As they looked at the situation, everyone instinctively took a deep breath and hurried over to the pile of ashes on the ground. Just then, they felt a chill breeze blowing from behind them. 0

"Is it not over yet?" Ross cursed. 0

"Ah, there should be two more waves. The next opponents will be even tougher. Xiong Tai was injured at this critical moment," Duan Shuai replied. 0

Everyone immediately turned their gaze towards him, surprised that he had finally regained consciousness. Expressions of astonishment were evident on each face. Another cold gust swept through, creating an unsettling feeling as if they were being watched by something sinister. 0

Without hesitation, several of them positioned themselves back to back. Duan Shuai was applying medicine to his palm again. Although he hadn't exerted himself much during this wave, he had accidentally reopened a wound that was still bleeding. Thankfully, it seemed that no tendons or bones had been harmed. 0

Meanwhile, Ross had taken out a rare gene combination potion and began applying it to his palm. New skin gradually formed under the visible effects of the potion. Although its thickness was uncertain and might tear with force, it appeared sufficient to hold up for a while given the current situation. 0

They took a moment to rest while Duan Shuai reloaded his ammunition. He had plenty of supplies, but now there wasn't much left. If they continued like this, they might exhaust their remaining ammunition in the next wave. The rocket launcher had the most rounds available, followed by the Sniper Rifle, which might prove more effective against the Bone Spirit army than nothing at all. 0

Suddenly, the spirits suspended in midair began to multiply, slowly transforming into four fierce black gusts of wind. These winds coalesced into a black vortex that revealed a skeletal head beneath layers of transformation. Compared to the previous skeleton, this one appeared even more grotesque—four iron-colored skulls with bone structures resembling mutated fetuses but with a hardness surpassing that of the Red Skeleton. 0

Perhaps there were still many abilities yet to be unleashed from this creature. However, Duan Shuai remained unfazed as he picked up a gun from the ground and fired upwards. The Sniper Rifle's power was formidable; it created a gap in the swirling black mist with one shot. 0

Yet this did not hinder the development of the skeleton; it felt like something insidiously cunning was at play. Before its true size could manifest, it had already been shot at by Duan Shuai. One could only imagine how frustrated it must feel—having been struck without knowing why or for what purpose. 0

The black wind continued to swirl ominously, combining parts of that area into a powerful storm below. Although the Sniper Rifle kept firing relentlessly from below, it could not prevent the monster above from continuously gathering dark energy. 0

"Enough wasting bullets! Don’t you realize we’ll need them for other situations? Let’s wait for them to complete their transformation. We should take a break; it looks like we have about ten minutes left," Freyr said as he approached, pressing down on the slightly heated barrel of the Sniper Rifle before patting Duan Shuai on the shoulder. 0

"That's right, it's this thing that injured Xiong Tai. Their weapons are bone spears, powerful enough that even Alchemical Weapons can't inflict a scratch," Duan Shuai trembled, as if recalling a painful memory. 0

It was a tragic recollection; in that moment, he felt like a useless dog, cowering behind Xiong Tai. Aside from occasionally firing a black gun to take down the approaching bone army, all the defense was solely handled by Xiong Tai. 0

He lacked the bravery he had just shown; otherwise, Xiong Tai wouldn't be in such a dire state. The situation was indeed grim, though it bore some resemblance to what he had experienced. 0

They sat on the ground. Freyr had exhausted quite a bit of energy earlier and quickly drank some sports drink to regain his spirits. The situation improved slightly as he checked the soft armor beneath his clothing. Some areas were merely scuffed, and the inner layer remained intact. However, if things continued to develop this way, he would have no means to withstand those black iron skeletons; it was becoming increasingly difficult. 0

There was still a chance to get up; his speed could likely hold out for a while longer. Freyr had confidence in his endurance—he could sprint like an Ultimate athlete and had been training himself with marathon standards. Most people his age would see their physical capabilities decline, but Freyr had once secretly undergone a sweat gland removal surgery, resulting in significantly less perspiration; he might not even sweat at all. 0

Thus, he felt that rare opportunities to engage with such powerful beings were worth risking his life for; it could lead to a qualitative leap for him, something seldom found elsewhere. 0

He still didn't understand why he had lost his memory; even now, he couldn't grasp the reason behind it. In this situation, he had no choice but to consume the special drink he had prepared for himself, feeling his vitality returning significantly. 0

A cold sensation washed over him again. To others, it might feel like a refreshing breeze, but with Freyr's heightened senses, he realized it wasn't just wind—it was an intense gaze filled with murderous intent. 0

After what felt like an eternity, that dark wind suddenly surged downwards. Four shadows gradually appeared not far away—figures as solid as steel, with black muscles resembling those of Red Skeletons but in a striking black-gold hue. Their bone spears were white and looked incredibly sharp, sending chills down his spine. 0

Seeing this, Freyr shouted and transformed into a streak of light as he charged forward with his blade raised. 0

The four skeletons moved simultaneously; their long spears descended like black lightning. Freyr instinctively dodged slightly as his Dual Daggers swung downwards. 0

"Bang!" 0

A hit to the head caused no injury at all. The skeleton shook its head, feeling a bit out of sorts; after all, that seemed to be its weak point. The current situation sent a chill through Freya, and upon seeing this, Freyr shouted and transformed into a streak of light, charging forward with his blade drawn. 0
