Su Ruolan unleashed the Wind Elemental Power to its fullest extent, barely passing through the energy ring. She steadied herself, swaying slightly, and found herself face to face with a group of astonished soldiers. Behind them, the door and windows of Room 109 shook violently before suddenly bursting apart. Wood splinters, metal sheets, glass, and tiles flew towards the unsuspecting soldiers standing with their backs turned. Although all the projectiles were flying through the air, they were searing hot and crackling with electrical energy. The soldiers were caught off guard, their hair standing on end, faces darkening as they rolled their eyes back in shock, their bodies convulsing. 0

Amidst the smoke-filled room, a figure slowly emerged, exuding an imposing presence and strikingly handsome—Qin Zhi Han. 0

Great! He’s unharmed. Su Ruolan felt a wave of genuine relief wash over her. After passing through the energy ring, Monet had returned to its space, and such high-speed movement had left it utterly exhausted. Once Monet disintegrated, Su Ruolan felt a severe depletion of her Water Ability, leaving her with an energy void. She immediately activated her Wood Elemental Ability, remaining on high alert. Seeing Qin Zhi Han safe and sound eased the heavy weight in her heart as she stared at him in a daze, unsure of what to say. 0

Qin Zhi Han quickly stepped in front of Su Ruolan, shielding her behind him. He addressed Jiang Yan and the others who were gradually regaining their senses, saying, “What merit do I have that Jiang Lianzhang’s Cheetah Squad is here to protect me?” 0

“Pfft! Who would want to protect you? You think you’re worthy!” Jiang Yan snapped angrily upon realizing that Qin Zhi Han had regained his composure. Given their current weakened state, it was impossible for him to silently eliminate Qin Zhi Han. 0

“In that case, I assume Jiang Lianzhang has official business to attend to. I won’t delay you any further. Farewell.” With that, Qin Zhi Han cupped his hands in salute and turned away, briskly taking Su Ruolan by the hand as they left. Su Ruolan stood there in confusion, watching Jiang Yan’s furious expression as she followed Qin Zhi Han toward the stairs. 0

Upon reaching the eighth floor, they encountered Liu Dan and Jiang Da’s teams. 0

“Captain Qin!” Both teams exclaimed simultaneously but with different emotions—Liu Dan and his team were filled with surprise and joy while Jiang Da’s team was gripped by fear and suspicion. 0

“We’re leaving!” Qin Zhi Han said to Liu Dan. 0

“Yes, Company Commander,” Liu Dan replied eagerly. 0

“Don’t let them go!” Jiang Da shouted fiercely as he blocked their path. 0

“Let them pass,” Jiang Yan appeared at the stairway entrance and said to Jiang Da. Watching Qin Zhi Han’s retreating figure, he suddenly shouted loudly, “Qin Zhi Han, the Wolf Brigade won’t always be number one! I will surpass you and defeat you!” 0

Qin Zhi Han paused for a moment, not turning back, and continued to pull Su Ruolan along. 0

As they walked, he asked, "Liu Dan, how are Liu Dan and Bai Zhen doing?" 0

"They're seriously injured and have been placed in the collective ward on the sixth floor of this building," Liu Dan replied quickly. "I'll take you there now." 0

They arrived at the stairwell on the sixth floor, and with a heavy thud, Liu Dan slammed against the iron door, forcing it open. Seeing this, Su Ruolan couldn't help but recall the incident on the Tenth Floor; if it hadn't been for the unfortunate Sound System soldier opening the door from inside, she would have had to go through quite a bit of trouble to get in. It served as a reminder that one should never be too arrogant. 0

Upon reaching the sixth floor, they opened the doors to check on their comrades. Unlike the individual rooms on the Tenth Floor, each room here housed up to four people. Many were missing limbs or had broken legs, their heads wrapped in several layers of bandages. They lay in bed, barely clinging to life, looking as if they might not survive much longer. 0

Qin Zhi Han felt a sharp pain in his heart, his eyes bloodshot. When the soldiers saw Qin Zhi Han and his group, their previously vacant eyes suddenly lit up with a glimmer of hope. Their lips trembled as they weakly uttered, "Kill me!" 0

As long as their brains weren't damaged, all normal deaths would result in becoming Zombies. Some individuals, unwilling to transform into such monsters, would plead with their friends and family for mercy to allow them to die completely. 0

Although none of the injured were members of the Wolf Brigade, they were familiar comrades who had fought together against Zombies. Seeing their condition filled everyone with sorrow. 0

After opening several more rooms, they finally found Bai Zhen and Jackson Wang. Fortunately amidst their misfortune, they were merely exhausted from using their abilities, had minor fractures in their arms, some inflammation, and were starving. 0

Thankfully, Su Ruolan had brought a backpack with her. She pulled out a few soft bread rolls and bottles of mineral water from inside, discreetly mixing in some anti-inflammatory medication before handing them out. 0

Having regained some strength, Liu Dan and his companions helped support Bai Zhen and Jackson Wang as they assisted them out of the room. 0

"Liu Dan, you take them back first," Qin Zhi Han said as he stood at the nurse's station with his back turned to the rooms. 0

Bai Zhen looked momentarily confused but quickly understood when he saw Liu Dan's pained expression. "Let's go." 0

After Bai Zhen and the others left, Qin Zhi Han slowly turned and walked toward the several rooms. Su Ruolan felt a deep ache in her heart; the emotion of parting with comrades in life and death was all too familiar. Although she had medicine, it was of no use to these people, and her healing ability was not yet at the level to snatch lives back from the hands of death. Faced with this situation, she felt a profound sense of defeat. 0

"I'm sorry, I'm truly sorry," Qin Zhi Han whispered as he held the hand of a severely injured patient. 0

"Thank you," the patient replied softly, gently tapping Qin Zhi Han's hand with a finger, his eyes filled with comfort. 0

Picking up a pillow, Qin Zhi Han placed it over the patient's face and quickly pulled the trigger. 0

A tear slipped from the corner of the severely injured patient's eye beneath the pillow. The other patients in their beds watched calmly, feeling a sense of solace. 0

Su Ruolan observed as Qin Zhi Han bid farewell to each severely injured soldier. The gun in his hand trembled more and more, his eyes growing increasingly red. She felt a lump in her throat and couldn't help but shed tears, turning away to avoid looking directly at him. Anger bubbled within her; when would this damned world come to an end? 0

Leaving the room, Qin Zhi Han's figure appeared slightly hunched, his steps heavy. Su Ruolan was deeply worried; after all, killing comrades could become a burden he carried for life. "I swear, I will dedicate my life to ending this dark and chaotic world," he declared firmly as he gazed at the pitch-black night sky filled with lightning and thunder, rain pouring down fiercely. 0

Reaching the exit of the Inpatient Department, Su Ruolan took out two umbrellas from her backpack—actually from her space—and handed one to Qin Zhi Han as they moved through the rain. 0

Her affinity for water elements quickly alerted Su Ruolan that something was wrong. "Qin Zhi Han, this rain is problematic." 0

The two hurriedly jumped into a car left behind by Liu Dan and the others. As soon as they got inside, they noticed holes forming in their umbrellas due to corrosion. It was super acidic rain. Qin Zhi Han quickly started the vehicle and drove toward the Residential Area. 0

The rain fell harder and harder. A homeless person on the street suddenly let out a horrific scream before his face turned a sickly gray. His teeth elongated into fangs, his fingernails became long and sharp, and his flesh seemed to be stripped away like fat from a corpse. His eyes glowed red as he lunged at others seeking shelter from the rain. 0

The same scene unfolded elsewhere at H Base. 0

Anyone caught in this rain without any means of resistance would turn into zombies. 0

Outside H Base, the wandering Zombies became excited, their guttural sounds echoing in the rain. Some of the previously vacant-eyed Zombies began to move their gazes, while others, realizing they were naked, started to peel bark from trees to cover themselves. More Zombies no longer stumbled; their walking speed increased, with some leaping two or three meters in a single bound. 0

This heavy rain had triggered a collective evolution among the Common Zombies. 0

"Report," a soldier entered the Administrative Building's conference room and approached Colonel Jiang, whispering, "The Cheetah Operation has failed." 0

"Report," another soldier knocked on the door. After receiving permission, he entered the conference room and announced loudly, "Colonel Zhu, Captain Qin is fine now and has led his Wolf Brigade back to the Residential Area." 0

"Report," a soldier rushed in without permission. 0

"What is going on? Is there no discipline left?" Colonel Jiang, already agitated by the news of Qin Zhi Han's survival, vented his frustration on the soldier who had barged in. 0

"Not good! Multiple Zombies have been spotted in the city, especially in Zone Four and Zone Five. It's already chaotic; the number of mutated individuals has reached several hundred!" The soldier hurriedly reported, disregarding any formalities. 0

"What? Aren't we supposed to conduct regular inspections and clear them out? How could there be Zombies in the city?" Colonel Jiang exclaimed in shock, abandoning his authoritative demeanor to shout. 0

"What? That area is packed with thousands of people!" Colonel Zhu exclaimed, slamming his hand on the table in disbelief. 0

Outside H Base, some of the recovering Zombies began to howl, their voices piercing through miles. The Common Zombies heard the sound and started to run and gather, forming a dark mass as if hell's gates had opened and a horde of demons was unleashed. 0
