Long Xiao Wu nodded blankly as Zhao Yang quickly rummaged through the deceased Ma Qinghuai, pulling out two hundred Spirit Qi Pills and stuffing them into his own robe. He then extracted a few miscellaneous items from Ma Qinghuai's belongings, including a worn bronze compass, a Pill of Starvation Resistance, a scroll of the Ma Family Breathing Technique, some silver coins, and a golden bean.
"What are you doing?" Long Xiao Wu suddenly felt like a bandit.
"Of course we should loot after killing the monsters; our Spirit Qi Pills would be wasted in their hands."
"Oh." Long Xiao Wu felt like a novice compared to Zhao Yang's words, nodding vigorously like a chick pecking at grains. Following Zhao Yang, they arrived at the room of the sixteenth disciple. Zhao Yang repeated his actions, killing the slightly plump Wang Hu and searching him for Spirit Qi Pills. Next was the shorter and leaner Zhang De, followed by the dark-skinned Zheng Yishi. When Long Xiao Wu personally killed Guo Yuan, he exclaimed with a hint of excitement, "I killed someone! I really killed someone! But Zhao Yang, why do you have to rip their heads off?"
"It's nothing; I'm just afraid they aren't completely dead. It's also a sort of mark," Zhao Yang replied as he pulled another bag of Spirit Qi Pills from Guo Yuan's body. Feeling that his storage pouch was nearly full of Spirit Qi Pills, he stuffed this bag into Long Xiao Wu's robe but noticed an unusual look in Long Xiao Wu's eyes—tears were glistening in them.
"What's wrong, Fatty?" Zhao Yang asked with confusion.
"You aren't going to kill me too, are you? I don't care about these Spirit Qi Pills; I really consider you a brother."
"Come on, what nonsense are you talking about?" Zhao Yang lightly punched Long Xiao Wu, realizing that his actions had frightened his companion. After all, Long Xiao Wu was an innocent youth who had never encountered such brutality before. The act of ripping off heads was purely a personal preference; to any normal person, it would seem like the behavior of a psychopathic killer.
For a moment, Zhao Yang didn't know how to express himself. Despite Long Xiao Wu being bold, he was still an inexperienced child with two lifetimes of experience. After thinking for a moment, he pinched Long Xiao Wu's round face and said, "Being merciful to enemies is being cruel to oneself, Fatty. I, Zhao Yang, have always treated my enemies this way. But with friends, there’s no pretense at all. Since we met, have I ever kept any benefits from you?"
"That's true," Long Xiao Wu replied with a grin.
Zhao Yang shook his head and quietly approached the Twelfth Disciple Room. Seeing that Long Xiao Wu had returned to normalcy, he patted him on the shoulder and said, "After this one, it's time for Han Hai. This opportunity is yours; go for it. You can do it."
Long Xiao Wu shot Zhao Yang a disdainful glance and said, "Killing and arson isn’t exactly a good thing."
He gently knocked on the door twice, but there was no response from inside, unlike before. Long Xiao Wu looked at Zhao Yang with confusion, wondering if something was amiss. Zhao Yang shrugged and said, "Well, they must not be here."
"Could they be out using the restroom? Or are they with someone else?" Zhao Yang was equally puzzled. Aside from Han Hai, the other six were just Jiang Hao. Thinking of Jiang Hao's frail condition, Long Xiao Wu instinctively understood something and said, "Let's go find Han Hai directly. We can deal with Jiang Hao another day. Even if he learns tomorrow that the other six are dead, he can't do anything to us."
Long Xiao Wu nodded and quietly followed Zhao Yang as they approached Han Hai's disciples' quarters. Just as they got close, they heard faint cries coming from Han Hai's room. Zhao Yang immediately realized what was happening and, recalling the burly Han Hai and the weak Jiang Hao, he fell silent.
"Why does it sound so tragic? Is Han Hai torturing the new disciples?" Long Xiao Wu, naive and inexperienced in such matters, found it hard to believe. Zhao Yang peered through a crack in the window and felt his face flush; although he had experienced similar situations in his past life due to a teacher's dedication to humanity's continuation, he was still a virgin and had never witnessed such an unconventional scene.
"What’s going on? Did you hear that slapping sound and those cries? It sounds like someone is about to be killed! We should help him, Zhao Yang," Long Xiao Wu exclaimed, feeling a surge of righteousness as he stood on tiptoe to look inside.
"Uh..." Zhao Yang quickly pulled Long Xiao Wu back, his expression strange as he said, "I mean, brother, isn’t it a bit inhumane to kill Han Hai right now?"
Long Xiao Wu huffed and replied, "If you won't kill him, I will! You can hear that person's cries getting louder; clearly, they're suffering and about to be killed. Although we’re involved in some shady business ourselves, that’s their own doing. Killing them is justified, but we should save these innocent youths from being bullied and slaughtered!"
As he spoke, Long Xiao Wu pushed past Zhao Yang and prepared to kick open Han Hai's door. Zhao Yang couldn't stop him; he figured that someone as pure as Long Xiao Wu would likely have his worldview shattered upon witnessing two men together. Sighing inwardly, he decided it was best not to let this kid be led astray by bad influences. Thus, he secretly activated his powers to use the Peach technique.
"Transform you into sheep." The air around them shimmered as Zhao Yang caught sight of Jiang Hao lying on the bed; in a flash of light, he transformed into a little sheep with four hooves. However, the burly Han Hai standing by the bed showed no signs of change.
Could it be that the Seventy-Third Transformation could only turn one person into a sheep at a time? After learning the Seventy-Three Transformations technique during his encounters with the river clam spirit and Zhao Tenglong, he hadn’t used it again since then. He believed that the Transform into Sheep Technique was an unbeatable divine power and had hesitated to use it until now. This was also why he had always felt confident about his survival. But now that the Transform into Sheep Technique had failed when applied to both individuals, Zhao Yang attempted to activate the Seventy-Third Transformation again but was suddenly struck by dizziness that forced him to stop.
"Damn it! I should have realized that such a twisted divine power couldn't be used infinitely!"
Zhao Yang had intended to transform both individuals into little sheep but ended up only turning Jiang Hao into an oddly positioned little sheep. So when Long Xiao Wu kicked open Han Hai's door, he was met with an astonishing sight that left him in disbelief—Han Hai was with a sheep...
Zhao Yang used the Transform into Sheep Technique and kicked open the door at almost the same time, so it was too late for him to stop what was about to happen.
Han Hai was startled by the sudden commotion. He couldn't understand who would dare to disturb him at this hour. He muttered, "Looking for death," and turned around in anger, only to find a strangely dressed Masked Man, with red underwear worn outside, accompanied by a Humanoid Giant Spider behind him. The sight made him panic and his legs went weak.
However, the one who was even more shocked was Long Xiao Wu, standing at the doorway with her jaw nearly dropping to the ground.
"What are you doing... not wearing clothes, and just randomly hitting people? Where's the person you hit? Why is there a sheep on the bed? You actually stole a sheep from our backyard! But that sound clearly came from a person. Could it be you? You... you actually... with a sheep? I didn't see anything! Ah, I'm going crazy!" Long Xiao Wu shouted as she ran towards the back mountain, completely forgetting that their original purpose was to kill someone and silence them.
Zhao Yang felt a headache coming on. If he had known Long Xiao Wu was this fragile, he would never have dared to bring her along.
