Lin Yuan's Auditory Radar had a precise coverage range of only fifty meters. Once he exceeded this distance, the three-dimensional projection became somewhat blurry, and there was even a delay in the return time.
After testing it out, Lin Yuan discovered that the exploration limit of the Auditory Radar was likely between three hundred to four hundred meters. Therefore, he couldn't determine if this place was Earth just by looking at the sun in the sky.
In fact, within this range, Lin Yuan could only detect particularly conspicuous objects. It was fine for checking the path ahead, but it was impossible to maintain vigilance. If an enemy attacked from fifty meters away, he would be left helpless.

At this rate, I won't even be able to crawl like a turtle; I won't be faster than a snail!" Lin Yuan was genuinely anxious now. If he didn't hurry to collect energy from the ruins, something unexpected might happen at any moment.
"Sigh! If only I had that Hover Bike with desert walking capabilities, I wouldn't have to struggle like this! Wait? Desert walking!" Suddenly, Lin Yuan remembered that seemingly useless skill—Level 0 Repair. If he could assemble two Mechanical Legs onto himself and combine them with his Mechanical Arms, he might adapt to this terrain!
Without hesitation, Lin Yuan dashed back to the Underground Warehouse. Most of the Parts on him had already been utilized, so to assemble Mechanical Legs, he would have to dismantle other bicycles. Fortunately, bicycles were abundant here.
However, while it sounded simple in theory, it proved quite challenging in practice. With Lin Yuan's current strength and two Adjustable Wrenches, he could easily disassemble a bicycle into pieces. But reassembling them would truly test his Level 0 Repair skill.
After a cacophony of clattering sounds, two bicycles were brutally dismembered. Lin Yuan stared at the scattered Parts on the ground in a daze; he really missed those lovely Modification Points.
After pondering for a while, Lin Yuan finally devised an assembly plan. First of all, due to technical limitations—no electric welding and no more refined tools—these two Mechanical Legs would have to sacrifice their flexibility and be divided into two segments that could barely perform simple bending and stretching motions.
Secondly, he needed to overcome the joint areas of the Mechanical Legs since they were crucial for accurately executing his strength. However, given the conditions, he could only use the most rudimentary movable screws as substitutes. Although this would significantly reduce efficiency, it would at least be feasible.
Moreover, Lin Yuan planned for these two Mechanical Legs to serve merely as supports; the real power output would come from his Mechanical Arms.
With the assembly plan confirmed, Lin Yuan immediately set to work. After more than an hour, two extremely rudimentary Mechanical Legs appeared before him. Based on his estimates, they could basically perform bending and stretching motions; however, each Mechanical Leg had a delay time of at least five seconds—totaling ten seconds combined.
If he wanted to create a complete set of actions, it would likely take more time.
"No way! Even if I install these two Mechanical Legs, I bet my speed will only be slightly faster than a snail!" Lin Yuan thought with frustration.
"Redo! I refuse to believe I can't make two suitable Mechanical Legs!"
With no other choice, Lin Yuan continued to swing the two Mechanical Arms and dismantled the bicycle, filling the Underground Warehouse with the sounds of clanking and clattering once again.
After more than twenty hours, the Underground Warehouse was in disarray. Aside from the intact Hover Bike, all the other bicycles had been reduced to fragments by Lin Yuan.
However, his efforts were not in vain. After failing dozens of times, he finally managed to create two relatively standard Mechanical Legs using the frame of a Folding Bicycle. Of course, the main reason for his success was that the Folding Bicycle's frame was already quite good; otherwise, Lin Yuan wouldn't have had such smooth progress.
As he carefully installed the two Mechanical Legs at the center of the wheels, a light sound echoed, and a message appeared in Lin Yuan's mind.
"Basic Repair Skills proficiency is full. Triggered First-Level Modification Skill Quest. Do you accept?"
"Modification skills? What is that? Could it be a skill similar to Modification Points?" Lin Yuan immediately thought of Modification Points, which he now knew were incredibly valuable! Unfortunately, they were only available during upgrades. He never expected to trigger such a rare quest now.
"Yes! I accept!" Lin Yuan replied without any hesitation.
"Ding! First-Level Modification Skill Quest requires completion of the following conditions."
"First, upgrade to F-Class Mech Warrior; second, raise Intelligence Level to level 10; third, reach Enhancement Level 15."
"Note: This quest is an actively chosen quest. If you choose to abandon it, there will be no penalties, but subsequent quests will not appear again!"
"This—these conditions are a bit too difficult!" Lin Yuan was completely speechless after reading it. These three conditions were already quite harsh for him at this moment. He still didn't know how to level up; how could he possibly become an F-Class Mech Warrior?
He knew that although he was nominally an F1-level Mechanical Warrior, he was well aware that a true F1 Mechanical Warrior would never be this weak.

Having completed the two Mechanical Legs, Lin Yuan planned to step out of the Underground Warehouse to explore the surrounding environment. As for the modification skill task, he currently lacked the ability to complete it, so his immediate priority was to search for enough energy to deal with unexpected situations.
“Hey! Let’s see how effective these two Mechanical Legs can be!” Lin Yuan first set down the Mechanical Legs and then lifted both wheels into the air with the help of his Mechanical Arms. It looked like a spider with four legs—quite bizarre!
“Haha! Forward!” Lin Yuan shouted triumphantly in his mind. These were the Mechanical Legs he had crafted himself, and their significance was incredibly valuable.
“Alright, bend the first joint down forty-five degrees, lift the second joint up and then lower it, and then raise the first joint again…” After a series of complicated maneuvers, Lin Yuan took about a minute to move forward roughly five or six meters.

He also didn't need his two Mechanical Legs to be particularly flexible; the task of jumping could be entrusted to his two Mechanical Arms. Most importantly, he was not human, so there was no distinction between the front and back of his head; for him, all directions were the same. As long as the Auditory Radar could promptly relay images back to him, everything would be fine!
With this thought in mind, Lin Yuan quickly changed his approach, shifting his center of gravity onto his two Mechanical Arms before gathering strength and leaping!
"Bang!" There was no suspense at all; Lin Yuan fell directly to the ground without jumping even a centimeter.
"Strange? What is going on? My Mechanical Arms showed no delay, and I applied the same amount of force; there’s no reason I shouldn’t be able to jump!" Lin Yuan pondered with some frustration. "Could it be the angle? Yes! That must be it!"
Getting up from the ground, Lin Yuan did not attempt to jump immediately but instead carefully recalled that fleeting moment while continuously making adjustments in his mind.
A few minutes later, Lin Yuan tried jumping again. This time it went smoothly, but unfortunately, the height and distance were still not ideal.
However, Lin Yuan was not discouraged at all. He continued to practice jumping while observing the state of his Mechanical Arms and Mechanical Legs, making adjustments as needed.
