"Are you afraid of pain?" I asked him.
He shook his head at me. "Not afraid."
I spoke up, "Give me the knife."
Taking the knife he handed me, I cut open his pants and burned the blade with a candle on the table, considering it a form of disinfection.
The tip of the knife pierced into his thigh as I extracted the bullet inside.
Fortunately, I had gained experience from my previous attempt on myself, so this time my hands didn't shake. The knife quickly slid into his thigh, and with a swift motion, I accurately retrieved the bullet.
While doing this, I pondered a solution. "Big guy, I have an idea. Are you willing to give it a try?"
He looked at me anxiously. "Yan Xi, what are you talking about? If you have a way to save me, hurry up."
"Strength in numbers; we can go find He Zhi Yong for help."
My suggestion left him in silence. He seemed to be contemplating, more focused on my intentions behind this proposal.
After a long pause, he looked up at me. "Yan Xi, are you sure you can handle that old man?"
I felt uncertain. Even though he called me his 'daughter' and was my grandfather's disciple, when faced with the situation, I couldn't be sure.
"Big guy, I can't guarantee it, but I think we should give it a try."
In the end, after some discussion, he decided to follow my lead throughout the process.
At the entrance of the dungeon, I took the key from the burly man and unlocked the door.
The moment the door swung open, a shadow lunged at me, gripping my throat tightly.
The burly man shouted anxiously from behind me, "Old fool, what are you doing? Let go of her!"
I remained calm and composed, not panicking. If he truly intended to kill me, I would have been dead the moment he attacked; there was no way he would have waited this long.
"Uncle He, it's me. What are you doing?"
Hearing my voice, He Zhi Yong slowly released his grip. "Girl, how is it you?"
"Uncle He, there are members of the Cult of Spirits attacking outside. I'm here to get you out."
He stepped out of the cell, looking quite disheveled but standing tall nonetheless.
"Girl, are you trying to fool your Uncle?"
The old man was sharper than I expected; he wasn't easily deceived.
"Uncle, let me be honest with you. The Cult of Spirits is coming for me; they are my enemies who want to kill me. I hope you can help me for my grandfather's sake."
He looked at me suspiciously. "The Cult of Spirits wants to kill you, yet it's your companion here who is injured. Do you think I believe you?"
"Uncle, you have to believe me. The Cult of Spirits really wants to kill me; their leader wants to know the location of Qin Wang's Tomb, so they want me dead."
His face turned pale with shock as he exclaimed, "You mean Qin Wang's Tomb? Ying Ziying's Tomb?"
I nodded, and he paused for a moment before asking,
"Girl, do you know where Qin Wang's Tomb is?"
"Uncle, I don't know, but I've seen those Gold Foil Silks. I've seen two of them; they were ruined, but I memorized the contents on them."
As we were talking, hurried and chaotic footsteps echoed from above. The big man responsible for the lookout rushed back in, looking anxious.
"Not good, Yan Xi! The Cult of Spirits has found the dungeon. You need to escape quickly; I'll hold them off."
"Uncle..." I looked anxiously at He Zhi Yong, uncertain if he was willing to help.
To my surprise, he gave me a reassuring look and said to the big man, "Big Guy, take me to see."
The big man glanced at me, and after I nodded in agreement, he led He Zhi Yong outside.
I stayed hidden inside the door, observing the scene outside. The big man stood behind He Zhi Yong, holding a shotgun and glaring fiercely at Shangguan Zili and her group.
"Demoness, haven't you learned your lesson from last time? You dare to come to the island and cause trouble again? When my master arrives, I'll have him skin you alive."
Because of the big man's taunts, Shangguan Zili's expression turned particularly grim.
"You filthy mutt! If you have the guts, call your master out! I want to see how he teaches you to stop barking like a mad dog."
It was clear without needing to listen that Shangguan Zili was only so bold because the Island Master was not on the island. If she didn't have solid evidence, she wouldn't dare act recklessly.
Who leaked the news of my arrival on the island? Why did Shangguan Zili and her group discover it so easily? Chuchen absolutely couldn't have gone out; I trust him.
"Demoness, what exactly are you doing on my island today?"
Shangguan Zili glanced at the burly man with a cold smile, her expression full of disdain.
"What am I here for? Four of my subordinates were bitten to death right here. Shouldn't you compensate for that?"
"Hahaha, what a joke! This sea area belongs to our Island Master. Those people trespassed and became food for our Island Master's pets; they brought it upon themselves."
The burly man's mocking laughter made Shangguan Zili's face turn red with anger, her eyes wide open in fury.
With a wave of her hand, the two rows of men in black stepped back, and four armed men emerged. Shangguan Zili commanded, "You four, shoot this stupid dog until he’s full of holes."
In this critical moment, He Zhi Yong spoke up.
"Wait!"
"You look young but have quite the temper. Your Old Sect Leader should be gone by now, right? Where's the New Sect Leader? Bring them to me," Shangguan Zili said, sizing up He Zhi Yong with a dismissive gaze that clearly showed her contempt.
"How dare you! Our leader is not someone a beggar like you can call out to. Get lost, or I'll kill you!"
It turned out that the person I saw was the New Sect Leader, no wonder he looked so young.
So, what happened to their Old Sect Leader? Did he die or something? How did he abdicate to the New Sect Leader?
This time, I would have the chance to witness the abilities of He Zhi Yong and see how much truth there was in his words.
I saw He Zhi Yong, who was being insulted, showing no signs of anger. Instead, he wore a grin that seemed to stretch from ear to ear.

He Zhi Yong sneered, "Just teaching you how to treat your elders."
The burly man beside him cheered enthusiastically.
As for me hiding inside, I couldn't help but laugh at Shangguan Zili's predicament.
How could Shangguan Zili let this go? Her face was flushed with embarrassment and rage as she shouted at those around her.
"You useless bunch! Why aren't you doing anything? Are you waiting for nightfall to act?"
With a command from her, four guns were swiftly loaded and aimed at the burly men.
"Don't regret it, girl,"
Shangguan Zili was startled by He Zhi Yong's sudden remark, looking at him in confusion without giving any orders.
Her suspicion was too heavy; she had originally thought everything would go smoothly tonight, but unexpectedly fell into the traps I had set up a few times. Now, with the sudden appearance of someone like He Zhi Yong, she became cautious.
Ironically, her caution created an opportunity for He Zhi Yong.
I couldn't tell what he had thrown to the ground, but in an instant, white smoke filled the air, causing a stinging sensation that made me tear up.
Everything before me turned hazy; I couldn't see anything outside, and even the visibility inside the dungeon was affected.
Suddenly, a pair of large hands grabbed me.
I was about to stab him with my dagger when he covered my mouth.
"Yan Xi, don't scream, it's me,"
Then I was led deeper into the dungeon by the big man. He Zhi Yong was already waiting for us inside.
When he saw me enter, his face fell long.
"Girl, this time my life is in your hands. Why didn't you tell them there were guns?"
Feeling a bit guilty, I realized it was indeed my fault for bringing He Zhi Yong into this situation.
