The door to the room opened, and in walked Mu Xuanche and Bai Qiling.
Bai Qiling sat down beside me, placing his hand on my wrist. It seemed that Mu Xuanche had called him to check my throat, and the fact that I couldn't make a sound had made Mu Xuanche very anxious.
As time passed, Bai Qiling's expression grew more and more serious. I felt a bit worried and glanced up at Mu Xuanche.

It was the first time I had seen him curse. He had always been so cold and distant before.

I nodded but didn't shake my head. Later, he was called out by a big man.

But reality is reality; a knock on the door broke the moment.

When the burly man entered, he wore a look of trepidation, and it seemed that Mu Xuanche's expression was particularly grim at that moment.
The man swallowed hard and spoke with difficulty, "Master, the car is ready. We can head down now."

He packed his things onto his back, and I prepared to stand up and follow him downstairs.

"I'm carrying you down," he said.

I struggled to get down, but then Butt gave him a light slap.
The force wasn't strong, but the sound was particularly loud.
"If you move again, I'll pin you to the bed and keep at it until you're too weak to resist," he threatened blatantly, which left me frozen in place, too intimidated to move in his embrace.
I promised myself that if I struggled again, he would definitely use that as an excuse to devour me completely—leaving no bones behind.
Once I was carried into the car, I felt my entire body flush with heat because the burly man was sitting right in front of me.
I could sense him watching our movements through the rearview mirror as I curled up in the back.
Mu Xuanche noticed and abruptly pulled down the partition.
A gasp came from the front; it seemed he had startled someone.
I texted him to ask where we were going.
He told me we needed to return to Qilin Island in H City first, as there were things left behind on the island.
I asked him about Chen Jiang's arrangements, but he insisted I shouldn't worry about those matters.
We quickly made our way back to Qilin Island, and fortunately, nothing unusual happened along the way; it was a smooth journey onto the island.
Once we arrived, Mu Xuanche's vigilance over me relaxed significantly.
