Suddenly, Shangguan Mingyue shouted loudly towards the sky, "I am a disciple of the Jade Sun True Person, the 138th generation leader of the Xuan Sect. I request your assistance."
Then, a mass of black mist slowly condensed in front of me, and an incredibly ugly Male Ghost appeared before us. He stared at Shangguan Mingyue with a face full of Yin Qi and coldly said, "I will grant you three questions for the duration of an incense stick."
Without wasting any time, Shangguan Mingyue began to ask her questions.
"First, how many ghosts are in this house?"
I saw a number slowly emerge from the green smoke above the incense; it seemed there were two souls here.
"Second, do these ghosts have a grudge against the owner of the house?"
The green smoke above the incense shook and then straightened up. I didn't understand its meaning and could only wait for Shangguan Mingyue to interpret it.
"Third, what about the demonic energy in this house?"
The green smoke condensed into the character for "snake," then abruptly dissipated.
The mass of black mist vanished as well, and Shangguan Mingyue collapsed. I rushed to help her up and wanted to ask her something, but she rolled her eyes and fainted.
Now it was my turn to panic. What should I do? Face these ghosts alone?
As night fell, the surrounding Yin Qi grew heavier, and a gust of wind swept through. The talismans stuck to the woman and boy's heads were all blown away. The woman, who had been tied to a chair, suddenly broke free and stood up, followed by the boy.

Her hands had transformed into sharp claws, aiming to grab my shoulder in an instant.
I leaped to evade her, but I forgot to guard against the ghost behind me. It took a bite out of my calf, causing me to grimace in pain.

I dared not use Shiro directly to stab these two, as they were currently possessed by ghosts, not merely spirits. If I plunged Shiro into their bodies, they might end up losing their lives as well.
I quickly formed a gesture and aimed it at the boy, but he dodged with a leap. I swiftly grabbed the Black Dog Blood from the table and lunged at him.
Immediately, smoke began to rise from the top of his head as he writhed in agony on the ground.
The female ghost went mad with rage and lunged at me. In a moment of urgency, I could only swing Shiro at her. I managed to slice her wrist, causing a hissing sound as steam escaped.
In an instant, both ghosts had been injured by me, which surprisingly boosted my confidence.
What I didn’t expect was for the female ghost to sever her own arm with a swift motion, blood gushing forth. I felt as if she wore a mocking smile on her face as she looked at me.
This body belonged to Boss Wang's wife; it had nothing to do with this female ghost. Her actions were clearly a threat directed at me.
She was angry, and I was even angrier. I charged forward with Shiro in hand.
The female ghost stood still, and a thick black smoke began to rise from her, emitting a foul stench that made my nose wrinkle.
Worried that the black smoke might be toxic, I had no choice but to stop and cover my nose. After a moment, I slowly began to discern what lay beneath the black smoke.
It was strange; the woman's lower body had transformed into that of a large snake.
The dark green tail, adorned with black and white patterns, left me in a daze. Could it really be a Snake Spirit? Was there truly such a thing in this world?
As I stood there in shock, the snake tail swept towards me. I tried to dodge, but my movements felt as slow as a sloth.
Why was this happening? Panic surged within me. Was the black smoke slowing down my speed?
I fell to the side, attempting to get back up, but the woman wouldn’t give me the chance.
The snake tail coiled around me, wrapping tightly several times and lifting me into the air.
The tail continued to constrict, my body being squeezed and contorted. Breathing became increasingly difficult; it felt like my chest might explode, and the bones in my body were being painfully twisted by the tail.
My hands were trapped within the coils of the snake tail, rendering them completely immobile. The Shiro on my wrist slipped from my grasp and fell to the ground.
I lowered my head, desperately trying to reach for the Bone Whistle at my chest with my tongue, silently calling out Mu Xuanche's name. She was the only one I could think of who might save me.
My tongue slowly inched toward the Bone Whistle, but it seemed the female spirit noticed my movement and hurled me toward a nearby pillar.
At the moment of impact with the pillar, I heard a crackling sound from my bones as a mouth ful of blood sprayed from my lips.
It seemed several ribs would be broken.
Ignoring the blood filling my mouth, I forced the Bone Whistle into my mouth and blew it with all my might.
The woman approached me again; this time, her snake tail lifted me and brought me closer to the boy.
The boy looked at me, his eyes filled with greed and excitement, as I weakly rested on the serpent's tail.
He extended his tongue to lick the blood from my face, as if savoring some delicious treat with satisfaction.
For me, there was only extreme disgust. I silently prayed for Mu Xuanche to arrive quickly. If he didn't come soon, I would end up like that half-eaten cow, becoming this boy's meal.
Suddenly, a burst of golden light shattered the darkness, sweeping through with an overwhelming force.
I smiled quietly; Mu Xuanche had finally arrived.
The chilling aura around us pushed the two back. He slowly walked towards me, Easily Water furrowing his brow, his face cold and his expression unusually grave.
He silently gathered me into his arms. I dared not look at him as he lowered his head, my body aching all over.
"Am I just a breeze in your ears?" Mu Xuanche's icy voice echoed above me.
The female ghost seemed to show some fear of Mu Xuanche, holding the boy back and refusing to approach.
Mu Xuanche fixed his gaze on the female ghost, his voice as cold as the most frigid river water from a glacier. "Did you hurt her?"
"I can let you take her away, but you must promise not to interfere with what happens here."
It was laughable that the female ghost dared to negotiate with Mu Xuanche. I silently mourned for her; given Mu Xuanche's temperament, those who dared to make deals with him rarely ended well.
Sure enough, Mu Xuanche gave the female ghost a cold smile. Without wasting words, he waved his hand, and she was sent crashing against a pillar by a powerful wave of energy.
That impact, I could guarantee, was several times more painful than what I felt.
Mu Xuanche grasped the boy in his palm and pulled him closer, forcing him to open his mouth.
"Is she someone you can bite?"
I watched as, at the moment Mu Xuanche's words fell, the boy's teeth began to pop out one by one, clattering to the ground.
Seeing the boy in trouble, the female ghost charged angrily at Mu Xuanche, who set me down on a nearby sofa.
With a flick of his hand, he hurled the boy towards the female ghost, a cold smirk of mockery on his face.
The female ghost, furious, rushed towards Mu Xuanche with her long hair flying wildly, her face contorted into a grotesque mask of rage.
Her serpent-like tail swung like a massive club towards Mu Xuanche. My heart leaped into my throat; I was worried for him.
Suddenly, a sword appeared in Mu Xuanche's hand, glinting silver as he swung it at the female ghost.
In an instant, her serpent tail and body were severed in two. The female ghost let out a scream and collapsed to the ground.
Mu Xuanche slowly approached her as she cast one last glance at the boy.
A swirl of black smoke emerged, leaving only the unconscious woman and child on the ground.
Mu Xuanche came over and picked me up. I asked him if the female ghost and the boy had escaped, and he nodded.
However, he assured me that he had severed the female ghost's malevolence, making it impossible for her to cause trouble for now. As long as we found her lair and performed a rite to guide her away, everything would be fine.
I finally felt relieved and nodded. As I turned my body, a sharp pain shot through my chest as if it were about to explode.
I bared my teeth as Mu Xuanche placed his hand on my chest and sighed, "You always end up covered in injuries."
He gently lowered my eyelids, and when I woke up again, I found myself in a hospital.
The first person I saw upon opening my eyes was Shangguan Mingyue, not Mu Xuanche. Had he left?

Since Shangguan Mingyue had seen Mu Xuanche, it meant he had come to the hospital. I turned to her and asked, "Where is he?"
"Your Underworld Husband brought you to the hospital and handed you over to me. He went out to find something and then left, telling me to take good care of you."
Mu Xuanche went out to find something; what could it be?
He actually left me alone in the hospital. My inner feelings of dissatisfaction began to rise.
"Alright, don’t overthink it. You’re still injured. The doctor said you have a broken rib; you need to rest well."
I knew about my broken rib, but what about the Wang family?

As he spoke, he placed two stacks of cash on the table, making Shangguan Mingyue's eyes light up with excitement.
