A vast cave constructed from enormous rocks was the first refuge Lin Yuan found on this island. It was unavoidable, as the island was immense and inhabited by numerous formidable Mutated Mechanical Beasts. Thus, returning to the mainland in a short time seemed impossible.
A creature resembling a Squirrel continued to monitor Lin Yuan from two kilometers away, instilling a sense of danger within him. He did not entertain the thought that it was following him out of affection or mere curiosity simply because he was the protagonist.
If he dared to think that way, it would be utterly foolish. Lin Yuan understood well that these Mutated Mechanical Beasts were extremely ruthless; their sole purpose for existence was to compete for resources.
So, that creature was definitely a threat; he just didn't know how yet.
Moreover, he faced another pressing issue: Energy Blocks. When he set off from the s-5 Sub-base, he had brought along five hundred Energy Blocks, equating to 000 standard units of energy. Coupled with his two Energy Engines, each storing 00 Standard Energy Units, he had a total of 60,000 Standard Energy.
According to his initial calculations, this energy should suffice for all his consumption over ten Mechanical Years.
However, plans change faster than expected. He had been captured by those Fire Crows on this Ocean island. Since his Mechanical Body only carried two hundred Energy Blocks while the rest were stored in Mouse One's space, he might still face an Energy Crisis soon.
"I need a plan; I can't just recklessly waste energy! Most importantly, I must clearly understand what I should do!"
Lin Yuan always adhered to the principle of being cautious in times of peace. Although his Mechanical Body was currently in good condition, sensing that the creature tracking him posed a threat made him realize the necessity of keeping his Mechanical Body at peak performance.
With that thought in mind, Lin Yuan initiated an Intellect self-check. This system functioned similarly to a human doctor's self-examination; whenever he sustained injuries or underwent modifications to his Mechanical Body, he would perform this check.
Of course, this self-check System was quite rudimentary. It consisted of peak data related to his Mechanical Body recorded by his past Intellect—complex and detailed down to every specific parameter of each Part. He only needed to quickly compare his Mechanical Body's parameters with these data from Intellect to easily identify which Part had suffered wear or damage.
