After a series of attacks, these skeletons didn't seem very frightening anymore; they had already been cleared out in one wave. 0

"Ugh, I didn't expect them to be so fragile. I should have just used regular arrows from the start," Ross's voice echoed, sounding somewhat displeased as he thought about the Alchemical Arrow, looking as if he felt tricked for a long time. 0

Although Freyr had provided him with a large supply of bullets for the Grim Reaper Weasel to use up, he found it troublesome. The pistol's range wasn't as close as he had imagined, and it took a bunch of bullets to take down a single skeleton, which was quite inconvenient. In contrast, using the Sunshoot Bow allowed for a single arrow to deliver force and penetration over a straight-line range, maximizing efficiency. Only powerful rapid-fire weapons like the Destroyer or Terminator could create a sense of intimidation with their bullet frequency. 0

After clearing out the area, the ground was littered with skeletons. The eyes of those skeletons glowed with purple flames of Spirit Fire, flickering ominously. Suddenly, amidst the shadows, a large mass of darkness swayed and emerged. At that moment, both of them inhaled sharply. 0

"Oh my god, what on earth is this?" The skeletons suddenly looked different from before; the bones that had been white now appeared greenish. They seemed much more formidable than before—what had started as a warm-up now felt serious. Freyr quietly sipped some solid water tablets to replenish his hydration. 0

"Damn it, their appearance has changed! Why are the bones green? Have they rotted or transformed?" 0

Seeing this, Freyr spat out the water he had just taken. The figures before them looked terrifying but were not too different from before; only the color of the bones had changed to a sickly green. Through the flickering Spirit Flame in their eye sockets, they were soon met with an overwhelming roar that pierced their ears—a truly mind-shattering sound. 0

"What is that noise? Ahhh!" 0

"I don't know! Just be quiet; it's so annoying!!!" 0

The continuous rumbling echoed around them as Freyr picked up the Grim Reaper Weasel from the ground and began firing rapidly. The bullets struck the Azure Skeleton with loud cracks; each shot only managed to create minor fractures in its bones without silencing it. Then one of its leg bones shattered under gunfire, and Spirit Flame drifted out from its eye sockets, slowly sinking into the ground. 0

It was unclear what was happening, but it seemed that these bones were much harder than those of the previous batch. The earlier skeletons had been incredibly fragile; bullets could shatter their bones completely. However, this new batch was clearly beyond what mere bullets could withstand. 0

The number of skeletons was still considerable, though at least half were missing compared to before. However, there were still plenty left. It seemed that using bullets was not a viable option, even though there were still many rounds remaining. Even the Submachine Gun might not be effective. Unfortunately, there was no Gatling gun or a heavy-caliber weapon like the Terminator to suppress them; otherwise, this situation would have been much easier to handle. 0

As they approached, the Azure Skeleton Army slowly advanced, chanting an incredibly nauseating incantation. With each step forward, a deep pain throbbed in their heads, and those with weak Willpower might even resort to banging their heads against something. 0

"Using earplugs is pointless; they attack directly at the brain, not just through sound. They don't even vibrate their tongues—do you think that's how they make noise? This is too sinister; it's normal to be scared. I'm almost in tears. Damn it, we still have to wait for Xiong Tai and Awakening to arrive. He can't exert himself too much right now, although I already know how to get out of here." 0

Freyr awkwardly called out as the Aterkan Longsword slowly moved from his ring into his palm with the help of his Willpower. His Dual Daggers crossed together; despite his complaints, he was ready to fight these creatures to the death. 0

"Speaking of which, I'm the one in trouble here. I need you to hold the line for me. Do you still have enough stamina?" Ross asked. 0

"I still have enough. I just broke a sweat earlier and saved plenty of strength. After all, against opponents of that level, I didn't hesitate at all when I struck. But this time, our opponents are tough. Just look at the results from earlier's gunfire," Freyr said, shaking his head vigorously but continuing on. Even though he felt exhausted at this moment, he knew he had to keep fighting. He truly regretted not exchanging for a large-caliber weapon. 0

"Oh right! I have an idea. How many High-Explosive Grenades do you have?" Ross suddenly turned around and smiled at him. 0

"High-Explosive Grenades? What do you need those for? I have about a dozen left... uh, let me think... maybe around ten? Those are my prized collection! What if I run into a more dangerous situation later?" Freyr replied somewhat confused. 0

"What situation could be worse than this? Look at our current predicament; this might not be the last wave we face. The next opponents we encounter will probably be even harder to deal with. What if we exhaust ourselves here?" Ross shouted. 0

"Oh okay! Here you go; is this enough? Just ten—at least leave one for yourself," Freyr said. 0

Ross gritted his teeth and muttered angrily, "Fine! One left it is!" 0

He snatched nine grenades from Freyr's hands, quickly pulled the pins, and threw them one by one. A thunderous explosion erupted, followed by a series of agonizing screams from the skeletons. The Azure Skeletons emitted howls from who knows where and were blown apart by the heat released from the grenades, their bones shattering into pieces. 0

The power of Modern Weapons was undeniably formidable. Those bones, it was unclear how they had been revived; perhaps it was some form of technology, or maybe the ability of Medium Transference, or even the Alchemical Matrix. Upon closer inspection, there were no suspicious scents detected, nor any frequencies blocked by the Alchemical Matrix. 0

It seemed that this place was not as simple as it appeared. Perhaps their attention was too divided, which had weakened their perceptive abilities. 0

As I pondered this, the situation continued to unfold. Suddenly, an Azure Skeleton that was relatively close accelerated towards us with an abrupt dash. Its speed was alarming. Ross, having discarded all his High-Explosive Grenades, cursed under his breath and drew his longbow. In an instant, he nocked an arrow and released it. 0

"Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!" 0

The arrow flew out at a steep angle with incredible speed. Then something strange happened: the arrowhead used was a standard one, a Cold Iron Arrowhead, made from a blend of iron and copper. It felt just like before, yet the Feather passed through the skeleton's body without resistance. 0

To my surprise, the force generated was less than half of what we had achieved earlier. Most of our previous shots had swept cleanly through a linear range with arrows. Now, as the Feather penetrated one Azure Skeleton's body, it seemed to lose all kinetic energy after passing through three of them. 0
