Zhao Yang arrived at Back Mountain Fish Pond to find chaos unfolding. A water-like Flood Dragon was weaving through the crowd, while countless disciples were engaged in a fierce battle, scrambling to capture the elusive Jade Crawler. The creature moved like a flicker of light, narrowly escaping their grasp time and again. 0

Zhao Yang's heart sank as he spotted Situ Yan and Si Tu Bo lying pale and lifeless by the edge of the Fish Pond, their blood essence completely drained. A wave of sorrow washed over him, leaving him at a loss for words. 0

"You truly seek death, ruining my grand plans!" Zhao Yang's attention was drawn to a young man standing amidst the swirling sand and fallen leaves. It was Shiyunsheng, strikingly handsome with eyebrows like swords and a jawline as sharp as a blade. At that moment, he raised his right hand, dark energy radiating from it, as he aimed a powerful strike at the pale-faced Scholar Xiu, whose lips were stained with blood. 0

Out of nowhere, Long Xiao Wu appeared and delivered a punch that sent Shiyunsheng staggering back, saving Scholar Xiu in the process. Enraged, Shiyunsheng inhaled sharply, drawing Long Xiao Wu towards him as if caught in a black hole. 0

A palm struck Long Xiao Wu's chest, causing his face to turn ashen and the sound of cracking bones echoed through the air. 0

Zhao Yang rushed forward and pushed Shiyunsheng back five steps before catching the injured Long Xiao Wu. He felt an icy chill emanating from Long Xiao Wu's body as dark energy surged through his meridians. Zhao Yang channeled a trace of Chaos True Qi into Long Xiao Wu to counteract the strange black energy invading him. 0

Shiyunsheng gasped in surprise and glanced at Zhao Yang. "So you are the mastermind behind this. Truly remarkable! The emergence of the Jade Crawler is astonishing. I spent ten years ensuring it feasted on dragon corpses to achieve its current Dao Fruit. I also spent another decade setting up the Illusory Spirit Formation to block any anomalies, only to fall victim to a mere nobody!" 0

Zhao Yang raised an eyebrow and replied, "A nobody? And what makes you think you are someone significant?" 0

"My status is beyond your imagination; it's not something an ant like you can comprehend. No matter how many insignificant beings like you there are, you cannot stop me from claiming the Jade Crawler's inner core." 0

"What arrogance! How high could your status possibly be that I cannot fathom? At most, you're just a reincarnated celestial being or a descendant of some divine king. Do you think you embody the will of heaven? Or perhaps you're just some young master from a prominent family or relying on your connections with talented disciples from a Cultivation Sect? If that's all there is to it, then spare me your words." 0

Shiyunsheng's face flushed red with anger at Zhao Yang's retort. "Zhao Yang, I don't understand where you get the courage to explore the Eternal Flood Dragon Pond as a mere country bumpkin. I intended to take the Jade Crawler's inner core and then claim your life afterward. But now my plans have been thwarted by you lot! Why did you have to ruin my grand scheme after I endured for ten years without establishing my foundation just for this moment?" 0

The Master of the Myriad Spirits Sect and the elders above in the clouds exchanged astonished glances upon hearing Shiyunsheng's words. 0

"It is indeed the Jade Crawler—the legendary spirit beast known as the Jade Dragon!" 0

"What exactly is this Jade Crawler? Is it so powerful that it can be tamed as a mount or battle pet?" 0

"No, the Jade Crawler is a spirit beast capable of teleportation but has one weakness: it is inherently timid and possesses no offensive capabilities. Its inner core can reshape one's Spiritual Root, fundamentally altering a person's essence and allowing them to transcend ordinary cultivation stages—transforming them into Perfect Foundation cultivators with unparalleled talent. If it grows strong enough, it could become a giant in the Cultivation world." 0

"Is it really that exaggerated? Then Master, we..." 0

The Master of the Myriad Spirits Sect waved his hand and said, "The Grand Elder has forbidden us from intervening, so we shall not. This information must be kept under wraps. No matter who obtains the Jade Crawler's inner core, it must not be leaked; otherwise, there will be no mercy." 0

Several elders had initially wanted to join the fray for the opportunity, but upon hearing the sect leader's words, they tempered their desire to seize it. 0

Looking down at the crowd, Zhao Yang confronted Shiyunsheng. "I don't know if the Jade Crawler belongs to you, but whether to fight for it is my business!" His words were simple, domineering, and direct, with no hint of pretense or moral posturing. "The Jade Crawler is a natural creation of heaven and earth. Now that the Dao Fruit is complete and ready to leap through the dragon gate and break through the heavens, I have no objection if you wish to claim its fortune. However, since you are already aware that we have noticed your actions, you should either negotiate or take the initiative to engage. This isn't a matter of human sentiment; it's about how you conduct yourself. On my territory, I make the rules. How can I allow you to act recklessly? I, Zhao Yang, am an easygoing person; if my friends discover a treasure, even if it defies heaven itself, I won't compete with you for it. Yet you treat everyone with such disdain..." 0

"Who do you think you are?!" Shiyunsheng's scornful interruption cut Zhao Yang off. "I spare your life out of fear of trouble; someone like you is not worthy to speak with me." 0

Zhao Yang fell silent in response, unable to find words against those wealthy heirs who lived with a condescending attitude. 0

"It’s not the real body; just an illusion. The true form might still be underwater; this Flood Dragon possesses intelligence." Zhao Yang clearly saw the Flood Dragon's body slip past a disciple's clothing and thought as he exchanged blows with the approaching Shiyunsheng. 0

"You've turned things into this state and ruined ten years of my efforts; today you must pay with your lives," Shiyunsheng said coldly. 0

"Why not treat each other with respect? We can discuss this amicably. If you hadn't killed my two friends today, perhaps I could help you," Zhao Yang suggested. 0

"Do you think you're worthy?" That phrase again; Shiyunsheng looked at Zhao Yang as if he were an ant beneath his feet. 0

"Return my brother's life!" A thunderous purple lightning struck silently above Zhao Yang's head; it was Qin Lei, who had been observing the battlefield for an opportunity to strike. He realized that the Jade Crawler was not its true form and decided to attack Zhao Yang first. 0

Zhao Yang felt a splitting headache from the strike, his eyes bloodshot. He shook his neck, recalling many painful memories from his past life that had been buried deep within him. Unable to endure any longer while looking at Qin Lei, he whispered, "If you have the guts, come after me; let’s settle this in the Inner Courtyard." 0

"Fine, that's what you said!" Qin Lei sneered and turned to Shiyunsheng. "Shiyunsheng, I know you have some tricks up your sleeve. Ten years without establishing a foundation—so this is your grand scheme? This person killed my brother; I want revenge. You have no objections, right?" 0

Shiyunsheng remained expressionless and replied, "Go ahead; stop wasting time with unnecessary chatter. Don’t let yourself fall into a trap that leaves him laughing for eternity." He then fixed his gaze on Long Xiao Wu, who was still cultivating and recovering. 0

Long Xiao Wu slowly opened his eyes and exhaled a breath of foul air before saying to Zhao Yang, "You go ahead; I'll handle things here." 0

Zhao Yang nodded and looked at the increasingly large crowd as nine other Outer Sect disciples rushed toward them in a swift charge towards the Inner Courtyard. 0

Qin Lei sneered, "Even in death, one fears embarrassment; you must find a secluded place." With that, he flicked his long sleeves and followed. 0

After about the time it takes to burn an incense stick, Zhao Yang arrived at the entrance of an abandoned Alchemy Room. The path beside it was paved with Azure Stone Tablets, leading directly to the main hall of the Myriad Spirit Sect. At this moment, all the Inner Sect Disciples had gone to the Outer Sect's Fish Pond to seize treasures, leaving the entire Inner Courtyard deserted. Zhao Yang gazed up at the mist-shrouded, towering palace and suddenly felt like an ant. He sighed and said, "So this is the main hall of the Myriad Spirit Sect's Inner Courtyard." 0

A voice came from behind him; it was Qin Lei. "It's a pity you'll never get inside in this lifetime. I see this place is picturesque; you really know how to pick a spot. This was once the residence of an Elder Alchemist who passed away here more than a hundred years ago. Dying here wouldn't be a loss." 0

Zhao Yang felt puzzled, as if he had thought of something. He carefully observed the scenery around him and then looked at the Azure Stone path. Suddenly, he spotted a collapsed incense burner among the bushes beside the path, and his heart began to race. 0

"This is the hiding place of the Spirit Pearl." Zhao Yang turned to look at Qin Lei, who was hovering behind him with lightning in one hand and an ice dagger in the other, ready to strike. Zhao Yang sighed, "I was hoping for one last chance with you." 0

"But I don't want to give you that chance!" 0

"I'll turn you into a sheep." 0

The void twisted like mist or water. Suddenly, Qin Lei fell from midair to the ground; the lightning dissipated and the ice dagger clattered down. In his terrified gaze, Zhao Yang loomed larger. 0

"Bah~ Bah~" To his surprise, he found himself bleating like a sheep, his expression frozen in fear and confusion on the sheep's face. 0
