"Big Man, this is the order from the Island Master. Just listen carefully,"
As soon as he heard it was the Island Master's command, the big man nodded vigorously.
"Alright, alright, I understand. Chang'an is Chang'an."
"I want to go in and see my Chang'an now, so don't stop me,"
Finding him amusingly cute, I replied, "I won't stop you. In fact, you can help me keep an eye on things for a bit while I go look for Mingyue."
Since Chang'an had arrived, Mingyue had been sent to a room next door by the big man.
I had to walk a little distance to find her.
Arriving at her door, I knocked, initially thinking she wouldn't be awake at this hour.
To my surprise, she opened the door immediately.
"So early," I said, somewhat astonished.
She looked at me with an air of calmness. "Aren't you up early too?"

I pulled her gently. "Let's go inside."
We sat down on her bed, and I gazed into space before speaking lightly, "Mingyue, how long has it been since we just sat here quietly like this?"
Every day felt like a tightrope walk, and it had been a long time since I felt I could pause and catch my breath. Rarely did I have such tranquil moments.
Too many worries weighed me down, and all I wanted was to stop thinking for a while, just to take a simple break.
"Yan Xi, what do you want to ask?"
She stared at me, her eyes particularly serious.
I spoke with a solemn expression, "Mingyue, can you tell me exactly how the Master went missing?"
"Alright," she nodded in agreement, then quietly exhaled.
What she didn't know was that at that moment, I caught sight of her breath escaping.
It turned out someone had informed the Master about the discovery of a tomb in the Qin State.
The tomb complex was enormous, and many artifacts from the Qin State era had been unearthed nearby. Some vessels even bore inscriptions of Qin Wang Ying Ziying's name, which drew significant attention.
However, during the excavation of this tomb, many people died under mysterious circumstances. As strange occurrences continued, those in charge sought out the Master, hoping he could help.
Upon hearing this, the Master took it very seriously. However, as the leader of the Xuanzong sect, his responsibilities kept him guarding the mountains. Thus, he could only send his senior disciple down to investigate.
But no one expected that once the senior disciple left, he would never return. After sending many people out to search for him without success, the Master decided to take matters into his own hands.
Master has been gone for ten days without a word, which is why Shangguan Mingyue was anxious and reached out to me.
After listening to Mingyue's account, I fell into deep thought for a long time.
I had just confirmed that the Qin Wang's Tomb could not possibly appear so soon. Master is shrewd; he should be fine and merely trapped somewhere without knowing it.
A child has just been born, parents are missing, and now Master is gone as well. I suddenly found myself at a loss for what to do.
“Mingyue, what do you think we should do now?”
I tossed the question to her, hoping for an answer.
“Yan Xi, I don’t know either. Master has raised me, and I plan to find him, but my abilities are insufficient.”
Indeed, none of us have enough power.
“Yan Xi! Yan Xi!”
Hearing the shout from behind me, I quickly turned around.
I saw a burly man rushing over, holding Chang An carefully in his arms, sweat pouring down his face in panic.
Hearing the loud cries of Chang An in his embrace, I hurried forward.
“What happened?”
He frowned, "I don't know either. I was comforting him just fine, but suddenly Chang'an started crying, and it was heart-wrenching. Look, you have to take a look!"
He was so anxious that he was sweating all over. I took Chang'an and looked at him.
The little one seemed to understand me; after sensing my scent, he kept nuzzling into my arms, opening his mouth wide.
It was clear he was starving. Worried about the big man’s anxiety, I quickly explained,
"Big Man, Chang'an is just hungry and crying hard. The child can't speak, so he can only express himself through crying."
He still looked worried, staring at me intently.
"Are you sure it's just hunger? Can a hungry child cry this sadly? Those big tears are enough to break anyone's heart. Just look at him; he's already lost weight from crying."
This big man was just too nervous about Chang'an. He had originally planned to chat with Mingyue, but now he had to first take care of this little ancestor in his arms.
Fortunately, the little one had a good temperament and wasn't as stubborn as his father.
After being fed, he fell asleep without any more fuss.
When the big man came in and saw him sleeping, he finally let out a sigh of relief.
"The young master really was hungry; it's good that he's fine now."
He soon realized that something was off in his words and quickly looked up to explain, "Yan Xi, I'm just calling out in front of you. I wouldn't do that in front of others."
Not wanting to make things difficult for him, I nodded.
"Big Man, go close the door. I need to ask you something."
He glanced at me and obediently went to shut the door.
"Yan Xi, it's done. What do you want to ask?"
"Big Man, I want to know about your relationship with the Island Master. Can you tell me how you two met?"
Ever since I found out that Mu Xuanche was the Island Master, I had been feeling particularly suffocated and uneasy inside.
The feeling of being deceived was truly unpleasant. He slapped me, and I stabbed him; we were even.
But since this morning when I got up, I hadn't seen him, and my heart felt particularly empty, as if something was missing.
The Big Man kept stealing glances at me. I knew he was loyal to the Island Master, but now that I had grasped his weakness, I had a way to make him speak.
"Big Man, you’re willing to tell me, right?"
He remained silent.

The Great Han seemed taken aback by my imposing demeanor, shrinking his neck in surprise.

Overwhelmed by anger, I didn't care about anything else and directly interrupted the Great Han's stammering. "What do you mean 'I'? When I call you, you just—"
Under my pressure, the Great Han had no choice but to share his story about the Island Master.
The Great Han was somewhat of an orphan; he was taken in by the Island Master when he was born. At that time, he didn't understand much; an old man brought him along, and he called the old man 'Master.'
After the old man passed away, he was groomed to be the successor and helped the Island Master manage everything.
He didn't know much about the Island Master; it was always the Island Master who told him what to do.
"Big Guy, do you know when the Island Master started using this face?"
He looked at me in confusion. "Using this face?"
"It's nothing. I just think his icy expression is quite unattractive," I laughed lightly to cover up my previous words. It turned out that even the Big Guy didn't know the true identity of Mu Xuanche; he was hiding it well. What exactly was he planning?
If it weren't for my injury this time, I might have continued to be kept in the dark.
"Yan Xi, I knew all of this and told you everything. Can you please not leave?"
The Big Guy spoke carefully, and his expression was amusingly tense.
"Alright, I won't leave. Tell me, do you know where the Island Master is?"
"I don't know. The Master left early this morning. He instructed me to tell you not to look for your parents. He will find a way for you. He can guarantee your parents' safety and ensure that Jin Ping, that Demoness, won't harm them."
After hearing the Big Guy's words, I forced a smile.
Not to look for them?
Even if I wanted to find them, I needed to know where they were. Right now, I didn't even know their location.

"Yan Xi, I don't know how the Master is going to protect your parents, but I do know that as long as he speaks up, he can make it happen. It seems like he went out this time for that very reason."
He really cares about my parents enough to go out for them?
Isn't he supposed to hate my grandfather? Doesn't he see me as an enemy? How could he possibly go save my parents?
My head was pounding, and I wanted some quiet time alone.
"I understand. Big Man, you go ahead. I'll take a nap with Chang'an."
"Alright."
The Big Man took a few steps but turned back, still worried. "I'll be right outside. If you need anything, just call for me."
I nodded, and only then did he leave with some reassurance.
