"Old man, if I don't come looking for you, do you dare to come find me first?" Song Qianqiu pointed at the Old Scholar, his face filled with disdain.
With the cultivation of the Mahayana Realm, such an arrogant attitude towards someone from the Supreme Realm was indeed rare throughout history.
The Old Scholar snorted, standing with his hands behind his back as he floated down from the air. Song Qianqiu narrowed his eyes and began to close the countless coffin lids before him, attempting to relocate to another place.
The Old Scholar spread his fingers, and the sound of coffins exploding echoed through the air. All the coffins in front of Song Qianqiu shattered, destroying the ancient Holy Body great beings he had painstakingly unearthed. The Old Scholar looked pleased, gazing down at Song Qianqiu with contempt.
Furious, Song Qianqiu spat blood. The ancient Corpse Puppets he had unearthed would have allowed him to dominate the realm once revived. Yet in an instant, they were obliterated by the Old Scholar. He roared, "You're seeking death!"
Song Qianqiu swung a fist at the Old Scholar. The Old Scholar remained motionless, lightly tapping with the back of his hand. A shimmering wave of water pressure surged through the void, sending Song Qianqiu crashing backward. His Daoist robe billowed as he landed on the ground. Hundreds of Yin Soldiers brandished long spears toward the Old Scholar, but he still did not move. Light Shadows flickered around him as Dao Qi shot forth, slicing through the heads of these Yin Soldiers in an instant, causing chaos all around.
"If this is all you can do, then I won't play with you any longer," said the Old Scholar. "Young people often have great ambitions, but many more fall short along the way!"
As he spoke, his pupils shifted colors as he unleashed a Mind Attack. Song Qianqiu immediately clutched his head in agony; red light emanated from his eyes as he glared at the Old Scholar. Before the Old Scholar could react, he groaned as well, blood streaming from his nose and veins bulging from his forehead in pain.
"You can use Mind Attack too? You certainly know quite a bit!" The Old Scholar shouted angrily as he soared into the air and struck down toward Song Qianqiu.
Clenching his fists tightly, Song Qianqiu was determined to battle against a Supreme being. With a thunderous crash, the ground shook violently as Song Qianqiu was struck into the earth by a single palm. A massive handprint appeared in Mountain Valley as he coughed up blood; however, a sinister smile crept across his face.
"The power of a Supreme is indeed hard to resist!" Song Qianqiu exclaimed as he rose from within the handprint.
"Die!" The Old Scholar launched another palm strike aimed at Song Qianqiu's neck.
The sound of flesh meeting flesh echoed as air exploded around them. Suddenly, the Ghost King appeared beside Song Qianqiu, grabbing hold of the Old Scholar's hand with immense strength and flinging him away like a bullet into the mountainside.
His face flushed red; he hadn't expected such power from the Ghost King. He quickly rolled out from within the mountain's embrace, leaving behind a massive pit where flesh writhed and healed rapidly. But before he could land, a golden Buddha Palm struck him again, sending him crashing back into the mountainside.
Dead Tree and Withered Heart, two Holy Monks, struck simultaneously, their bodies enveloped in Ghostly Energy.
The Old Scholar let out a terrible scream as he was suddenly pulled out from the mountainside. Miao Guanyin stood in front of Song Qianqiu, slamming her palm against the Old Scholar's chest. Runes burst forth, binding the Old Scholar in place, freezing him in mid-air. Miao Guanyin then brought her palms together, creating a circular illusion between them that reflected the Old Scholar's form.
With a sudden force, her palms squeezed inward, compressing the air. The rocks burned away, and the void cracked open. The Old Scholar screamed as blood mist erupted from his body; his skin ruptured, and his organs were crushed. It seemed he was on the verge of exploding from within!
The Fury Realm was the final move of the Southern Sea Lineage's supreme Cultivation Method, the Great Yan Zhou Jing. In ancient times, hundreds of experts from the Mahayana Realm had perished under this technique, and many Supremes had also met their end at its hands. The Old Scholar had been caught off guard and trapped by Miao Guanyin!
Confused and bewildered, the Old Scholar had initially thought that the combat strength of these Corpse Demons revived by Song Qianqiu would be significantly weakened, their powers diminished to almost nothing. However, it now appeared that their strength had not waned much at all; instead, their Dao Qi had transformed into Ghostly Energy, becoming ruthless and deadly with every strike!
"Take this Demon Pill and hand over the Great Zhou Compass to me. I can make you my capable subordinate. In the future, when I dominate the universe and become the first great emperor of the Daoist Sect in history after breaking through all realms, you will be my Guardian!" Song Qianqiu declared.
The Old Scholar snorted dismissively, his attitude one of utter disdain. "You think you can kill me under the Great Zhou Compass? You're overestimating yourself!"
In the ancient skies above, the Light Shadow of the Great Zhou Compass shifted and changed as runes moved. "Kill him now!" Song Qianqiu commanded.
Miao Guanyin's palms suddenly came together with a force that twisted the air, compressing it to its limits until it turned into a new substance. Yet, at that moment, the Old Scholar was shifted by the Great Zhou Compass and appeared in mid-air.
The Old Scholar let out a sigh of relief, astonished at how close he had come to death without the Great Zhou Compass!
In the sky above, dark clouds gathered ominously. Song Qianqiu looked up to see thunderclouds thickening overhead, casting a shadow over the Old Scholar who stood atop the towering rune array formed by the Great Zhou Compass. The Old Scholar's Daoist Robe billowed violently in the wind as white hair flew about like drifting snowflakes. Suddenly, he raised his right hand; thunder rumbled as it converged downward.
With a mighty roar, the Old Scholar slammed his palm downwards. The earth dimmed under his power as wind and thunder converged, collapsing the void and crashing into the valley below!
Sand and stones were swept up into a whirlwind. Song Qianqiu frowned as he watched the Old Scholar unleash his Five Thunder Palm. Alarmed at what he saw, Miao Shengnan stepped forward behind him, wielding a treasured sword. She soared into the air; in an instant, her figure multiplied into thousands, covering everyone’s heads with a dense array of sword light that danced wildly and tore through space.
Boom!
The Five Thunder Palm shattered Miao Shengnan's figure into a cloud of black smoke. As the smoke dissipated, the Ghost King, Miao Guanyin, Meng Xuanjian, Dead Tree, Withered Heart, and Haikong surrounded Song Qianqiu, erecting an incredibly powerful defensive barrier to protect him. Beside Song Qianqiu, the White-Robed Old Scholar also unleashed the Transcendent Hand to counter the Old Scholar's Five Thunder Palm.
A faint smile appeared at the corner of Song Qianqiu's mouth as he looked at the astonished Old Scholar. Around them, thousands of Yin Soldiers had perished, turning to ashes. The Yin Soldier Corpse Ghosts feared nothing more than the pure Yang energy of thunder; upon contact, they would be obliterated. The ordinary Yin Soldiers had no means to defend against the Old Scholar's Divine Ability.
Not far from them, Miao Shengnan was entwined in lightning, her body convulsing and in a state of ruin. Black smoke billowed from her form, and soon her body began to rot and decay into darkness, completely annihilated.
"Can you truly harm me? What does it matter if you have the Great Zhou Compass?" Song Qianqiu said to the Old Scholar.
The Old Scholar snorted, standing in mid-air on the Array Pattern. He slowly raised his hands from his Dantian position, incantations appearing around him. The entire Mountain Valley trembled as countless underground Yin Qi surged forth towards everyone.
The White-Robed Old Scholar also executed the Ghost Gate Secret Technique, pressing his hands downward as the Yin Qi was forced back into the ground. The Old Scholar spat blood in anger; his face flushed with rage as he unleashed another Transcendent Hand. The White-Robed Old Scholar met it with an open palm but was struck down into the earth.
Miao Guanyin turned her gaze toward the Old Scholar, suddenly emanating a sinister light as she performed the Thousand-Handed Avalokiteshvara Secret Technique. Thousands of arms reached into the air; the runes of the Great Zhou Compass shifted as one arm broke through a gap in the runes and seized the Old Scholar's ankle, yanking him down violently.
The Old Scholar was taken aback and grasped onto the Array Pattern of the Zhou Compass with one hand. The void trembled as a red light flashed by; the Ghost King's red Great Halberd sliced through, catching the Old Scholar off guard and severing his arm as he fell into the valley.
The Old Scholar lay on the ground, blood covering his face and arms. His left arm had been severed and trembled uncontrollably. He drew that severed hand into his palm, and a sound of flesh reassembling echoed as it quickly healed.
"The body of an Immortal is not something you drunken fools can compare to!" The Old Scholar roared in fury. His right hand spun in front of him, forming a circular talisman. The water curtain barrier of the Great Void Technique surged forth as he slammed his palm against the Void Barrier; ripples spread out like morning bells and evening drums. Everyone except for the White-Robed Old Scholar and Miao Guanyin was sent flying back against the cliffs of Mountain Valley.
Song Qianqiu hid behind Miao Guanyin as her Daoist Robe fluttered. A single tear fell from her eye; at that moment, the Old Scholar was taken aback and leaped aside in alarm.
The tear landed at Miao Guanyin's waist. She flicked her finger, sending the tear piercing through the Great Void Barrier and penetrating mountains for hundreds of thousands of miles without obstruction.
Cold sweat dripped down the Old Scholar’s face as he muttered, "Even after death, this is still troublesome!"
A curtain of water appeared before the White-Robed Old Scholar as well. Miao Guanyin formed a gesture with her right hand resembling a flower bud; her entire arm was enveloped in a gray aura as she executed her sect's Ancestor Master's Mud Buddha Hand. The Mud Buddha's hand reached over the Void Barrier, magnifying exponentially as it aimed to shatter space itself to escape. However, the Great Zhou Compass anchored space firmly in place; no one could tear open space to flee.
The Old Scholar let out a terrible scream as he was caught in the Mud Buddha Hand. The massive hand suddenly closed, blood splattering everywhere, and at the same time, the Mud Buddha Hand exploded. His entire arm was destroyed, and Miao Guanyin retracted her palm, having obliterated one of his limbs.
In the arena, the Old Scholar gasped for breath, the Blood Curse manifesting around him to protect his body. Blood trickled from the corner of his mouth, clearly indicating he had sustained severe injuries.
Song Qianqiu chuckled softly and said, "You walked right into my trap. At your last gasp, I wonder what other tricks you have left. After you die, you'll still be my Puppet."
"You wish!" the Old Scholar roared, stepping forward. His physical body remained still while his Dao Body surged forth.
The golden Dao Body was enormous, like a deity descending from the heavens. Miao Guanyin struck out but was sent flying by the Old Scholar's Dao Body with a single palm strike, freezing her in place. The others attempted to act but found their movements severely restricted, their bodies stiffening where they stood.
The White-Robed Old Scholar was also covered in Blood Curse markings; however, before the power of the Blood Curse could fully take effect, it was bound by the Old Scholar's Daoist Arts. The Ghost Gate Secret Technique emerged from beneath the Old Scholar's feet, wrapping around everyone present.
The Ghost King advanced with his Great Halberd raised high. The Old Scholar's Golden Hand lunged toward the Great Halberd. Ghostly Energy bound itself to the Great Halberd, immobilizing the Ghost King. With a fierce swing of the Great Halberd, the Old Scholar severed the Ghost King's head, blood spraying forth and scattering the Ghostly Energy that sent Song Qianqiu flying backward.
Song Qianqiu's expression turned grim as an imperceptible Clear Light enveloped him. The Clear Light surrounded the valley, causing the Old Scholar's body to stiffen and his Dao Body to slow down.
"Just as I expected, the Great Wilderness Scripture is insufficient to bind the Supreme! Why does this old fool choose now to meddle?" Song Qianqiu gritted his teeth and moved like a specter toward the physical body of the Old Scholar behind his Dao Body.
The Old Scholar's Dao Body moved sluggishly under the influence of the Great Wilderness Scripture's slowing effect. As he swung the Demon King's Great Halberd in retaliation, Song Qianqiu landed beside his physical form. He wrapped his arms around the Old Scholar's head and twisted violently, decapitating him in an instant.
"No!" cried out the Old Scholar's Dao Body, his voice trailing off.
"Come with me..." Song Qianqiu declared triumphantly. However, before he could finish his sentence, several tendrils resembling Blood Tree appendages shot into his mouth at lightning speed like a Blood Serpent hunting its prey.
The tendrils pierced through Song Qianqiu's neck and brain, emerging from his eyes. The Old Scholar's Dao Body swung the Great Halberd and cleaved Song Qianqiu in half at the waist. In his dying moments, Song Qianqiu pressed his palm against the Old Scholar's physical body. The incantation of Demon King's Scripture seeped into the headless corpse of the Old Scholar, causing it to circulate energy and trigger an explosion within its Qi Sea that commanded a self-detonation of its Dao Body.
With a terrifying expression on his face, the Old Scholar's Dao Body chanted spells as runes from the Great Zhou Compass glowed above him. They transported his Dao Body out of the Time Barrier; however, just one second after appearing above it, he watched as his expanding Dao Body erupted with a thunderous sound and transformed into Lightfeather, scattering its aura in all directions.
The Old Scholar let out a startled cry, suddenly waking up to find himself hovering above Mountain Valley. Below him, Song Qianqiu gazed greedily at the numerous coffins scattered across the valley. Inside those coffins lay many corpses dressed in ancient Daoist robes, appearing lifelike.
In the Old Scholar's hand was the Great Zhou Compass, its mysterious runes swirling. Just as he was about to make a move, the compass revealed to him the outcome of his actions.
Cold sweat covered the Old Scholar's face and palms. Fortunately, with the Great Zhou Compass, he had foreseen what would happen in the next few hours.
Hearing the commotion, Song Qianqiu looked up at the Old Scholar on the mountain. The Old Scholar stood up, his gaze sharp. "Old fool," Song Qianqiu scoffed, "I wasn't looking for you, yet here you are seeking me out first!"
"Die!" the Old Scholar shouted, unleashing a Transcendent Hand towards the valley. Miao Guanyin, the Ghost King, and Miao Shengnan gathered around Song Qianqiu to protect him.
As dust settled, the coffins shattered into pieces, and all of Song Qianqiu's hard-earned ancient masters' corpses were reduced to ashes.
Pushing past everyone, Song Qianqiu soared into the air above Mountain Valley, watching as the Old Scholar departed, his expression a mix of confusion and fury.
"You scoundrel!"
