought any goods. On the surface, Maximi had granted them freedom; of course, freedom was relative and meant they needed to think carefully.
Although their attitude seemed decent—guards standing at a distance as if indifferent to their discussion—the armed guards also conveyed another aspect of their presence.
"Mr. Yi, you've really gotten me into trouble this time. You'd better compensate me once we get out of here—maybe bring your men to help me with some heavy lifting," Fia Haek Media said, looking at Yang Xiaoyou with a glint in her eye.
"You were the one who initiated contact with us; it's not our fault. Besides, Boss, if your goods weren't so lucrative, Maximi wouldn't have been so ruthless with us," Noah interjected bluntly.
As his harsh tone filled the room, the atmosphere instantly grew tense. Fia's companions faced off against Yang Xiaoyou and his group.
"Noah, right? I've heard about you from your captain before. It's a pity we never had the chance to spar; why not fulfill my wish now?" Weimar said with a sly smile, her remaining eye flashing with a hint of provocation.
"Oh? How can someone like you, blind as you are, be in this line of work? So you're from the Finnish Rapid Reaction Force. I remember our former captain had a blind member; it must be you. Your team was wiped out in Africa by just one person, wasn't it?" Noah replied with an expression of realization on his face. The former captain he mentioned was likely one of the unfortunate souls from Kapa City’s team who met their demise.
Hearing Noah's words, Yang Xiaoyou's heart flickered with a hint of strangeness. He truly didn't know whether Noah was being thoughtless or if he was just exceptionally good at stepping on others' toes. Regardless, after Noah's series of remarks that felt like salt being rubbed into wounds, the murderous intent emanating from the one-eyed fellow had grown strong enough for even an ordinary person to sense.
"Alright, let's stop here. We're here to discuss how to deal with the current situation, not to argue," Yang Xiaoyou said calmly, raising his hand to halt Noah's continued speech.
On the other side, Fia also signaled Weimar to calm down before turning to Yang Xiaoyou. "I wonder if Mr. Yi has any good strategies? With the personnel we currently have, if we had weapons, breaking through wouldn't be impossible. However, the risks are too great. Please trust in the professionalism of my subordinates; as long as we pay attention to ensure there are no eavesdroppers nearby."
"It seems Sister Fia is not willing to compromise at all," Yang Xiaoyou remarked with a smile as he looked at her peculiar eyes.
"Once a compromise happens for the first time, the second, third, and nth times won't be far behind. I'm a businessman; I won't engage in a losing deal," Fia said, a hint of wickedness flashing across her face.
"Oh, since that's the case, you'll have to take on the heavy lifting this time. I was originally prepared to compromise anyway; after all, my stock isn't plentiful," Yang Xiaoyou replied with a tone that suggested it was only natural.
However, upon hearing his words, Fia became furious, her cheeks puffed up in anger as she glared at Yang Xiaoyou with an expression that screamed villain.
The guards behind her also wore displeased expressions.
"What do you want then?" Fia originally intended to evoke some sympathy and emotional resonance but never expected to be dismissed like this.
"What I want depends on your attitude. If you still have faith in Maximi, then I won't do anything too offensive toward him," Yang Xiaoyou's tone was somewhat elusive at that moment.
Upon hearing this, Fia's expression shifted slightly before excitement and eagerness flashed across her face. "You are... Hey, I knew I wasn't wrong about you! Mr. Yi's ambitions are indeed vast. However, given my family's current resources, it would be difficult to get involved in such matters. After all, it involves the French Government. Even if we could participate, we must consider their feelings and the final gains and losses. This place is still a country rich in oil and gas resources; one misstep could lead us into an abyss from which there is no return."
Hearing Fia's words made Yang Xiaoyou reassess her once again. Initially, he thought she should possess a considerable spirit of adventure. However, upon reflection, he understood that even if she had ideas, it would be impossible for her to collaborate with someone like him who was not quite a partner yet.
However, if he didn't drag the other party down with him, his next move would require the cooperation of the rulers of Algeria. Whether it was the arms deal or training with Hive Security, both could provide significant assistance.
Maximi had a brief interaction and found that he was just average. He decided to use the information he had about Brit to solve the problem at hand, and establishing a tenuous cooperative relationship with the other party was also an option. Unfortunately, that piece of information was highly sensitive. If Maximi let something slip, he could find himself caught in a whirlpool of that magnitude, and he would likely have to abandon his current foundation and give up using his identity as Yi.
Given his current situation, even some large companies could easily crush him, let alone national-level powers.
Just as Yang Xiaoyou hesitated about whether to probe Fia further, the latter wore a sly smile and spoke up. "However, if you can bring your subordinates to join our company, although we are indeed not suited to intervene in such matters, we could have the relevant departments in France replace their chosen warlord. In return, they would receive our arms at below-market prices. That wouldn't be a problem; I can afford to take that loss for your benefit."
"Joining is out of the question. Let's leave it at that. I can inform you about a piece of news regarding the Dim Councilor. I believe this information will cost you little in terms of your operations in France and could even be highly beneficial in the long run. I know that the Dim Councilor is your partner in France."
"If you agree, we will be temporary partners; if not, I'll go out and compromise with Maximi." Upon hearing this, Yang Xiaoyou rolled his eyes and responded curtly.
"Tch." Seeing Yang Xiaoyou's firm attitude, Fia's expression flickered with annoyance. However, perhaps due to the attractiveness of the offer, he ultimately stood up and extended his right hand to Yang Xiaoyou.
A decision that would have a significant impact on Africa and even the world was made in this inconspicuous room by two young individuals still in their rapid growth phase.
