After bidding farewell to everyone, Wang Chao rode Little Wolf, accompanied by Little Grudge, and hurried towards the Imperial Capital. They hardly stopped along the way, directly bypassing any Zombies they encountered. Even so, it took them a whole day to reach the vicinity of the Imperial Capital. Wang Chao finally understood why people often said that time is life.
Just as he was about to urge Little Wolf to head straight for the Imperial Capital Safe Zone to quickly learn about its situation, both Wang Chao and Little Grudge simultaneously spotted something crawling out from behind a tall building—it was a Komodo Dragon. This Komodo Dragon was enormous compared to the ones Wang Chao was familiar with; he even wondered if an Ultraman would appear next, as it was towering at least ten stories high. On the back of this giant Lizard were countless Zombies, seemingly using the massive creature as a ladder, slowly moving forward as if intending to send these Zombies over the ten-meter-high Safe Zone wall.
Wang Chao had no idea where these monsters came from, but judging by their appearance, they likely emerged from a small town. He often saw these mutated creatures in the small town, and now he had no idea what was happening there. The young soldiers guarding the town could be dead or alive. However, it was clear from this situation that Zhang Fusheng must be focusing on attacking the Imperial Capital.
Despite its massive size, the Komodo Dragon moved slowly, possibly due to the thousands of Zombies standing on its back. Many Zombies were also advancing beneath this Giant Lizard. Its limbs were raised about five or six meters high, and even in those gaps, there were Zombies. Every step of the Komodo Dragon avoided stepping on any Zombies below it. Wang Chao realized that someone must be controlling this mutated Komodo Dragon. If this Zombie managed to reach the foot of the Imperial Capital, it would surely fall.
Thinking of this, Wang Chao quickly said to Little Grudge, "Can you control that Giant Lizard? Look at it; there must be a Mind Controller nearby!"
Only then did Little Grudge snap out of her shock at Wang Chao's words. She nodded and immediately closed her eyes. At that moment, Little Wolf was far away on a mountain peak where there were no Zombies around, allowing Wang Chao to observe the actions of the Giant Lizard closely. Soon after Little Grudge closed her eyes, the Giant Lizard began to move erratically.
The Komodo Dragon, which had been walking steadily forward, seemed to stumble over something. Wang Chao knew it wasn't a real obstacle; it was Little Grudge's Mental Power at work. As her Mental Power intensified, the Zombie's movements became noticeably uncoordinated. The continuous swaying caused many Zombies standing on its back to fall off; within moments, thousands of them plummeted to the ground or into piles of corpses, turning into mush or crashing onto other Zombies.
The Komodo Dragon's feet occasionally crushed those Zombies moving along with it into pulp. It seemed like victory was near when suddenly Little Grudge's expression twisted in pain; sweat poured down her face and soaked her clothes more than during their previous encounter in Jing City. Wang Chao understood that she was battling other Mind Controllers for control over this creature. This struggle lasted for half an hour during which Wang Chao could only wipe away her sweat that flowed like a stream.
During this time, the giant Lizard swayed back and forth like a marionette on strings. The Zombies beneath and around it were frequently crushed or killed by the Komodo Dragon's movements. Finally, Little Grudge opened her eyes and leaned weakly against Wang Chao, looking so drained she could barely speak. Wang Chao quickly retrieved a pill left by Little Grass from his Spatial Ring and placed it in her mouth. After a minute, she began to recover.
"No good; there are many Mind Controllers nearby—at least five of them," Little Grudge gasped for breath before continuing without looking back at Wang Chao. "Two are controlling this giant Lizard's movements while the others are managing other Zombies."
"When I tried to seize control of this giant creature, I could easily handle two opponents at once. But later on, three others abandoned their control over their Zombies and joined forces with those two against me!"
"Their Mental Powers combined!" Little Grudge explained. "You have to understand that this is practically impossible—it's like two people's strength suddenly merging into one person’s body. It's similar to two people attacking you; one has their own strength while they can cooperate and strategize together but cannot suddenly transfer their strength onto one person to fight you—Mental Power works similarly!"
"So what do you mean?" Wang Chao asked.
"If that's the case," Little Grudge replied with a hint of fear in her voice as she realized her thoughts, "it means there is at least one more Mind Controller who isn't controlling Zombies but is instead controlling those who control the Zombies!"
At this point, Wang Chao had a rough idea of who this person was. If there was still someone in the world with such extraordinary abilities, it could only be Zhang Fusheng. Since Zhang Fusheng had mastered the method given to him by the old man to control Zombies, there was no reason he wouldn't know how to do it. With this thought in mind, Wang Chao said, "So, you're saying that the strongest controller is already aware of your existence?"
"That's right!" Little Grudge nodded, still shaken. "That powerful Mental Power almost caught me, making it difficult for me to escape. If I hadn't fought with all my strength, I would have probably ended up as a twisted corpse by now! But when I hurriedly tried to withdraw my Mental Power, I didn't have time to consider hiding or concealing myself. So, that Mind Controller must have discovered me and probably knows our current location!"
"You’re right!" Wang Chao pointed at the countless Zombies surging toward them in the distance and said, "He has already found us. Since we can't control that Komodo Dragon, I'll eliminate his minions and find those Mind Controllers. Remember, don't get caught! If it's too dangerous, don't force it. Now, let's go fight together!"
