After gathering, the group set off towards B Base in search of the ultimate truth.
From their conversations, they learned that G Base had been encircling the Huaxia Corps. They had mistaken a vehicle for an enemy and had taken a defensive stance.
Now that the Huaxia Corps and the Huaxia Four Corps had finally merged, their team had grown stronger, with more personnel and supplies than before.
On their way to B Base, they engaged in clever battles against G Base and Zombies, climbing snow-capped mountains, crossing cliffs, and battling mutated flora and fauna. They hid from the Government Army's planes, artillery, and tanks as they maneuvered forward. When the Government Army believed they were preparing to attack a large base, they advanced through uninhabited areas; when the Government Army thought they were winding along mountain roads, they swiftly captured a medium-sized city, resupplied, and then quickly departed.
Through this guerrilla warfare and mobile combat, the combat experience of the two divisions of the Huaxia Army continued to grow. The members of the Huaxia Four Corps, with their complementary abilities, worked together more seamlessly, developing various attack techniques and integrated formations for offense and defense. The troops underwent significant training; their initial naivety was polished away, revealing a sharpness akin to a sword—unstoppable in their path.
Su Ruolan's relationship with the Huaxia Corps and the Huaxia Four Corps became increasingly harmonious. Whenever a comrade was severely injured, she would use her healing ability to treat them, continuously enhancing her healing skills. Every rescued soldier expressed deep gratitude towards Su Ruolan. Through these challenges from the soldiers, Su Ruolan gained new insights and solidified her understanding. Reset began to transform from a childlike figure into that of a youth; his once round face became angular as he shed his baby fat. He grew taller with long limbs and adorably naive features—a cunning young man.
Although Reset did not level up, his space underwent an upgrade, which reflected back on Su Ruolan. After her elevation, she also facilitated upgrades for other contractors and beasts. Monet finally transformed into a well-built young man with muscular limbs and thick silver-gray hair. Cheng Xi was left dumbfounded upon seeing him; especially when he spoke in a deep voice that resonated like a bass speaker—it made hearts flutter and ears tingle. Cheng Xi, who usually showed no fear, surprisingly hid behind Kong Xiang with a hint of blush.
The Bat King also benefited greatly from this transformation, rising back to level five as an Elegant Young Man. When he emerged from the shadows, his formerly curly golden hair turned brown; he had thick brows and large eyes with fair skin and thin red lips. His black tailcoat perfectly accentuated his tall figure. Perhaps infused with a trace of Su Baby's essence in his soul, he developed an inexplicable admiration for Su Ruolan after successfully transforming. Though he pretended not to care, he could not resist the pull from deep within his soul.
Kong Xiang and Cheng Xi solidified their abilities but did not level up; it seemed that this time Su Ruolan's energy was sensed first by stronger beasts who connected and transformed before them.
Regardless of how things unfolded, everyone felt happier about it; after all, in this apocalyptic world, greater strength meant better protection for oneself and for those they cared about.
