The exercise was nearing its end, and the Crimson Dragon Army had undergone a significant reshuffle. However, it was not that the Crimson Dragon Army could not resist fiercely; in fact, compared to other Special Forces, their resistance and defense were the most formidable. Even General Romeo personally commanded the troops, demonstrating how crucial this exercise was to every soldier in the Crimson Dragon Army. They treated it as if it were more important than life itself because a soldier's honor outweighed everything else, even if it meant fighting to the last man. 0

This exercise concealed an unknown victory rule: first, eliminate the highest-ranking commander. Within the Crimson Dragon Army, that was undoubtedly Abel Romeo, known as the Crimson Dragon. Even in all of Noah's Sanctuary, there were probably no more than ten people who could match him in skill. The second rule was to capture the battalion flag. In a camp so tightly guarded that not even a fly could enter, taking down the flag was far more challenging than defeating Abel Romeo. 0

Although the Crimson Dragon Army's resistance appeared particularly fierce, their opponents this time were a group of mysterious individuals. It was impossible for them to defeat any legion in direct confrontation. The Wolf Brigade and Lion-Tiger Legion were taken down one after another by these mysterious figures. Furthermore, both the Henggui Army and Falcon Army suffered heavy losses during intense battles; their commanders did not regard this exercise seriously but had mutual disdain for each other. Thus, only these two forces engaged in direct combat. Additionally, the Lion-Tiger Corps had even sent spies into the Crimson Dragon Army's camp to gather intelligence. 0

In the underground ruins of Ice Vault, Austin and Wei Xia witnessed firsthand the prowess of a commander who claimed to be from the Eagle Legion. Shortly thereafter, the entire Crimson Dragon Army faced a final brutal trial. After more than three hours of fierce competition, a secretive and powerful unit infiltrated their battalion headquarters. Despite being an elite force with top-tier soldiers, even they were utterly overwhelmed by this hidden unit. 0

At the forefront was a defensive battle at a circular perimeter. Abel Romeo stood atop a tower overlooking the camp, feeling a sense of dread as he watched what resembled a massacre unfold. Although he had intervened in the battle, he felt powerless and unable to make a difference. Ultimately, he regretted losing his position as the top commander when their flag was captured. 0

The Crimson Dragon Army had no other options left; their strategic deployment and high-intensity defense managed to hold off those shadow forces' frontal assaults. Although it required sacrificing lives in an inhumane manner, many members of that shadow unit withdrew from the exercise during this siege. 0

"We lost!" 0

Many officers whispered among themselves until one seasoned officer sighed dramatically, which drew forth even more lamentations. 0

After much debate among the officers, one person slammed his hand on the table and shouted angrily, "It's all those rookie soldiers who don't understand protocol! If they hadn't acted on their own initiative, we wouldn't have had to divert two squads away from our defenses. This would have given other units more opportunities for reinforcements instead of us being left to guard our position while our flag was taken down! What a disgrace!" 0

"The blame lies squarely on that rookie Platoon Leader named Freyr," another officer chimed in. "When he first arrived, I thought he had potential; he opened his Gene Chain at such a young age! I believed he would become a commanding leader one day. But who would have thought he'd cause trouble right when he hit the battlefield? While he's talented, I see many unstable factors in him. After we bring them back, we must impose severe punishment on him to uphold military discipline." 0

"Exactly! Old Ba is right; we must enforce strict penalties." An officer wearing glasses praised Old Ba while appearing somewhat refined yet lacking in character. He hesitated briefly before organizing his thoughts and continued, "There's also another Platoon Leader—Duan Shuai—who seems destined for staff work but has come up with an idea for a surprise attack! It's simply insulting! Besides, they're just rookies! Isn't Logistics Department busy enough? They let so many brothers go without supplies; that's dereliction of duty! I believe they should all be expelled from military service as an example." 0

"Enough! We've lost; what's the point of complaining?" General Romeo appeared particularly sorrowful. As one of the leading generals among eight renowned commanders in Noah's Sanctuary—mythologized figures among soldiers and officers alike—his words silenced all arguments at the table. The officers turned their heads toward a gaunt man sitting at the back with squinted eyes and a vacant expression. 0

"Everyone, let's take a moment to calm down. I have something to say," General Romeo sighed lightly. 0

"General, you know my character, Old Ba. I can be a bit impulsive and say things you might not want to hear. This time, he even took his superior, the head of the Logistics Department, hostage. A soldier without organization or discipline, if he were to go to battle, he would treat his comrades' lives as a joke. I even doubt he still possesses the spirit of a soldier." 0

Old Ba stood out among the crowd of silent officers, slamming his hand on the table and pointing at the head of the Logistics Department behind him. He spoke loudly and confidently, as if looking down on everyone. However, in Abel Romeo's eyes, this behavior was somewhat appropriate; after all, Old Ba's resources and rank in this military camp were far superior to those of ordinary officers, perhaps only slightly inferior to Abel Romeo himself. 0

Looking at Old Ba, Abel Romeo sighed again and said, "I am already reflecting on myself. As a soldier, it is essential to obey orders; that is the most basic duty. But once one becomes merely obedient, it can lead to a loss of judgment. Many soldiers regard those who cannot even follow orders as worthless trash. However, if one cannot observe the battlefield and understand the situation around them, then they are useless as a commander. They are even more despicable than those who simply fail to obey. Even without malicious intent, they deserve severe punishment. Freyr's actions of taking his superior hostage and leading troops away for an ambush show a lack of strategic awareness in terms of overall objectives. His behavior may be thoughtless, but it is ultimately aimed at achieving victory. Do you all agree with me?" 0
