Seeing Old Ghost destroyed, Mu Xuanche rushed forward without hesitation. 0

Chuchen, unwilling to back down, engaged in a fierce struggle with him. 0

With no sign of my parents, the two of them were fighting again, and I was getting increasingly anxious. 0

Just as I was about to call Bai Qiling over to help mediate, I was surprised to find her comfortably leaning against the side, looking utterly relaxed. 0

"Bai Qiling, why aren't you going over to stop them?" 0

"What's there to stop? If they want to fight, let them fight," she replied nonchalantly. 0

Mu Xuanche had his hand around Chuchen's neck, and Chuchen's Yin Qi was weakening rapidly. Despite his desperate struggles, he couldn't break free. 0

If this continued, Chuchen would be in real danger; I couldn't just stand by. 0

Though I hadn't figured out why Chuchen wanted to kill Old Ghost, after several encounters with him, I didn't believe Chuchen was a bad person. 0

The murderous intent in Mu Xuanche's eyes and the overwhelming aura of hostility surrounding him made it clear that he intended to finish Chuchen off. 0

Panic surged within me as I rushed forward without thinking. 0

"Stop!" 0

I grabbed Mu Xuanche's hand that was choking Chuchen. "Mu Xuanche, don't kill him!" 0

It seemed unexpected that I would plead for Chuchen. Mu Xuanche stared at me, his eyes still filled with intense murderous intent, his voice cold and crisp. 0

"You plead for him." 0

A wave of fear surged within me; I had been so anxious that I forgot Mu Xuanche's greatest taboo. 0

Chuchen looked at me, a strange glimmer in his eyes. 0

This only fueled Mu Xuanche's anger further. He glared at me, a deep chill flashing in his dark eyes. 0

"Kill him, then I'll deal with you." 0

Since coming out of the cellar, Mu Xuanche had become somewhat unhinged, as if possessed by a demon from hell, exuding a chilling aura of death. 0

Chuchen shot him a furious glare, his face pale with rage, breathing heavily. "Mu Xuanche, if you're a man, just kill me instead of wasting words." 0

A shadow of malice crossed his eyes as he furrowed his brow, the corners of his mouth turning down slightly. "Prepare to die." 0

Knowing that Mu Xuanche was about to strike with lethal intent, I could no longer hold back and dashed between the two of them. 0

Because of my intervention, Mu Xuanche's hand that was meant to strike was pulled back just in time. 0

However, he hadn't managed to retract it completely and ended up injuring himself. 0

"Poof," 0

Mu Xuanche spat out a mouthful of blood. 0

I rushed over, calling out to Bai Qiling, 0

"Come here quickly and take a look!" 0

Under Shangguan Mingyue's urging, Bai Qiling reluctantly approached, shooting me a glare filled with mockery and a chilling disdain. 0

"Gu Yanxi, you really know how to stir things up," 0

I understood he was angry at me for getting Mu Xuanche hurt, so I dared not retort. 0

After Bai Qiling's simple treatment, Mu Xuanche seemed to stabilize, but his expression remained dark, unwilling even to glance my way. 0

I glanced at Chuchen standing in the distance and asked him, "Do you know where my parents are?" 0

He silently mouthed three words to me: "I'm sorry," before disappearing from sight. 0

Seeing this scene, Bai Qiling couldn't help but laugh derisively from the side. 0

"You're really just putting your warm face against a cold butt. You treat him so well, yet he won't even tell you where your parents are. Is this really love?" 0

"I..." 0

I wanted to argue back, but the words caught in my throat when I saw Mu Xuanche. The disappointment and the barely contained rage in his eyes made me feel terrible. 0

I wanted to explain that I didn't like Chuchen; I just thought he didn't deserve to die, and that was all. 0

But the way Mu Xuanche looked at me made it impossible to speak. 0

Just a moment ago, I had been immersed in the warmth of love, but now I felt like I had been cast into hell. My parents were missing, and Mu Xuanche was ignoring me. 0

Mu Xuanche stood up, preparing to leave, and I grabbed the hem of his shirt. 0

Bai Qiling came over to stop me, and I shot him a glare. 0

For a moment, it seemed my gaze intimidated him; he took a step back and didn’t approach again. 0

But Mu Xuanche pushed my hand away and left my sight, disappearing from view. 0

Bai Qiling followed him, leaving Mingyue behind. 0

"Yan Xi, don't be sad. It's just a man; what's so great about that?" 0

I wiped away my tears, knowing that this was not the time to cry. What mattered now was finding my parents and then explaining everything to Mu Xuanche. 0

I knelt before my grandfather's grave and bowed my head deeply. 0

"Grandpa, Yan Xi has been unfilial and hasn't come to see you. Now that my parents are missing, you must bless me to find them." 0

I bowed again, and when I lifted my head, I noticed a machete leaning against the wall of the tomb. 0

How could there be such a thing in front of my grandfather's grave? I stepped closer to examine it. 0

The more I looked at it, the more familiar it seemed. When I saw the large character for "Wang" on the handle, I realized where this machete came from. 0

When Liu Qingfeng had sent me to the Wang family's coffin shop to collect some wood, Uncle Wang had handed me this very machete and told me to go up the mountain to chop firewood. How did it end up here? 0

Suddenly, everything clicked into place. Holding the machete, I stood up and started walking away. 0

"Yan Xi, where are you going?" 0

Mingyue looked at me with concern. It seemed that this journey was fraught with danger, and I didn’t want her involved. 0

"Mingyue, the only apartment in the village is at the entrance. You should stay there for a night. I'll come find you tomorrow." 0

She looked at me with confusion. "What are you planning? Do you have a lead on your parents?" 0

I held up the Machete in my hand for her to see. "I found this in front of my grandfather's grave. I want to check out the owner's house; there might be some clues." 0

Upon hearing this, her face turned even redder, and she glared at me, shouting angrily, "Damn it, Gu Yanxi, what do you take me for? Am I the kind of person who fears for my life?" 0

I glanced at her, filled with gratitude. 0

She walked over and hooked her arm around my shoulder. 0

"Let's go. I’ll accompany you through fire and water." 0

We quickly descended the mountain and arrived at the Wang family’s Coffin Shop at the edge of the village. 0

As soon as we reached the entrance, we sensed an unsettling atmosphere. 0

Although the Wang family had always seemed eerie due to their coffin business, it was merely an illusion. 0

Now, however, the ominous presence loomed above us like a dark cloud. 0

The pitch-black door was slightly ajar. Shangguan Mingyue glanced at me before stepping forward to push it open. 0

The moment the door swung wide, Shangguan Mingyue suddenly took a step back. 0

I quickly reacted and steadied her. Leaning in for a closer look, I was nearly speechless from shock. 0

A boy dressed in bright red hung upside down from the beam of the Wang family's house, his legs spread apart and suspended in the middle of the beam. His hands dangled in the air, and his face was turned toward the door, a large copper needle piercing through the center of his forehead. Dark red blood continuously dripped down along the needle, eventually splattering onto the ground. 0

"Plop, plop..." 0

The sound of blood dripping sent chills down our spines. The boy's eyes remained wide open, staring directly at us, filled with youthful rage as if he were accusing the world of its unfairness towards him. 0

Who could be so cruel as to harm a child like this? 0

In his red clothing, with the soul-piercing needle atop his head, who bore such a deep grudge against the Wang family that they would go so far as to cut off their lineage? 0

"Is it frightening?" 0

A voice suddenly echoed in the air, startling both me and Shangguan Mingyue as we huddled together, cautiously scanning our surroundings. 0

"Who is it?" 0

"Show yourself!" 0

I and Shangguan Mingyue spoke at the same time. 0

Then, a shadow appeared before us. 0

A face, haggard and with a pointed chin, revealed a pair of dull, lifeless eyes. 0

I was shocked. How could he have become like this? 0

I had only left the village for a little over a month, and that chubby Uncle Wang had turned into this lecherous, twisted old man before me. 0

"You’re surprised to see me, aren’t you, Gu Family Girl? This is all your doing, do you know that?" 0

He shouted angrily at me, but then his aged voice choked up. He looked at me silently, and two lines of tears fell from his dull eyes. 0

His trembling finger pointed at me, then at the child hanging above. 0

"It’s all because of you. Do you understand what he has become because of you?" 0

Because of me. 0

I hadn’t done anything. Why was it because of me? 0

I felt completely bewildered. "Uncle Wang, I don’t understand what you mean." 0

"You troublemaker," 0

he cursed at me while trying to rush over to hit me, 0

but was stopped by Shangguan Mingyue. "What do you think you're doing, you old fool?" 0

He paused and sneered, 0

"Hmph, Gu Family Girl, can't find your parents, can you?" 0

His words snapped me back to reality. I rushed over and grabbed the old man by the collar. 0

"Where are my parents?" 0
