Staring at the wound on my hand, I suddenly felt a wave of dizziness wash over me, and the objects around me began to spin. 0

I sensed something was off and struggled to keep myself upright, leaning in to see what was biting me. 0

Just then, as I got closer, a furry creature darted out from a hole, lunging towards my neck. 0

Silver fangs glinted in the darkness. 0

It tried to bite me, but I turned my head just in time to dodge it, and it crashed into the ground beside me. 0

Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed a dagger lying beneath where it had been hiding. I snatched it up, thinking it might serve as protection. 0

Turning around, I locked eyes with the creature that had just attacked me. 0

Thanks to the light from outside, I could finally see it clearly—it was a Yellow Weasel. 0

The Yellow Weasel is what everyone calls it; in our village, we all refer to it as the Yellow Weasel. 0

This sneaky little thief has a notorious reputation for raiding the chickens kept by Farmers. The worst part is that it likes to kill all the chickens at once, draining their blood before slowly devouring them. 0

To make matters worse, Yellow Weasels are social animals. If you kill one, the rest will come rushing in. They have a good memory and can hold a grudge for life. The Farmers in our village know this well; when they encounter one, they usually try to scare it away rather than kill it—otherwise, they’ll face dire consequences. 0

Having failed its ambush on me, the Yellow Weasel now crouched in the corner by the wall, seemingly ready to pounce at any moment. 0

I gripped the dagger tightly in my hand. As a girl who had never even killed a chicken, I was only holding the dagger for self-defense against the Yellow Weasel. 0

Suddenly, the Yellow Weasel dashed from the corner and disappeared from sight. 0

I let out a deep breath; it seemed I had finally made my escape. 0

With the Yellow Weasel nowhere in sight, I took the opportunity to examine the cave. Aside from the dagger I had just retrieved, there was nothing else inside. 0

It appeared that Liu Qingfeng wanted me to take this item. Now, I needed to hurry back; this cursed place was too eerie to linger in. 0

Chirp! Chirp! 0

I suddenly froze, my body stiffening. 0

What was making that sound? It resembled a mouse. Having seen plenty of mice in the village, I recognized that this noise, although similar, was much louder than any mouse's call. 0

The grass outside rustled, and I quickly stepped out to investigate. 0

Upon seeing what was there, a chill ran down my spine. 0

This was it; it seemed I was destined to become a midnight snack. 0

Outside the door were countless green eyes, a dark mass of Yellow Weasels. 0

The light was too dim for me to count how many there were, but judging by the commotion, there must have been at least twenty or thirty of them. 0

Having disturbed the Yellow Weasel's nest, I only had a dagger in hand. My heart sank as my mind turned to mush, unable to think clearly. 0

Leading the pack was a much larger Yellow Weasel than the others. It stood upright on its hind legs, glaring at me with an imposing demeanor. 0

Through its eyes, I seemed to see my own panicked reflection. 0

Slowly, I heard a voice beside me, a majestic man's voice. He was there. 0

"How dare you harm my son and take my treasure! You must pay with your life!" 0

In the midst of confusion, I quickly protested, "I didn't do it." 0

The voice grew angrier, a chill emanating from it. "Didn't you? Then what is that in your hand?" 0

I looked down to see a rusted dagger in my grasp, which somehow was considered a treasure. Don't joke with me. 0

"Prepare to die!" 0

After the voice shouted at me, my vision blurred, and I saw a whole swarm of Yellow Weasels charging toward me. 0

I turned and ran, but the first Yellow Weasel that lunged at me bit down on my leg. 0

The pain caused me to fall to the ground, and as soon as I did, the Yellow Weasels swarmed over me. 0

They relentlessly tore at my clothes, their sharp teeth sinking into my flesh. 0

I could barely resist, only able to flail my arms in desperation. 0

In the chaos, I felt something hard on the ground. I cleared away some debris and discovered it was the Bone Whistle that Mu Xuanche had given me. Remembering his words, I disregarded the disgusting nature of the Bone Whistle and put it in my mouth, blowing into it with all my might. 0

I kept shouting Mu Xuanche's name in my heart, hoping that this Male Ghost, who had been haunting me, would come to save me just once. 0

Moments later! 0

Whoosh... 0

A fierce wind howled past, and a loud shout echoed through the air: "Get lost!" 0

The Yellow Weasels that had been clinging to me suddenly vanished. I hurriedly reached up to push aside the messy hair from my face. 0

There stood Mu Xuanche in front of me. His extraordinarily handsome face softened the moment he saw me, and he bent down to help me up. 0

In that instant, I felt an unprecedented tenderness. 0

My clothes had been torn apart by the Yellow Weasels, and my body was covered in wounds except for my face, causing tears to stream down from the pain. 0

As Mu Xuanche reached out to stroke my head, memories of everything that had happened today flooded back, and I could no longer hold back. 0

With a cry of "Wow..." I threw myself into his arms and began to sob uncontrollably. 0

I felt his hand gently patting my back, as if trying to comfort me. 0

"Who hurt my woman? Step forward." 0

A cold voice filled with dominance came from above me. Even while hiding in his embrace, I could sense the chilling aura radiating from him. 0

I didn't dare to cry anymore, turning my head to look at the group of Yellow Weasels. 0

The once imposing leader of the Yellow Weasels was now lying on the ground, its tail tucked in. The other Yellow Weasels behind it were huddled together in fear. 0

I looked up to observe Mu Xuanche; his face was dark and stormy, the cold light in his eyes had transformed into two swords, fixed on the leader of the Yellow Weasels as he spoke. 0

"Annihilate your clan, or hand them over. Choose." 0

In an instant, I could see the fur of the leading Yellow Weasel dulling significantly. It turned back and called out to the others behind it. 0

Then, seven or eight Yellow Weasels stepped forward, standing at the front. 0

Mu Xuanche's lips curled coldly; one arm wrapped around me while the other gestured toward the Yellow Weasels. 0

"Ah, no..." 0

I was a moment too slow. In an instant, those seven or eight Yellow Weasels that had stepped forward fell lifelessly before me. 0

Some didn't even have time to close their eyes, staring blankly at me as if I were the one who had killed them. 0

I turned around and pushed Mu Xuanche away, glaring at him as I questioned, "Why did you kill them?" 0

"They dared to touch you; they deserved to die!" 0

Mu Xuanche's voice was icy and devoid of warmth, as if what had just happened had nothing to do with him at all. 0

Evil Spirit, indeed it was Evil Spirit. To him, so many lives were as insignificant as straw. I began to fear him; the two times he had saved me had given me a bit of fondness for him, but now, with his deathly demeanor, I felt a deep sense of dread. 0

I quietly took a few steps back, increasing the distance between us. 0

Mu Xuanche noticed my movement. He nodded and stared at me, his voice cold as he asked, "Are you afraid of me?" 0

My hands trembled behind my back. I truly was afraid of him, but I didn’t dare to answer. What if my response displeased him? Would he then wave his hand and send me to my doom? 0

With a slight tremor, I shook my head. 0

He seemed to find me quite helpless. Coldly, he said, "If you don’t kill them, they will eat you." 0

Eat me! 0

Suddenly, it dawned on me. I had been so focused on feeling sympathy for the dead Yellow Weasel that I had forgotten how they had mercilessly bitten into my flesh despite my cries for mercy just moments ago. 0

I lowered my head, not daring to look at Mu Xuanche. He had just saved me, and yet I had blamed him—how ungrateful of me. 0

"What are you doing here?" 0

Hearing him speak to me, I quickly looked up and blurted out, "I came to get some hair from you." 0

The moment the words left my mouth, I wanted to slap myself. How could I be so foolish? 0

Liu Qingfeng had clearly instructed me to sneakily cut his hair, yet here I was, directly revealing my purpose. Was there any other word for it but foolish? 0

"Oh." A glint of cunning flashed in his eyes when he replied, so quick that I almost thought it was an illusion. 0

"What are you still standing there for? You wanted my hair, right? Come and take it." 0

I dazedly stepped forward, took a handful of hair from my head, and cut it off with a dagger. 0

I put it in my pocket, secured it, and then said to him, "I'm leaving now." 0

"Go ahead." 0

Mu Xuanche glanced at my right hand, and I understood his meaning. I was gripping the Bone Whistle he had given me in my right hand; he wanted me to contact him if anything happened. 0

After bidding farewell to Mu Xuanche, I sprinted back to Liu Qingfeng's Shack, completely disregarding the pain in my body. 0

In the dark of night, I was worried something might go wrong. 0

The moment I saw Liu Qingfeng, I stuffed the handful of hair and the dagger into his hands. 0

"Here, everything is here. It's all yours." 0

Liu Qingfeng looked surprised to see me back. "You're not injured." 0

"How could I not be injured? I'm covered in wounds..." 0

As I lowered my head to show this annoying Taoist my injuries, I choked on my words. All the wounds on my body had vanished. The only one remaining was the first bite from the Yellow Weasel on the back of my hand; everything else had disappeared. 0

What happened? The wound that was clearly hurting just a moment ago has suddenly vanished, and my clothes are perfectly fine. Could it be Mu Xuanche? 0

Liu Qingfeng shifted his gaze and asked me while holding something, "Forget it, that's not important. I want to know, did you cut this hair from Mu Xuanche's head?" 0

Although I didn't secretly cut it off, it was indeed hair from Mu Xuanche's head. I nodded in confirmation. 0

Liu Qingfeng nodded back at me with satisfaction. "You can go back now." 0

I was somewhat surprised and couldn't understand what Liu Qingfeng was up to. Gathering my courage, I asked, "Is that all?" 0

"Yes, you all can rest now. Gu, when you hear the first crow of the rooster tomorrow morning, get up and come find me at my house. Remember to be on time; you can't be late." 0

I had no idea what Liu Qingfeng was planning. I had been forced to do several things he instructed before, and knowing that resisting was futile, I agreed. 0

"Alright, Daoist, I understand." 0
