Mu Xuanche narrowed his eyes. "This picture harms one's lifespan and destroys one's fortune. But just having the picture alone isn't enough; it must be paired with an appropriate burial site and the body of a pure Yin female to maximize its effect. Moreover, this picture doesn't only harm others; its greatest beneficiary is its owner. All the lifespan lost and fortunes destroyed from the victim are transferred to the owner of this picture—it's truly malicious."
Hearing about such a deceptive technique for the first time piqued my curiosity, so I asked, "How did you recognize it, Mu Xuanche?"

Suddenly, it struck me: according to Mu Xuanche, this picture had an owner. If Mu Xuanche had taken it down, then surely the owner would know by now!
I voiced my concern: "If you've taken down this picture, won't its owner find out? What if they come looking for us?"
Mu Xuanche sneered coldly. "If they come looking for us, that's actually better—it saves us the trouble of searching for them."
I considered this and agreed.
Sitting on the sofa, I turned to Bai Qiling and asked, "How's your waist? Is the injury healed?"

Bai Qiling smiled.
Mu Xuanche walked over.

"Xiao Xuanxuan died about two years ago, while Junfeng Wang unfortunately faced troubles only in the last three months. Why didn't Xiao Xuanxuan come to find Junfeng Wang immediately after her death? This is a point of suspicion," I remarked.

Her suddenly elongated sharp nails had turned from bright red to a deep crimson, her eyes elongated as well, with strange runes glowing faintly in dark golden light at the corners. "Don't blame me; this is your fate."
"Qiling, don't use all your strength. There's something off here." Seeing Bai Qiling struggling against Xiao Xuanxuan's assault made Mu Xuanche uneasy.
The stance she took suggested she was about to summon ghostly generals from the underworld. "This terrain isn't suitable for large-scale combat."
"Mu Xuanche, coordinate with me; my speed can't match hers."

Her footsteps appeared strange, unpredictable, lightly tapping before swiftly bouncing away.
"Qiling, just feel it," Mu Xuanche said as he and Bai Qiling stood back to back. Bai Qiling understood that Mu Xuanche wanted him to sense the opponent's moves in order to find a way to counter them.
"Hey, handsome guys, is this how you plan to keep me company? Don't you want your little partner anymore?"
Xiao Xuanxuan seemed to realize that the two of them had no way to break her defenses in such a short time. She became somewhat smug, even extending her nails provocatively during her movements, leaving several long and deep scratches on Bai Qiling's face.
"Mu Xuanche, can't we just break through?" Bai Qiling couldn't hold back any longer; this female ghost was truly testing his limits. He readied the Garo Chain in his hand, intending to forcefully ensnare her.
