As he came into contact with the lava layer, he initially did not feel the intense heat he had imagined. 0

"Whoosh!" 0

Submerged in the fiery red liquid, which felt as sticky as oil, it was truly uncomfortable to touch. However, as his body continued to sink under the influence of gravity, Ross soon saw an island bobbing beneath the surface. 0

He continued to sink deeper, feeling as if he had lost all sense of gravity. Beneath this viscous liquid, it seemed like his body had become completely motionless, devoid of any thoughts or exertion. 0

Yet he was indeed in a state of immobility, continuing to float downward until he finally encountered a pocket of air. At first, his feet met nothingness—a void—where only air circulated. The scene here gave off an inexplicable feeling; suddenly, his feet found nothing beneath him, and his upper body slowly squeezed out from that tranquil, sticky liquid. 0

"Ahhhhh!!!" 0

He let out a scream as he fell from this place, experiencing a sensation akin to plummeting from mid-air. Then he landed squarely on the island. 0

"Thud!" 0

A cloud of dust erupted as Ross hurriedly scrambled to his feet, only to be astonished to find that he was unhurt. This was truly strange. Moreover, he had indeed fallen to the ground in an unusual manner; he had spread his body flat before letting his legs drop down from shoulder height and forcefully pulling his head out of the dirt. 0

There were too many unclear aspects in his thoughts. The environment here felt almost like another world, yet it was evidently different. The viscous liquid he had encountered earlier appeared calm and lava-like from a distance; now, looking down from above, it resembled a vast expanse of red clouds suspended in mid-air. 0

"From above it looks like clouds, but below it resembles lava. This is such a strange place. Speaking of which, where did the Commander go? I clearly heard a voice coming from below just now; how could it suddenly go silent?" 0

As he pondered this perplexing situation, he quickly turned around to survey his surroundings. Not far away, he noticed a pit in the ground emanating a mysterious aura. Approaching it, he saw that there was also a humanoid-shaped indentation on the ground. 0

The pit must have been left here not long ago. The humanoid shapes on the ground gave off a particularly strange feeling. Some people walked over and noticed that the distance between the two figures was rather close. 0

However, he continued his search and found an upright body in a place that resembled a rock. Upon closer inspection, it looked like a humanoid figure. He rushed forward and screamed; this figure was none other than Freyr, the Commander of Hunter Team 116, who, like him, had his head down on the ground. 0

Moreover, it seemed that the soil here had changed compared to before; it appeared somewhat soft. As he approached, he noticed that the body was still struggling to jump out, as if trying to escape from within but had been exerting itself for quite some time. 0

He propped himself up with his hands against the edge of the pit, forcing open the layers of soil. Gradually, his head emerged from the pit. 0

There was nothing unusual about his head except for a bump on his forehead. In such a place, especially after falling headfirst and still being alive, it felt like an incredible stroke of luck. Perhaps it was due to their different training methods; their bones were indeed unlike those of ordinary humans, being over three times harder—essentially at the level of reinforced steel. 0

"Ugh, ugh, ugh, that was close; I almost suffocated." 0

Freyr's head popped out, and he quickly performed a backflip, landing steadily on the ground. 0

"Ah, you’ve come down to keep me company," he continued. 0

"Cough cough, Commander, I hope your head isn’t damaged; it looks fine," Ross replied. There were indeed many differences between them in terms of abilities, but Ross's mood wasn’t very pleasant; his expression was as hard as stone. 0

Freyr squinted slightly, looking as if he had been poisoned, grinning wider than anyone else. 0

"Cough cough, don’t mind me. Speaking of this place, I’ve encountered similar scenarios in strategies before. I’ve read some of the initial stories, but I couldn’t understand much of what came later because the leaps were too great. However, ever since I fell here, everything about the plot suddenly made sense to me, and all the clues connected at once," Freyr exclaimed joyfully. 0

"So falling headfirst helped you expand your Thinking. The soil here is surprisingly soft and seems to have a refreshing effect on the mind. Have we become so powerful that no mundane thing can harm us anymore?" Ross continued. 0

"That's not quite right. The matter here is very different from that in our world. For instance, the gravity here feels much stronger than what we experience outside; it feels like I'm in a state of weightlessness." 0

"This isn't a good sign. It reminds me of the underground research base I used to frequent during my school days. Getting there required going through several decontamination processes, which felt like they were trying to drain every drop of moisture from my body." Freyr suddenly recalled some unpleasant memories, his expression reflecting his helplessness. 0

"Uh, but let's get back to the point, Commander. What exactly is this place? Is there any information about it in the guide?" Ross asked. 0

"This is a paradise," Freyr shook his head and continued. 0

"I must have misheard you. A paradise? How can this place be called a paradise? Are you saying that because the clouds above are red and partially pink? That's quite an odd way to name a place." The person beside them continued to critique. 0

It's not unusual for names to not correlate with the scene, but this time it seemed significantly different. Both of them thought about it, shaking their heads without any other response. After arriving here, they felt that it truly was a strange place, but they didn't notice any other differences. 0

"Actually, the book mentions that many unusual events occurred here when the predecessors visited. There were also some unpleasant incidents, though the specifics aren't detailed in the text. This place seems quite sinister, and we should leave as soon as possible," Freyr said with an awkward smile. 0

"Yes, just looking at the terrain makes it clear that this is an incredibly desolate area," Ross replied. "I hope the others are okay. If they fell down here, who knows if they can make it back up? There are still many places above that we haven't explored yet. Falling down here would mean facing the same fate as our predecessors. So I think it's better to head back up." 0
